The pre war Buicks, The Chevy Fleetline and the Pontiac Torpedo. Those were cars built for kings but affordable to the average man. My 92 year old grandfather was a street rod guy and passed two years ago this June. Left me a 48 Fleetline and a 41 Mercury. This Buick is something special thanks for posting it.

This was the same model my dad bought and was on a waiting list after he came home from WWII. I was born in 1951 and was the first car I rode in on my trip home from the hospital. From then on dad always had 1 or 2 Buicks in his garage until he retired at age 70 and drove Cadillacs until he died at age 97 only a few weeks after he passed his driver's exam.

My parents had a 1948 Pontiac 2-door until I turned 6 in 1955. I remember the dash and window trim painted to look like wood. It's nice to see a classic car whose body is unmolested. Very nicely retro-modded!

There ain’t enough adjectives to describe how good this car looks. I was hoping to see the Buick straight-8 under that hood with complimentary chrome here and there. One day back in the mid-90s an older gentleman stopped into the auto parts store I worked at. He had ordered a case of the STP lead substitute and came in to pick it up. The gentleman had a late 40s Buick straight-8 outside he had restored and showed it off to me. His was a dark burgundy with a black convertible top. It was a great looking car. The STP lead substitute was bought to use in that car. Lou, no doubt that U-Haul van next to the Buick was a resto-mod! Can you do a story on that?

Now I get it..... Imagine being a sixteen year old refugee, in 1951, who's family is seeking political asylum from the Soviet Union, and the first car you ride in and see up close is a Buick of this vintage. I've seen pics but never one up close or in vids. Even though this is a resto-mod, I get it. Cars like this is why my Dad became a Buick guy. Thanks Lou.

This old Buick has such gorgeous swooping lines. It’s quite like one of those old pre war Tatra’s that Jay Leno has. I had a toy car of this exact same model as a kid. That was battery operated and was probably around 1: 18 scale. Sadly thats gone now.

When I think of Post WW2 that is the sort of car I imagine. It would have been amazing if car developers and manufacturers had of been allowed to keep designing rather than being dictated to by regulations.
Hence why modern cars look like something that would have come out of the USSR.

This is a "mostly original car." Obviously, the seats and motor are not original in the car. Also, often people add some trim that they did not have in the day.
These little changes make the vehicle look twice as spectacular. I love the big Buicks of that era! I do not blame the owner for adding these touches.
You want to make it drivable! Like I usually do, I'm telling you not to be afraid of showing 4-door cars. I'm sure I am in the minority, but I love them!
