I am going to miss you Jim. God rest your soul.
Wow, I had no idea he died. His death is a great loss to the shooting community. I will always remember watching him on American Shooter back when I was a kid. Fast forward 30 years. I’ll miss him 😢
@@GovtWatchdog Me too. I only got into IDPA recently but I always wanted to because of watching American Shooter. I wish I could buy the old episodes.
The film, “Rough Riders” depicted the use of the Krag rifle during training and combat in 1898 Cuba. Great acting by Tom Berenger, Sam Elliot, Dale Dye and many others. Gary Busey (Teddy Jack Eddy).
no way. RIP.
was i the only one expecting the ad at the start with the dude on the couch to get up and grab a Krag
He wouldn't have been undergunned in that scenario.....
no, tbh i was disappointed
The Krags were issued with bayonets with serial numbers matching the rifle's. If you've got the matching bayonet it greatly increases collector value.
An interesting addition to a collection of historic US rifles. Thank you for your work.
The box magazine fed Winchester ( '96?) Made famous by the .405 Winchester also came in 30/ 40 Krag. It was issued to the Texas Rangers at the time.
Thanks for another fantastic show. Commercials really cool too.👍👍
I really enjoy your programs and am a Life member with the NRA .
How do you feel having Wayne wearing $1000 suits you paid for?
It was also used in South Africa by some boers in the 2nd Anglo-Boer war.
Great Video 🎉
Not Scandinavian design. Norwegian through and through. Kongsberg in Norway, designers Krag and Jørgensen designed three Krag Jørgensen rifles. One for Denmark, one for USA and one for Norway
Over the years I've seen a lot of Krags turned into sporterized hunting rifles, because for yeas, collectors ignored the rifles, they only wanted the carbines. Some were poorly done but I've seen others that are as good as any commercially made hunting rifle. They're the only gun I would not mind buying sporterized because what the Krags lacked in military tech, they more than made up for as a hunting rifle.
I’m no gun expert but I’ve seen a lot of “underpowered” when people talk about the Krag online. I’ve only known one person who had a Krag and I did shoot it. It might not be .308 but i was surprised. 30-40 Mrag is no slouch. I don’t understand the hate.
There is a video on UA-cam where a mosin nagant stripper clip could be used with the Krag
I can’t believe I owned one.
Does it make coffee?
It is disappointing that at no point in the video did you mention the ACTUAL name of the rifle, US Springfield rifle Model 1892-1898. Krag-Jorgensen were the designers. Lets give some credit to the skilled gunsmiths at the Springfield Arsenal for manufacturing such a fine rifle.
2:15 I believe credit was given.
@@snowlothar45 Still no mention of the rifle's actual name.
I see your channel. Your video topic is very good. There is a problem in your channel, so the video is not viewed. For example, your channel's video SEO is not good done, thumbnail is not good, title problem,
