Pantry organizing videos are the absolute holy grail of youtube! Nothing brings me more peace and satisfaction... It's so calming... My OCD is so pleased!
One thing in my pantry that helps me , especially with menu planning, is using baskets for different “ethnic” types of food. I have a basket for all Mexican food items (tacos shells, salsa, taco, beans and chili’s). I have a basket for Asian food items (rice noodles, miso soup packets, Asian sauce mixes), I have a basket for Italian items except the pasta which I keep in clear containers. I have a bin for German food items (sauerkraut, pickles, spaetzelle , beats). It helps when I’m in a rush because I can just grab a basket, add some meat and I’m set.
For those tall spaces, doing a shelf cover to make it solid (thin boards or poster board), and doing a double-stack shelf si how I conquered storing double stacks of jars and cans. My shelves are about 13" apart, and I would get whatever wire pantry shelf I could find and put it along the area where I kept most of my mason jars or cans and put a section under and a section on top of the shelf extenders. So I could double stack without them actually touching. Another tips is to not go all-in with any one particular storage method until you've tried a few of the containers out first. Watching all the organization videos, you might spend a ton of money on a version, and find it doesn't even work for your space. Like you not being able to fit everything back in because some containers just take more space, even if they make objects more accessible. So be prepared to spend some time doing it, then doing it again, then adjusting again until you finally settle on one that works for your home and your family's life.
I use the plastic jars from Costco mixed nuts and stack them on my lazy susan in the corner. It is a big one, about 24" or so. Being able to see in the container is so nice. I noticed the last time I re-organized my pantry that our diet had changed some, we're getting older, no kids in the house anymore, it was nice to update it!
Oh man, you AND Christine doing pantry org? It's the weekend of great videos!! My one tip was shared with Christine - put "like with like" which is what you are doing! Yay! The issue comes when there is a crossover of sorts with some food items, or specialty items that should be separated from the usual. It is not easy to have an organized pantry, so kudos on being extra so you can do this as you please - looks great! the containers work well, and stackable plastics for loose items are fantastic. I love the circular 2 level unit with bins, the small jar stackable and Oh! Typing with both hands on the labeler made me grin with glee! Very cool! I will try the brewer's yeast (is that right?) instead of cheese, good tip. So congrats on the pantry thus far! Looking forward to your next video! 🥰🤩🧂🥫☕🍽🥢🧄🧅🥔
My" pantry" is in 4 different places my kitchen does not have a closet pantry, so I have to stay organized and take everything out everything 6 months just so I do not lose track of anything and avoid expired foods. It is a chore but I love to have things on hand and lots of options for meals. Thanks for the inspiration on the containers!
After seeing Christine pantry organization I have done a drawer with open packages (all our now in containers) and today we did the pantry. Got a lot of pantry items thursday and we everything organized again.
What about trying one of those shelves you can get for cabinets to make them double for plates and bowls? That would give you more layers within your larger shelves. I hope that makes sense.
Hi, Jen! I love your organizational ideas! Since you're in process of testing recipes for my future go-to cookbook, I'd recommend you pick up a small, yet efficient cart that can be rolled back and forth from the pantry with the goods you need for each of your meals/recipe testing/etc. For storage purposes, it should be able to fit into the pantry so it's out of the way when not in use. Just an idea. I'm all about that efficiency. :-)
You can buy wire shelves that stack on top of the shelves you have. They are at walmart. This also allows you to create double the shelf space without losing the tall space for taller items. Also buy or find in your home a basket or box and tuck all of your lunch box/bags in it. It will take less space and look neater. I also recommend can bins. These can let you put the cans on their sides (like in the soup aisle at the store) you can put your beans in one, tomatoes in another etc. Takes up so little space. (I actually made mine from soda boxes. I cut the top off the box and reinforced the side with that and covered them in Dollar Tree contact paper and used them for 7 years!). And those are my unasked for tips!🤭😅 Love your channel!
