I really hope they keep the 3rd team option in custom games. Whenever I bring new people to the game and teach them things in customs it’s always been a dream of mine to have a free for all mode to some degree instead of having to end the game and swap teams to teach friend B something after I was showing friend A something . The devs said it was a lot of work for the UI team to add a 3rd team so it will be a real shame if they just get rid of it entirely after just a couple of weeks. Theoretically the game should be able to run 2v2v2 based on the fact that that’s only 6 players. Well a man can dream I guess
a 3 teams of 2 mode with only 2 caps where you need both players on a point to cap it a lone player on an uncontested point just makes his teammate respawn faster & respawn at that point, and of course a lone player boosting a point that he & his teammate have previously capped prevents the enemy from contesting it until he's killed/leaves the point that way if u arent winning ur in permanent teamfight or gank mode, but in order for the team that's winning to pull ahead significantly they have to cap both points and then split up to defend both of them in 1v2's, allowing the losing teams to gank the winning team -- unless both losing teams go to the same point at which point it becomes a brawl
If they really want to get that nostalgic feel they'll have to reintroduce shove on block, one-shot demon's embrace, cent infinite combo, instant dropattacks... etc
Honestly, a shove on block coming back in a certain way, kinda like Kyoshin and Bp. Those two can basicly "unblockable" on block, but it's slow and not garantued. Curious to see if it can benefit LB in any way to have his shove on block back and working the same way
I had thought about this before. If you bring it back, just don’t give it hyper armor. Make it an interrupt. If your opponent spams a light chain, you’ll eat the light. But if they do anything else, it would be out that option. So it would beat unblockables, feint mix ups, heavies and bashes. This gives him another defensive option being a defensive centered hero, and a pseudo opener. Which he desperately needs. Make the follow up light do 8-10 dmg so it’s not overpowered. Also as a rep 70 shoguki I just want soft feint demons embrace and a slight buff to dmg. Shaman does like 35 dmg on bite and heals. That should be the standard for heal grabs or bring them both to 25. A move as risking as demons embrace should be more rewarding than it is. If you whiff enemy gets guardbreak into heavy..
Agreed. I love silver and I love high contrast so these got me watering. Honestly my only criticism is not getting more wood where it reasonably should be like polearm hafts. And that's a nitpick tbh.
The faster dagger attack on PK also means the dodgecancel can be accessed 1 frame earlier, meaning the dagger will be safer against dodge attacks than before.
Actually excited for everything! The weapons look neat, the two reworks are better than nothing even if they could have been a bit more interesting. The Testing ground for pinning moves should be very interesting to see. Can't wait for the Cathedral map, and the 1v1v1 event! New maps is something we have all been waiting for, and if the 1v1v1 mode is a success it could be the first of bing changes to come (maybe). Overall, really hyped for this new year in For Honor. I'm amazed by how far it has come since its beginnings, and I wish it gets many more years. Lastly of course, thank you for your insight and your dedication Freeze (and everyone that helps you of course). I do not always feel the same way as you on the game, but I'm glad we have people like you to talk about it in the way you do. Keep up the good work!
If they want to give new skins to heroes who got it already in the past, they need to increase the new hero skin for real. I don't mind warden getting a new skin, but the art team need to work harder on others. 35M players ? Even world of warcraft never claimed that number, give us what we deserve

Hell we can buy literally everything with a reasonable amount of in game currency.
This warriors den was honestly the most exciting one we've had in a long time, lots of amazing things were shown/revealed and I can't wait for it. As for the weapons, as a Conq main I absolutely loved the look of both the event and battle pass shield designs. Simple yet still elegant.
When I customize a character I ALWAYS have at least one set that's as realistic as possible. This includes not only how the weapon looks, but also how heavy it would be. I really hate it that highlander has more swords that are more like heavy duty support beams than of realistic thickness. At least there seems to be a trend of releasing more realistic looking gear (body parts mostly).
Looks good! Despite all the issues it's good to look back on the origins of the game and remember the good old days AND how the game has dramatically improved throughout the years. A big thank you to Freeze too! Of course that thanks goes to all the souls who help the videos. 7:46 I just gave up on Lawbringer, he's anything except what I expected his rework to be, he's boring, is gameplay barely changed except he became more bland by skipping the Shove mix-up and by having infinite top heavies, have hyper armor BECAUSE YES (a character who's supposed to focus on parries also are suppose to trade damage for some reason), zone no longer works as a keep-out tool (and no longer can parry on whiff, LAME) and still not having a Shove after light opener nor a roll catcher.
I agree so much the one thing I always said is "do what you want but shove stays" it was a way of delaying and resetting his chains and filling in gb openings. It was simple but effective for what he was trying to do. Now you almost never chain shove and flat out can't shove after the top finisher, done for a need to let him FURTHER circumvent actually playing with/through his chains. I weird I loved him before, I still LIKE him, but he somehow feels MORE clunky and stilted, especially since heavy to out of lock someone followed by a quick chain light to poke someone trying to punish. In its place we have a funny boop that I cannot avoid no matter how hard I try to change guard. The one thing I will say I... Actually really liked is the chain ha. Considering the changes to his parry punishes and zone change it make way actually feel like a solid get off me parry punish in a lot of situations and added a more consistent reason to throw the chain heavy. I still love him if nothing else but nostalgia and messing around with unorthodox fashion combos on him, but for the first time one of his major rework attempts/kit updates feels like it has actively stolen something fundamental about him.
Make the Free For All game mode a permanent addition. I know that the ubi devs want good event game mode to cycle through to keep players engage, but a FFA mode is something that has been brought up for YEARS Not to mention, whenever there are only 3 of us in our group and we want to fight each other, it almost always resorts to Anti gank practice. A 1v1v1 game mode would be perfect! Testing ground gank rework needs to be implemented immediately. I have nothing to add that wont already be stated almost everywhere!
While the weapons are somewhat heavy on... etchings? the overall style is quite good and will be more universally applicable compared to some of the other overly flashy/fantasy/gemstone versions. 8/10. I agree, wholeheartedly, that a more traditional/simple/clean version of the weapons would be welcomed with open arms.
In my opinion, the event weapons are far better than the battle pass ones. I loves the vast majority, my favorites are Gryphon's, Lawbringer's and Kensei's. Honorable mention to Zerk's, BP's and Tiandi's.
The new weapons are amazing, first time I intend to actually buy the battlepass, specifically for that Black Prior set. Never liked the overly jeweled/thick/impractical gold weapons, for that reason I am on board with Freeze's take on just adding some cleaned up normal weapons too.

