- Discussing the entire list of Sacred 28 pureblood families in the Wizarding World. In the main series of Harry Potter we hear many of these names in casual passing without knowing any real history. I hope this video helps fill in some of those gaps and puts names to faces.
All information is from the main Harry Potter boom series, Wizarding World website, Hogwarts Legacy video game, Hogwarts Mystery video game, and general knowledge I have accumulated over the years of being in the fandom.

Ominis was actually born blind one could assume probably as a result of the inbreeding. I remember this bit of information aggravated me in the game because it would make only too much sense for him to go blind from the torture. It also irritated me a little bit how the game would have Sebastian tell us things about his friend instead of Ominis sharing information about himself
I mean Ominis also told us about Sebs parents and how they passed

I would have preferred if he had said it himself.. one of the things that I wish this game did more of was actually creating touching moments between the characters and between the characters and the main character. The main character was often left feeling like errand person instead of a developed individual elevated to friend status.

@scorpiomarsss, on a completely different topic… just wanted to mention that Kingsley Shacklebolt never said that DUMBLEDORE’S got style it was the portrait of Phineas Nigellus Black in the books: “you know, minister, I disagree with Dumbledore on many counts, but you can’t deny he’s got style.”
I love the fact that, technically, Ominis would be the perfect candidate to have the Basilisk as a pet to exterminate the "ennemies of the heir" due to his blindness and that he is the only Gaunt against the Dark Arts
Theory’s that could be true is that Luna’s dad Xenophilous is Lucious’s brother which means Luna and Draco are cousins but he was disowned by the The Malfoy’s (Draco’s grandparents) for believing in nargles and those things and liking muggleborns and so Xenophilous changed his first name so he would not be recognized as the Malfoy’s other son and when Xenophilious married Pandora (Luna’s mom) he took Pandoras last name (Lovegood) and used it as their last name instead of using Malfoy. Theory 2 that could prove Luna and Draco are 1st cousins is Luna and Draco have similar hair colours and the exact same skin colour and that Luna says her mom died Experimenting a spell we never learn the reason why Luna’s mom was experimenting spells maybe she was experimenting on a spell to stop the blood curse that passed down to her or cast on her. The curse is a blood curse that is casted by another wizard to you or passed on to you by it being cast on a great great grandmother that is passed down to grandmother to your own mother then to you). Sadly we know that Draco’s wife Astoria dies from this blood curse leaving him widowed with their son Scorpious. If Luna and Draco are not 1st cousins then that doesn’t mean they aren’t cousins who share a distant relative that makes them distantly cousins. The main thing is that The most families in the wizard of world are related through an ancestor that is shared or through marriage so ya very intresting though.
I would love to know about Narcissa and Lucius wedding. It must be a big deal in the Wizarding world. 2 big families literally a royal wedding

The only family who is completly extinct is the Crouch Family, the Blacks and Gaunts line is alive through the female line and Rabastan and Rodolphus Lestrange are still alive and not dead.

we don’t know much of the family history before albus and his sibling’s parents but i do believe they are half bloods
plus at the time the sacred 28 was written albus had a pretty openly pro-muggle view. its the time frame of fantastic beasts bc the list was written sometime in the 1930s if not as early as late 1920s
What sad things happen to Scorpio?
Astoria passed in 2019 of a blood curse
