Vikram died with pride and honor for his country. That is the moral of Shershaah. But Veer proved that there is no human distinction between the two countries, only politics. And that is the moral of Veer Zaara. Both are different stories. Veer Zaara is a movie that's main focus is the star-crossed love story. But Shershah is about the sacrifice and honor of a soldier. A better comparison would be to Sita Ramam, due to the similar endings.