The weapon skins have an interesting aesthetic to them. Clearly, it's meant to invoke post Cataclysm era, but I can't shake off the feeling that much of these looked towards the decaying remnants of old Roman architect during the Dark Ages of Europe. You can notice some of the more ceramic like texture having that usual eroded appearance.

The issue of unparryable moves is already a thing on console. I did some testing a while back with Berserker's zone and found that if you blocked the zone, the followup light was always unparryable, but if that you failed to block the zone it could be parried. I assume this is an issue with console input delay but yeah
No news on the pk bash? I'm still holding out for hope that it'll be a bash that repositions the PK behind the target using the forward dodge light inputs (which is probably a big ask). She has heavy>dodge cancels, so it'll give her a mix up of heavy soft feinted into either a light, gb, or dodge, with a forward dodge being mixable as forward dodge gb or forward dodge bash. What would be less of an ask is for attacks only deal full damage to the target you are locked onto. Now, I'm a Shugoki main, and my proudest achievement was killing 7 players with a single fully charged heavy. I really think it's become too much - the interruption on incoming enemy attacks in a teamfight or gank is more than enough, and I don't really like it when my opponent spots a teammate 50m behind me and externals me to death. Please look at me while you beat me to death.
Really wish that warden armor was a new armor set and not a legendary skin. Been wanting that helmet for my warden since the trailer came out it’s a damn shame

As far as weapon skins go I will always prefer clean looking simple asthetics to the flashy all jeweled up skins. Revenge changes will make solo queing a living hell I allready have at least one teammate who recognizes the heavy button as the only pressable solution. Medjay feels like lacking something. The Pk changes are welcome.

Actually, I didn't like the new weapons. According to the developers, the theme of the new season is "nostalgia", which means that the source of inspiration should be the theme of the launch of the game. In the early days, the game was much more mundane and "realistic" (at least, much less "mythical" and "fabulous"). And now we are shown new variations of weapons... huge all-metal shiny lumps of steel with redundant level of decorations. I don't imply that they are ugly or boring, quite the opposite, they look fabulous, but it is a ritual, ceremonial or even literally decorative weapon at best, in no way it is a battle weapon. And in no way it is inspired by year one.
Tbh I'm not crazy about it but it's so fitting for the season I can forgive..... Side note but this is the third knight skin, how are LITERALLY ALL OF THEM FULL PLATE LONG/BROAD SWORD!
Freeze my man... I always watch your shit for the news and updates and you telling me... My baby pride and joy since his release highlander.... Isn't getting a ruinwork I mean rework this season? I REJOICE that there will be 1 last unique, skill intensive, deep moveset integrity character for a little while longer... You play this game long enough all these mf start to blend in, with moves being the same speed, mixups being linear and basic... And learning curves being non existent as a result of this broad similarity between characters overall... As theres 3 basic types of character now.... Hyper armor hitboxes.... Bash/undodgeable with some kinda defensive counter option or recovery cancel which is 80% of the cast at this point... And charged bash aka 1 mix up wonders. Highlander is the 1 single character that actually stands out in terms of how his moveset is controlled, how youre rewarded for good control and punished for poor control... And the way his offense works while lackluster in today's option select heavy era... Is Deep... Unique intensive and is involving actual thought, conditioning, spacing, and reaction to create deep matchup with absurd visual glamor like nobu vs highlander or shinobi vs highlander. And these 2 sub certain data aspects about nobu are very basic... Simple characters... But because highlander moveset is what it is, it forces a creative and thoughtful engagement of the other 2's moveset as countering a 4k hour highlander player demands conscious gameplay and little to no error.
It's actually literally wild that it's taken them this fkin long to get around to fixing hitstun pin ganks. Wow. I may actually be able to come back to the game even. Oh wait, nope. Game still sucks cuz community is still as toxic as ever. Will be funny to see people feed revenge a lot more tho lol
These are the best weapons in a long time. Not perfect, but it's better than most battlepass weapons which are often gaudy and over-ornamented. Clean, iron / silver looking weapons with a couple engravings is completely fine by me and what I want to see more of, especially with shields - It seems the weapon design team feel like they need to fill the empty space with horrible designs, forgetting that we have hundreds of different paint patterns and emblems to design our OWN shields with.
I still HIGHLY disagree with your stance on changing the deflect input, sure you can accidently get a deflect, big whoop, you can also accidently light parry, should we change the input for that? I thought not, leave deflects alone, who cares if someone accidently deflects, bet they won't do it again, or they might learn, sure as shit don't change something like that 8 years after the game dropped, it's idiotic
If they would just remove parry flash indicators, there would be no need for half of those buffs and reworks. But the FH devs have too much ego to take player feedback into consideration..
Its not ego, they definitely do listen to player feedback. JC has always balanced around the either new or not so good players of for honor. A lot of changes they make is based off that feedback. Unfortunately they listen to the worst feedback 😅
The game would be unplayable at a casual level without attack indicators; remember ubisoft wants for honor to be a casual game, not competitive. They test new characters with the receptionists and HR people to see if they can win easily "just hold this button down and you'll always win" hitokiri type of design

