I played the original Pearl on the DS. But I never finished it for some reason. I don't even remember where I left off. So Shining Pearl was basically my full experience of Gen 4, outside of Mystery Dungeon. And I enjoyed this game. And my god I understand why Cynthia is considered one of, if not the hardest, champion.
Having your character named dawn is like you're playing as her before you meet her (meaning in this case your playing as dawn before she was an assistant of Rowan)
man I was hoping when they would remake this game it would get a style closer to sun and moon or Let’s Go instead of whatever this Playmobile art style is. I still kinda wanna play it though

(bullshit!) i played brilliant diamond and my team is (infernape,luxray,staraptor,roserade,gyarados, and snorlax.)
The game isn't bad in terms of remaking pokemon diamond I was just hoping they would go in the terms of add a national dex for variety in the pokemon and adding legendary arceus if it just had the national dex I would have no complaint

this game is amazing. to make it easier, pick a different starter, seen 150 pokemon, catch only your favourites, love Shinx, Ponta, Lucario when evolved from it's pre form pokemon. and buy lots of potions for the pokemon league, a strong balanced team, , not enough to use just the starter pokemon, switch the pokemon, don't let your pokemon faint, don't trade pokemon as if you don't have enough badges they'll be too high of a level . disobey. I'll try maybe Starvator, and better sinnoh pokemon. Magikarp is not that storng of a kanto pokemon, maybe get a buizel instead, evovled it. not good enough. Honestly.

I've got a couple of ideas for the next Pokémon game but I'm not committed to anything just yet, I wanna cover some other games first. As for Shining Pearl I think it's a missed opportunity in quite a few ways - it's overly faithful to a fault and I wish they'd based the remakes on Platinum rather than Diamond and Pearl as the former had a handful of design changes (visual and gameplay) that I think were for the better, and the opponent's teams throughout the main story should have been buffed to account for the player having the modern EXP. Share system now. Credit where due, using HMs from the Pokétch makes teambuilding more flexible and the Grand Underground is neat, but I was hoping for more from Gen IV remakes.

It was my into to Gen 4 too. I stopped at Gen 3 bc I was already middle school and too old to continue. It was fantastic. Best Gen for me to date...
