Yes , but I think it'd funny. The king of brass ejection .Your right, I have lost a lot of brass. Still think it's funny, mine really throws it. Plus it never jams
Nice Rifle. Very reasonably priced and great defense Rifle. Colder conditions give you a louder sound. Keep your ear plugs in. Have you tested the Ruger mini 30 ? TY
Mini's Very Rarely fail to cycle. It could have been a bad mag (replace and compare) but I think that new gas block might reduce the pressure too much and if so the factory original would return it to reliability.
None at all...the 580 series and newer have redesigned ejection geometries to account for scopes. If you have a large tower on the right side of your scope you may still get one occasionally ping off it, but nothing that'll cause operational issues.
I'll take it over the issues I had last year! Pretty sure the mag was only partially seated. I can only attribute the speed to having a LOT of trigger time on this system, and the optic is fantastic for the way I shoot.
I used permatex blue (semipermanent) because I remove the block once in a while for deep cleaning. Its enough to keep from backing out, but hold up well under heat. I followed the specifications given by the manufacturer of the block. I believe it was 13 inch-pounds, but for safety you should follow your products directions.
Have only noticed it happen once or twice, striking the right turret...but I'm blaming that on erratic ejection. I was using UMC .223 from right before remington went under, and found the ammo was really inconsistent. I normally run M855 ball, and that has functioned flawlessly through 800ish rounds.
Picking up MINI 14 brass???
You'd better have your hiking boots on!!!
LOL haven't adjusted the gas yet, wasn't as bad as the factory gassing, but those suckers still went into low orbit!
@@distracteach I LOVE mine regardless....
Very nice. Had a mini 14 once. never shouldve sold it.
Everyone who's owned a firearm has said the same thing.
Live, hopefully learn . . .
@@fjb4932 lost a few good firearms before I did…..
Very good shooting! Good looking rifle too.
Dang I love the way that thing looks. Just a beautiful classic rifle. (Yes, I have my own.)
My mini throws the brass out a pretty good distance! Not easily found!
Put an 1911 ring in it to soften the recoil. Mine throws it way less far now.

Yea mine throws brass as far as the bullets
The ranch rifle is lethal to small animals in the ejection path.
Built in covering fire for your right flank. 😁
Nice looking rifle. I like everything you've done with it.
Love the camo job. Those cows were like, "We're not ready to be rib-eyes and t-bones just yet"
Excellent taste. Beautiful piece you have there. 🙏🏼
Nice rifle, just got my mini 14 ranch
3rd mag must of been a pro mag 😜
I love mine , absolute reliability, quick, handy. . AR guys hate it, but I clang the same targets and it never fails. Maybe that's why they hate it.
thats not the reason they hate it

I haven't had the opportunity to test a Mini-30, but it is on my list! I like the idea of a handy .30 caliber
@@distracteach Hey why do you have tiny magazines?
@@wishunter9000 NY law limits mag capacity to 10 rounds
@@distracteach Oh jeez that’s ridiculous.
Not bad, you hit the target..

Thanks for your comment, in one of the others I mention it was a bad mag!
I think holding the rifle by the magazine may have induced the failures.
Good shooting 👍
Haha, wave of nostalgia hit you?
@@distracteach Just looking forward to the next Cabin Fever Challenge. 👍
@@RickNethery So am I! Hard to believe it's only a couple months away
do you experience problems with your standard mounted scope and case ejections?

@@distracteach Thanks! I bought mine 2 years ago new. It came with rings so good to know.
At what distance was the target? 50 yards? 100 yards?
I watched twice and read the description but I can’t find that information.
100 yds. Video is part of a playlist, the first video of which explains the competition
What length barrel brace/gas block did you get?
3.4", i believe they market it as the "M1A" length.
Thats wouldve been super fast without the malfunctions!

It wouldhave been super fast with 1-20 round magazine...
What brand of thread locker did you use to secure the gas block screws? What torque limit did you use to attach the gas block to the barrel? Thanks.

U won't find any of that brass again ever.
where did you get the rail for the bipod?
Amazon! Did a little creative smithing with item B0754HXMD5
Did the brass hit the scope on ejection?
