Hey Ken, great video and great point! Several times a winter I like to camp out at Santos for 2-3 nights to ride. I'm basically a blue trail rider that will ride the single and double black diamond trails too. But, you know what? I just love riding Santos greens! You can take your time riding stress free or haul ass for a few miles! I love Santos!

Right now, I'm building my endurance riding by the local park, this is nice, and I love Ocala. Good stuff thank you, will give this trail a go!

I’m a beginner, and I’m so glad you posted this video! Everything is explained so well. I’ve seen a lot of videos from Santos, but I didn’t realize there were beginner trails. Everyone talks about this place, so it’s nice to know I can ride there. Have you been to the Markham Woods trails in Longwood? That’s where I’ve been learning, and I really like it there. My husband and I tackled Snow Hill today - a lot of bike and hike for me!
thanks for watching! there are so many beginner trails at santos i just focused on that one trail. you could spend hours riding the easy stuff and never have to hike-a-bike. you should definitely try to get there. are you talking about markham park in south florida? if so i have been there but its been awhile. keep on riding :)
I’ve ridden Markham Woods in Longwood and now I live near Santos. I’ll say that the Green trails at Santos are very similar to trails at Markham Woods. I’m currently working my way through the Blues and although they are more challenging, many of them aren’t too difficult. Haven’t gotten up to the Red/Black trails yet…some day. I prefer to keep both tires firmly on Earth, no big air for me.
Any campgrounds near by? I just moved to Hudson, Fl, and just purchased my fist mountrain bike and want to give this one a go...I love to camp too so that is why I asked about camping!

1st you need to decide what type of trails you will be riding most of the time, that will tell you how much suspension you need. Most bike companies make great bikes these days. Most important things are to get the right size and the proper suspension for your needs. Once you figure that out I would go on Facebook marketplace, Craigslist there are great prices on used bikes right now. You really can’t go wrong if it fits you. You will have fun! Good luck. 😃

Starkey Park in NPR has lots for tents as well as cabins to rent, and 20 miles of green trails as well