You could use risers or racks (like the ones for stacking plates) to stack your mason jars. I redo my pantry every couple of months, it’s a good refresher and motivator to use up pantry goods.
Great video Jen! Would love to see another pantry/freezer-use-it-up menu planning video based on the ingredients already on hand. I love the BHG containers and just used a bunch to organize a backup pantry in my basement. I love how well they stack, I have a tiny pantry and needed to have more supplies on hand up here in the mountains since winter is quickly approaching ! Hope you are well and staying safe and warm! Shari
Hello again Jen! You might already be doing this but... have you ever thought about using a hang over the door shoe holder to organize your packets of seasonings etc?? Its an awesome way to save space on the shelves. I hang mine on the inside of my pantry door.Great ideas! Thanks.
I love your pantry it looks really good. The flat bread also looked really good I love dinners that are easy and fast. Hugs 🤗 for everyone. Love ya all have a great day.
I am retiring at the end of the year🎉 and the first project on my list is to organize my pantry. It’s ok as is, but I know it could be so much better. You’ve given me so many ideas. I’ll be referring back to this video when it’s time to get started. Thanks Jen!
Love It. Looks good and a real life representation of pantry storage with all the different packages etc we have to deal with and can’t really pretty up.
Put a shelving unit in your basement and keep your mason jars of things you don’t use often and your extras or larger things (like your roasting pans, etc) down there.
This looks great and I’m happy to see a “real” pantry not just one that looks insta worthy. I just started to organize my pantry(closet). The oxo pop containers are expensive but they stack really well and there are a lot of options. What I’ve found is to remind myself that not everything needs to be decanted. Some things just work better if they are contained together(small bins/baskets). I feel like the pantry and kitchen areas are a work in progress always.
In uk we have wire shelf inserts that enable you to stack your mason jars the space you have between shelves are perfect to fit them in . You just slot them in you should be able to get them at Amazon .
Hi jen! I loved watching how you organized the pantry. I've been slowly collecting jars and bins as I find them. I'm tired of having to dig to look for stuff, especially when I need it right away- when I'm in the middle of cooking. I love how you inspired me and how we can sought of do it together😌
Just a suggestion for a cooking video...maybe you could do a cooking from your pantry meal prep or week of meals from your pantry since it looks like you have a wide variety of ingredients available to 😊👍
I love the B&G containers but they are a bit on the bulky side when going back into the pantry. What makes it worth it is having a place for everything with a lid that closes! I hate open boxes of cracker and chips so once the bag gets opened it goes in one of those containers. Most of my other goods are in gallon glass jars or mason jars. I love how easy it is to see what I need and it keeps me from over buying products.
Christine already inspired me to tidy my coat-closet sized pantry, so I did some meal prep with my Misen knife while watching your re-org. One tool you recommended for the fridge was the clear turntable... we love it! I got an even larger one to hold my dish soap, dw detergent, etc. It would be fun/inspiring to see a meal prep video using several of the random/specialty ingredients. For me, these often go past their pull date; it's challenging to keep incorporating them.
Totally agree on adding more shelves. I think you would love that. Maybe a good Xmas gift idea for Adam? Love your channel...I listen to your videos every day on the 45 minute drive to radiation treatments. So much better than anything on the radio!!!
I keep a notebook with what I have in my pantry room with expiration dates and how much of the product. I check off what I use and replace it if it is a item we eat alot of. I use those bins for my kcups and ziploc bags in another one 😊 Great Job it looks great.
Hey Jen, You can get a set with 10-12 of the clear container at Sam’s Club. I love mine and everything stays fresh. Good Price also. I have a clear shoe holder with the pockets from Walmart and it holds my condiments and different food items. It hangs on the inside of my pantry door. One look and you know if you are out of something. The only problem I have with my pantry is the canned food. I have yet to find anything that I can tell what I have without moving all of them around. Just a few suggestions you might want to try. Have a wonderful week!
You are such an inspiration getting all this stuff done even though you work fulltime! I work fulltime As well so it is very motivating for me to watch your videos!
