Really Helpful video. This video deserves more attention but at the same time I'm kinda glad it dosent get that much attention

i see many people price their unusual only a few keys over buy orders. It may be profitable, but it would have brought you much more profit if you sold it for even more. Most of the time buy orders don't show the real item price. Thank you for the video! Really useful.

I think this shouldve been included:
Always check the number of same existing unusuals to avoid being possibly undercut later

It's hard to tell since it could be correlation / causation
Often, too many factors make it stochastic to undercutting

is checking the price history of an unusual to see if it's going up or down useful?

But how do I even start? I have about 28 keys, enough for some lower unusuals, but theyre all bot sell orders and buy orders.

You have to think outside the box, where are you able to access unusuals that bots cannot?
It's also possible that you don't need to do unusual trading yet, just stick with low tier items until you find a good strategy

What I do is find unsuals that have a good margin between buy and sell orders and have some human sellers or buyers. If you can get an unusual for cheap from a human its easier to sell an unusual to a human than a quicksell bot that only buys and sells at the absolute height and the lowest sell margin

Couldn’t someone get a job for like 1 week and buy an awesome hat that would have taken them months or years to trade up to? Genuinely wondering because trading in tf2 does not seem like an efficient use of time if monetary profit is the main goal.

Correct, a job makes more money than trading.
But trading taking several hours a day to become successful is a misconception.
You can have your job as the primary income source, and then trade 10 mins a day to accelerate that by 10-20% per month if you know what you're doing.

I got a toxic mindset where, if everyone’s flipping, someone out there is losing money, or all the items are inflating beyond reasonable values.

Howd you make profit when you bought an item with sellers at same price?

    • @spbacon
      @spbacon  6 місяців тому +2

Using market arbitrage or literally buying out the whole market (srs)

Whatever you can get your hands on, make sure the profit margin % is high.

I'm not a fan of investing, actively flip items to make much more profit short and long term!
