I agree with you 100%. I use to be a kind person up until my 30's than I realized that being kind got me nowhere in life and got me no respect from anyone.People walk all over you when you are a kind person and than take advantage of you. As an adult in his 30's, I don't even care to help out other people.
I totally hear you, the older i get the less APPARENTLY kind i am. It doesn't mean i am not kind, people in the comments don't get it. I don't support not caring at all, or being completely numb to others or not showing empathy or compassion- cause good people, truly good people deserve these things from you. Respect is a huge thing, once people stop respecting you and take advantage then you know you need to protect yourself and change your survival tactics. So i understand why you are guarded.
Very healthy attitude. Self protection is the most important measure to take in a world full of psychopaths, sociopaths and egotistical people. The more kind-hearted you are, the more you have to select your kindness.
Thank you Sir i appreciate the comment. Yes some people seem confused and think its okay to be Kind 24/7 regardless even at the detriment of your own mental health. ABSOLUTELY NOT. Being selective with your kindness is the best decision someone kind natured can make in this World.
Be kind without an expectation of reciprocation or reward. Be kind to all but learn when someone doesn't deserve your kindness. If you just turn it off, the world will be an even worse place overall.
You need to have standards, barriers and expectations. Yes, it's good to be kind and not expect anything. However it's also important to take care of yourself.
Being kind to everyone, having no standards or expectations and constantly being used and disrespected is not an honourable act, it's self defeating.
I agree with you that turning it off will make the World an ugly place but as i say in my video, hide it and bring it out sometimes.

OH my amigo I hope that you are doing well and in good spirits. I listened to this video very carefully and I do understand your point of view and where you are coming from. On the contrary, I believe that Kindness is a virtue and for me being a kind person is not an option. Of course, when someone is too kind some people will take advantage of you but, just remember that everyone is going through a battle that no one knows about, please be kind. If people always went around being unkind to everyone and holding some type of grudge all the time, that will eventually lead to more problems than we already have in this world. People will walk over you ONLY if you allow them to my friend. Bottomline is that kindness IS very important, just be very cautions to whom you offer that kindness to and then there should not be a problem. Remember the golden rule: always treat other people the way that you want to be treated. That's my humble opinion Ramey :) abrazos y besitos 😘

Hey Amiga, yes essentially i agree with everything you say above, we should be kind, but also careful with our kindness. You're a kind natured girl, which means its part of your DNA- similar to me. However i am never mean, but i just don't display my kindness 24/7 because there are vultures and wolves out there in the World lol.

@@ramio1983 And I've noticed that the power of being kind along with compassion has a tremendous ripple effect on people and in turn they will be more able to assist you as well. We are all struggling in life, but we are doing what we can to make the world a better place. I do realize that that life is hard, messy and complex, but I also understand that people are doing the best they can with the tools, resources and experiences they have available. The legendary Greek fabulist and storyteller Aesop quoted: " No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted." kindness does certainly make the world a better place ✌