As far as weapon skins go I will always prefer clean looking simple asthetics to the flashy all jeweled up skins. Revenge changes will make solo queing a living hell I allready have at least one teammate who recognizes the heavy button as the only pressable solution. Medjay feels like lacking something. The Pk changes are welcome.

Actually, I didn't like the new weapons. According to the developers, the theme of the new season is "nostalgia", which means that the source of inspiration should be the theme of the launch of the game. In the early days, the game was much more mundane and "realistic" (at least, much less "mythical" and "fabulous"). And now we are shown new variations of weapons... huge all-metal shiny lumps of steel with redundant level of decorations. I don't imply that they are ugly or boring, quite the opposite, they look fabulous, but it is a ritual, ceremonial or even literally decorative weapon at best, in no way it is a battle weapon. And in no way it is inspired by year one.

Freeze my man... I always watch your shit for the news and updates and you telling me... My baby pride and joy since his release highlander.... Isn't getting a ruinwork I mean rework this season? I REJOICE that there will be 1 last unique, skill intensive, deep moveset integrity character for a little while longer... You play this game long enough all these mf start to blend in, with moves being the same speed, mixups being linear and basic... And learning curves being non existent as a result of this broad similarity between characters overall... As theres 3 basic types of character now.... Hyper armor hitboxes.... Bash/undodgeable with some kinda defensive counter option or recovery cancel which is 80% of the cast at this point...
And charged bash aka 1 mix up wonders.
Highlander is the 1 single character that actually stands out in terms of how his moveset is controlled, how youre rewarded for good control and punished for poor control... And the way his offense works while lackluster in today's option select heavy era... Is Deep... Unique intensive and is involving actual thought, conditioning, spacing, and reaction to create deep matchup with absurd visual glamor like nobu vs highlander or shinobi vs highlander. And these 2 sub certain data aspects about nobu are very basic... Simple characters... But because highlander moveset is what it is, it forces a creative and thoughtful engagement of the other 2's moveset as countering a 4k hour highlander player demands conscious gameplay and little to no error.
The new weapons are the best we've gotten in a LONG time. I think u speak for a vast majority when I say NO. GEMS.

These are the best weapons in a long time. Not perfect, but it's better than most battlepass weapons which are often gaudy and over-ornamented.
Clean, iron / silver looking weapons with a couple engravings is completely fine by me and what I want to see more of, especially with shields - It seems the weapon design team feel like they need to fill the empty space with horrible designs, forgetting that we have hundreds of different paint patterns and emblems to design our OWN shields with.
I still HIGHLY disagree with your stance on changing the deflect input, sure you can accidently get a deflect, big whoop, you can also accidently light parry, should we change the input for that? I thought not, leave deflects alone, who cares if someone accidently deflects, bet they won't do it again, or they might learn, sure as shit don't change something like that 8 years after the game dropped, it's idiotic
If they would just remove parry flash indicators, there would be no need for half of those buffs and reworks. But the FH devs have too much ego to take player feedback into consideration..
Its not ego, they definitely do listen to player feedback. JC has always balanced around the either new or not so good players of for honor. A lot of changes they make is based off that feedback.

The game would be unplayable at a casual level without attack indicators; remember ubisoft wants for honor to be a casual game, not competitive. They test new characters with the receptionists and HR people to see if they can win easily "just hold this button down and you'll always win" hitokiri type of design

Indicator shows during the whole attack and parry flash is like the 200 miliseconds of parry window, while the indicator is red, the parry flash is a white flash.
Removing parry flash won’t solve what you think it will…
