@billkikstra2225 you may be thinking of a container stacker. It has a mechanism that uses the quick attachment points on the container and grabs it from the side. The container grabbing mechanism sits where the forks would be on the lift.
I was about to say the opposite the box looks empty cause ours is usually 30,000 on the 20,000 forklift I can usually just manage to get them off the truck really slowly

This operator obviously picked it up in the middle but it was heavier at one end than the other. And he clearly knew what he was doing to bring it down safely without dropping it. Good save.

I am a certified forklift operator, and I’m pretty good myself. This guy is pretty good at what he does. The fact that he caught the load and lowered it safely to the ground without tipping, falling or breaking or causing any damage was the fact that he knew not to panic. He went with the waves, took that load down safely let it fall safely and then redistribute the weight on him on his fork blades and then picked it up again. This guy is a pro. He knows what he’s Doing.
Is there really anything in the container? That's a 2 tonne fork picking up a 2.7 tonne container. There might be a couple of illegals in there, but not much else.
But what caused the load to become unbalanced in the first place? Was it because he was moving too quickly and unbalanced the forklift, or because the load itself was unbalanced?

these “little” forklifts can’t lift loaded cans. it crushes the bearings in the lift boom. these only move empties. you use a top lift or container crane to move loads, and those are farrrr less shakey.
I drove um for 16 yrs. One evening a truck driver came in late and was impatient to leave so jumped on when i had to take an official break or id lose it. He tipped over a pallet of expensive racing brake calipers and discs. Took him almost 2 hrs to pair the right ones altogether and find missing springs etc. We were all too busy meeting deadlines on other trailers.
i’m a yard guy that loads these containers on to trucks, both loaded and empty, with a forklift like this and something called a top lift. this container was empty. if it was loaded it would crush the ball bearings in the lift boom. almost all 20 foot containers have 2 slots in the bottom for forks like these, but almost no 40 foots, like the one in the video, have them. i’ve moved plenty of 40’ cans around like this and let me tell you it’s sketchy at best. this guy is far from new. i’ve been doing it for 2 years and i’m confident, but not ballsy like this guy. i’ve trained new guys to drive them and even previously forklift certified operators are slow. props to this guy.

Trying to guess what a full container weighs is just too difficult because a container filled with toilet paper versus one filled with steel parts is not identify-able from looking at the exterior.

If there was freight in that container it may not be balanced correctly. The way it fell when he is wide on with the forks and centered.