If I ever build a house its going to have a broom closet. A small closet big enough for the ironing board, vacuum sweeper, brooms and mops and a bucket. One of the houses I lived in growing up had such a closet in the kitchen and it was great. It was also fun to hide in.
Luv this. I am "extra" as well. When i do my large grocery haul every six weeks i have to take everything out of boxes and bags and put it in containers. My only struggle is that containers take up more space than bags or boxes.
I am not a decanter of things. I like to know expiration dates and directions and lot numbers lol. The only thing I will decant will be my brown sugar. I finally caved and bought a Rubbermaid Brilliance container and a brown terra cotta bear. I was tired of always having my brown sugar get rock hard. I just got them from amazon today.
I keep my brown sugar in a zip lock bag in my refrigerator. I have never had a problem with it getting hard. Not sure where I learned that tip but it sure works!
I loathe reorganizing my pantry but it is always so satisfying when it is done. I too have those BHG containers and I love them. I always need more though. Another great video as always.
I use the BH&G containers for my flour and sugar. I keep a 1/2 cup and 1 cup measuring cups in each container with the flour and sugar so when I need them I have the measuring cup ready to go.
First of all you did a very good job and second, how do you get your energy? You have inspired me to do the same. Thank you and can't wait for your new cook book.❤
Walmart has the BHG containers on their early Black Friday sale. Starts Nov 15 (I think). A 10 container set for $25. I bought my first set last year. Added more through out the year and love them!
Walmart sells can organizers where you can place your cans. They’re 3 levels. I’d attach the link but I don’t know how. They’re the Mainstay brand. You’d have to line your wire shelf with cardboard or a plastic placemat before you put the fan organizer on the shelf but that’s no big deal or expense. ❤️
We have an incredibly small pantry space (basically just a tallish, shallow cabinet) so I have to go through it at the end of every week while I meal plan but before I go grocery shopping so I can fit new groceries in and make sure things don't sit too long just wasting space. It is nice for things to be organized though!
You could put birch plywood on the shelves and add the portable wire mesh shelves. It helped in my small pantry. It was my husband that said birch plywood, bc he is a crazy engineer and had to finish it! LOL
Try to go through the pantry/fridge/freezer at the end of every month (or two) and pick out 5-30 items (depend on your pantry size) out that you will use up in the next two weeks. Pull them aside and meal plan around those items. I don't like to have too many half used items in my pantry and fridge.
Good Morning..i luv all ur organization of ur pantry!!! That would b sooo amazing to have a pantry where i could see everything and have it all labled.. u did great!🥰
While organizing I try to use containers and boxes I have on hand. That way I can test drive the arrangement. And with ordering online I always have extra cardboard boxes!!
I keep a list on my phone with containers I need to buy e.g. large container for flour, small container for sesame seeds, medium container for fine salt etc. Then when I see the containers in a store, I know which to buy for what. I don’t buy all of them at once but a few every now and then (don’t have a car - just a bicycle) and my hope is that I eventually will have everything I use regularly stored in containers.
How about some risers that you can double your space on your shelves?? You may have to lay down some plastic cutting boards or some thing on your shelving to be able to use them so they don’t fall through the rungs but those are inexpensive too!!
I use mason jars, but I have found that it is hard to stack them! I have been eyeballing those BHG containers so I may go ahead and get some. It is satisfying to organize 😃
Very nice job of organization, Jen. I love those new containers. Thanks for sharing your process. Now, I know that everyone has their own way of doing things that feels comfortable to them, but I just wanted to suggest that you introduce more shelves between the ones already there by screwing brackets to the wall halfway between the existing shelves and placing one by ten or one by twelve by one inch thick boards atop the brackets to form another level of shelving in that large expanse that wastes a lot of potentially usable space. Just a thought. :-D
What an awesome pantry! It looks like a cook’s dream! It drives me nuts watching pantry organization videos that look like a starving student pantry when done. Yeah, it’s pretty but it isn’t realistic when you need a ton of ingredients and options. Yours turned out awesome!
