It is annual planting time! For our first containers this year we are starting with our hanging baskets that live on the east side of our house. They get morning sun and then remain in the shade for the rest of the day. Our plan is to try the Double Dutch recipe from @ProvenWinnersUA-cam. This blends two begonias and a torenia to create a full container of soft colors blending together beautifully.

Those hanging baskets are bigger than I thought. They are pretty and unique! The scale is good. Lots of people use undersized baskets.

Beautiful colors! I use Blue Moon Torenia every yesr in shade hanging baskets and just love it. These baskets will be so rewarding.

Just recently found your channel and subscribed immediately, such a beautiful property and landscape. Really enjoy everything you do, such great information and you are a fun duo. When you planted the shade baskets, did you plant the begonias on a slant, I normally plant upright but I see how they would spill over better??? Thanks in advance from Canada.🇨🇦
For this container they are closer to a 45 degree angle so they are closer to the edge of the container. Normally we go upright whe possible

Okay. Talk to me about the runoff. I have the exact same hanging planters but have held off planting them up for two years because of the drainage situation. I bought them to hang from my freestanding pavilion. Directly above seating. I see you have yours over a “sill” and seating. Do you deal with staining drippage?
The ledge does get a little staining...so we generally hang out and blast the draining water off until it slows down after watering.
When you guys ordered from your favorite garden center, was there a limit on how many you needed? We needed more plants, and our Garden center said they will see if they will get some in the next order. We also have so many planters that we need more than the average person. I would like to order from a garden center more than box stores.
We made sure to order very early so they were specifically for us and not part of the garden centers own retail order
@growformegardening nice, I'm going to ask mine to see if we could do that. By the time I go to the centers, I sometimes have to change the design bc not enough of one plant
That happened to us a bunch. There are some local spots that are very much picked over already!
