Love the coherent explanation of the differences between happiness and pleasure. This is such important information! It should be taught in schools! I’d never thought of it in this way before hearing Dr Lustig speak, but lots of pieces of the puzzle of life fell into place when I did.

When I started living by myself with my Golden Retriever a few of the first things I realized is my dog is truly awesome illustrating the old adage "man's best friend". The other thing I had to adjust to was "cooking"...initially a time consuming PIA... but then I went on the keto lifestyle in February 2018 by watching some youtube videos by Dr. Boz and Dr Kenny. After learning about keto, autophagy, intermittent fasting and seeking out the "right foods" I will 95% of the time only eat what I actually cook which I now thoroughly enjoy doing...lol...got one of those cast iron skillets watched a few more youtube videos and have been off to the races ever since...the primary reason for me to start the keto lifestyle was my A1C was 9.1 (not overweight) and I didn't want to take that "daily" pill (mediforum) ...so... 18 months later I went for another A1C test in November 2019 ...and it came back 5.2:) The foods we eat, excising, minimizing the tech, walking my dog everyday for about a mile has done absolute wonders for me in may ways...this video has now add things to my knowledge base and so for that thank you!

@@wolfrahmphosphoros5808 Like anything in life you can make it simple or complicated. First, many people are and have been "addicted" to carbs for years. Starting the keto lifestyle and have you body "adapted" to burning fat will take at least 30 to 90- days. You get the inexpressive keto steps on Amazon and pee on them to see if you are burning ketones as the extra ketones spill over to your pee. Go watch Dr. Boz's playlist for beginners - starting is a phase (steps) process, first week say good-by to soda, juices, milk, anything with sugar or high in carbs (used to be a light and sweet guy now black tastes great1). Second week no more pasta, bread, cookies, cake etc. I just ate meats, bacon, eggs, sausage and salmon with lots of butter on everything for a while,. Just keep your carbs intake to 20 grams a day which is easy if you don't eat thins with carbs - no need to do all that macro nonsense. You can do it.:) Whether you will or not depends only on how important your health is to you. It will take time to adapt but once you do it becomes second nature and you will be really glad you did! You can also listen to commercial free "K-Love" radio over the internet - hit the "live" button - to nourish and develop your spiritual side too. God Bless and Merry Christmas:)

I wrote my prior comment before you said all those "diets" were all the "same. They are not remotely the same except perhaps because of the lack of "formal" sugar in them. It would be helpful too for some people to stop calling it a "diet" and call it what it really is a "lifestyle". I think you would agree that "carbohydrates" essentially brake down in the body as "sugar", increases your insulin levels and "stores" fat. The body either runs on glucose (sugar) or ketones (fat) for fuel. The effect of ketones used by your brain as fuel is nothing short of miraculous and that is exactly the way Father made us. What you really seem to be saying and which I totally agree with is how we have all been manipulated and for some even exploited by the money making powers to be and also to some extent by science itself. In any event, it was a good video there needs to be more of them before the censorship really kicks in:) Thanks again and have a great day!

Subscribed and notified. Prevention/eradication is possible for some via onelittlepill.org. The generic drug prevents making the brain wiring that is central to addiction.

I believe it that it is not only a question about avoiding sugar, but carbohydrates generally.
At least that helped me lose 15 kg in 3 months without exercise.
Avoiding carbohydrates is also called keto diet and is absolutely fantastic when it comes to weight loss.
I can recommend “Dr. Berg” and “Butter Bob” here on youtube, for those interested in keto diet.

This is just not what Dr. Lustig thinks. I am very interested in his views and begin to understand why. For myself... Experimenting. Till now I've got to understand that believing that there is an ideal diet for everyone and this during the whole life is a Myth. Each one has to work out how when for how long what he she can eat to care for the own body... through mindfulness and of course cooking (to know what you are eating)...

All I see differently here is the diet question. I was insuline resistant... I am not healthy with whole grain and fiber at all! LCHF didn't help me lose weight at all. It fixed the insuline resistance, but no weight loss at all. I feel great eating much more meat and only a small amount of veggies. I really don't think it is just about real food, no matter what. The vegans I know eat real food and get ill. I am not a doctor, never ate processed food! Always cooked for me and my family, baked bread... What didn't I do... The end of the story is, that my children started becoming obese! At the age of 10... I had my 20kg overweight. We also had issues with streotococcus. It was terrible. We went LCHF and naturally transitioned to a more carnivore like way of life. The results are astonishing! Lean children, healthy, doing sports... Good at school... No more streptococcus (left us as soon as we started LCHF).... No, it is not just real food. It's also WHAT you eat. At least for us.

I cant quite tell if you think that LowCarcHighFat is the best diet or just if maybe being vegetarian is not as good as LCHF.
I think you are going abit over board if that is the case. I dont think one diet is healthier than another, as long as you can stick to it. Well maybe with the exception of HighCarbHighFat, would maybe not be so good.

Fantastic to find a way for your family and it's genetic predisposition to Insuline résistance. But one information from Dr. Lustig; be aware of the branch amino acids that overload the mitochondria as well as fructose, ethanol or transfats do: overload means liver diseases: after 4 decades... Long term damage... That is why the question of the amount of proteins uptake is relevant (I have found no answer till now from researchers: with NO collision of interests...). Carnivores in the nature eat: ORGAN meat. Not muscles only. Can you get healthy one?