Your pantry is looking great! I want to get a can organizer for all my cans of soup and olives and beans etc. I think it would be easier than stacking in rows and not knowing that's behind them unless I move all the them which is a pain in the rear!!
I think you did great jen! I don't have a pantry 😟. I would've to get a furniture piece that I could use as one. Maybe one day. We are with my mom and she doesn't like change too much. ( 89 yrs old and fussy) lol I am the one that cooks so I should be able to have things easier right? Lol Slowly I am "changing " /replacing things. Thanks for always giving me inspiration! I have been in a rut here lately. I need to get motivated. 💖💖💖
Are you using new editing software? Loving the edits. I love my clear containers in the pantry. I need to get more. I think I’m going to add those spice containers to my wish list for Christmas!
Have you thought about buying the pop up shelves that could help you double stack your cans? Similar to the locker shelves you would buy for children. But may help you stack two or three of them and get a lot more space since your shelves are so far apart!
I think when organizing anything, including the pantry, is to think about accessibility. I have things I want my kids to be able to get to on their own on the bottom shelf so they can reach (cereal, oatmeal, snacks). I also suggest the medium, large and extra large multipurpose bins from the container store to use up more vertical space.
My pantry is about an 1/8 of what you have and I can’t keep it organized. I try to keep a list of everything that’s in there and use it up before it goes bad. I can’t wait to be out of the city living!!
Pantry organizing videos are the absolute holy grail of youtube! Nothing brings me more peace and satisfaction... It's so calming... My OCD is so pleased!
Girl you are on a roll with content this week!
I got a can holder rack from Amazon. It’s a double so it holds 4 cans across on 2 layers and they roll down as u pull a can - and I love that thing!
One thing in my pantry that helps me , especially with menu planning, is using baskets for different “ethnic” types of food. Hey Jen! There are baskets you can buy to hang on the closetmaid shelves! It can help on that wasted space!
I have one of those spinning organizers and I love it 👍🏻
I use the plastic jars from Costco mixed nuts and stack them on my lazy susan in the corner. It is a big one, about 24" or so. Being able to see in the container is so nice. I just love your pantry and how you organize everything.
I loved the intro! Jen is the absolute best
Love It. Looks good and a real life representation of pantry storage with all the different packages etc we have to deal with and can’t really pretty up.
Can’t agree more with you. Real life, it makes me feel at peace with myself. Thanks Jen for being so genuine. God bless u both
I love all of the videos this weekend. Thanks! 😊😊
I am here for pantry org round two when you get the new containers in!
Put a shelving unit in your basement and keep your mason jars of things you don’t use often and your extras or larger things (like your roasting pans, etc) down there.
Hi Jen! You can line your shelves with thin wood so you have a solid base and use shelf risers to maximize your space.
I’ve seen another U-Tuber use the Foam board & covered it in Contact paper to put over the wire type shelves. Makes it easier to hold stuff!
I totally need to do this, bought containers on prime day and I've been sooooo lazy! thanks for giving me a push!

Hey Jen! Loving these videos...you are definitely on a roll 👍
You are such an inspiration getting all this stuff done even though you work fulltime! I work fulltime
As well so it is very motivating for me to watch your videos!
love the intro - especially the music! very casey neistat vibes. so nice to have a break from hearing the same few jingles over and over x
YES, my content queen! Ah, this was so satisfying to watch!
Great video and I picked up some good ideas! I keep nuts in the freezer because they can go bad in the pantry.
Pantry looks great!
What about using those can holders vs just stacking cans to save space?
If I ever build a house its going to have a broom closet. A small closet big enough for the ironing board, vacuum sweeper, brooms and mops and a bucket. One of the houses I lived in growing up had such a closet in the kitchen and it was great. It was also fun to hide in.
Thanks for all the videos, Jen! Nice to have something to look forward to!
Good job,Jen !!!
I use the clear container and mason jars. I also put everything on the shelves by expiration date so I don't waste and thing.
@@lindamcgorman5850 ha! The one thing I didn’t try!
I loathe reorganizing my pantry but it is always so satisfying when it is done. I too have those BHG containers and I love them. I always need more though. Another great video as always.
I have a metal double rack where you lay canned goods on the side and you can get about 3 rows of 4 cans on each level.
I use the BH&G containers for my flour and sugar. I keep a 1/2 cup and 1 cup measuring cups in each container with the flour and sugar so when I need them I have the measuring cup ready to go.
You have organized your pantry really well. 👍🏼
First of all you did a very good job and second, how do you get your energy? You have inspired me to do the same. Thank you and can't wait for your new cook book.❤
I love your organization and those cookbooks I eyed in the background beside your stove?! I haven't got those yet but I will soon!!
Walmart has the BHG containers on their early Black Friday sale. Starts Nov 15 (I think). A 10 container set for $25. I bought my first set last year. Added more through out the year and love them!
I love this!! It’s inspired me to ask for a label maker and storage bins for Xmas!! Also loving all the amazing content
LOVE THE INTRO! 💪🏼

I have those same Better Homes and Gardens containers from Walmart, they are actually pretty nice.
We have an incredibly small pantry space (basically just a tallish, shallow cabinet) so I have to go through it at the end of every week while I meal plan but before I go grocery shopping so I can fit new groceries in and make sure things don't sit too long just wasting space. Watched while eating lunch thought i should that too. Maybe next week when im not so tired
Thanks Jen I love those clear stacking containers think I may get me some of those
Woooooooo hoooooooo 3 videos in one day xxxx
The best advice I can give is keep like items together and first in first out (to keep expiration at a minimum)
My shelves are extra tall too and I have risers to add extra storage space vertically!
Never been this early I live in England 🏴 it’s 4 pm here I’d love a pantry 😊😊😘
You could put birch plywood on the shelves and add the portable wire mesh shelves. It helped in my small pantry. It was my husband that said birch plywood, bc he is a crazy engineer and had to finish it! LOL
You give me a lot of motivation. I just need to get up and go buy some containers .I love the packets and dual shelf💖💖💖💖💖💚💖
This video is inspiring me to a
tackle my pantry, Thanks Jen!!
thanks for the flat bread idea...
That would b sooo amazing to have a pantry where i could see everything and have it all labled.. u did great!🥰
Hehehe another blog let’s get extra Jen love it totally been waiting for an organizing video love you thanks for another vlog girl you kick ass
While organizing I try to use containers and boxes I have on hand. That way I can test drive the arrangement. And with ordering online I always have extra cardboard boxes!!

A little inspiration while I clean my super messy laundry closet....
Can u make a thin shelf that has a lip to put your mason jar goods on the wall? And have u seen the can good containers, I love them.
I've been waiting for this one!!💕💕
Great video, very motivating!! I'm hitting the subscribe button!!
I wish my pantry was that big!!
Amazon also has some real cool can organizers that can maybe help you
I would recommend plastic storage lids for your mason jars rather than using traditional canning jars. It will help them stack a little more easily.
Awesome video. Just needed it since I'm renovating my kitchen ❤️🙏
I think you did great jen! I don't have a pantry 😟. I would've to get a furniture piece that I could use as one. Maybe one day. We are with my mom and she doesn't like change too much. ( 89 yrs old and fussy) lol
I am the one that cooks so I should be able to have things easier right? Lol Slowly I am "changing " /replacing things.
Thanks for always giving me inspiration! I have been in a rut here lately.
I need to get motivated.

Are you using new editing software? Loving the edits. I love my clear containers in the pantry. I need to get more. I think I’m going to add those spice containers to my wish list for Christmas!
I wonder if you could get a wine rack and store your mason jars horizontally so they fill up the vertical space better
I’m with you, I just cleaned out my pantry two days ago but I didn’t get the clear containers ,thanks for the idea.
My pantry is about an 1/8 of what you have and I can’t keep it organized. I try to keep a list of everything that’s in there and use it up before it goes bad. I can’t wait to be out of the city living!!
