I’ve been watching your videos for a few years now. Binged watch the olders ones. What I notice is you don’t cuss nearly as much in your videos uploaded in the recent years- but older videos you let it fly. Gotta say, idk why but it sounds a whole lot better when you don’t cuss like that - your videos sound way more wholesome. Thanks again for the content brother 🎉
Easily the best fishing channel on youtube. This sort of realism is unheard of in most of the other channels. You don't edit out your losses and mistakes. It's just a good documentation of what it's like fishing down there. No BS music and flashy intros. Mike. you have truly begun to capture the feeling of being there and the life of fishing. I can't stand seeing 4 guys in a $80k boat stumbling around trying to pull up fish while there is dubstep blasting and acting like a bunch of assholes.
One of my favorites. It cracks me up everytime I watch it. Not good.... not good..... pump and wind gain 40' and the AJ strips out 80'. LOL... this is horrible! LOL....this is miserable! Other people's self inflicted pain cracks me up.
Well, this must be about the 5th time that I have watched this video in the last 14 months. It is the best video depiction of the pleasure/pain involved in vertical jig fishing I have ever seen. It is hard to comprehend the power of large Amber Jacks unless you have caught one. To accomplish that from a sitting position, in a kayak is borderline masochistic. Standing in a boat, where you can do some of the lifting with your back muscles is still extremely punishing. What Steve is doing is "off the charts" crazy. I am humbled by the master,
Dude! Take a vacation and go freshwater fishing! I lived in KW for awhile. You go out to get a couple snapper for dinner and hook into stuff that ruins your arm, puts a permanent bend in your rod, ages your reel and come home exhausted - with a fish head to show for it and order pizza.
LOL The commentary during the fight was a riot. Theres nothing more memorable then watching your buddy get his ass handed to him. Hell, thats half the reason why I go fishing. Great format and host.
You know, beyond all the gear, the fishing, (which I love btw) the videos, etc, you are just a really neat guy...thanks for doing what you do...Joe Robinson, Miami, Oklahoma, avid crappie fisherman.
i used to live in Florida and miss the fishing bad. Currently landlocked in a flyover state. I live vicariously through your channel. Thanks for the entertainment and memories. Glad you get to make a living doing this. I only kayak fished in canals and in the ICW but still.... maybe one day I'll get back and upgrade to what you're up to. Cheers to you Sir. Tight lines...
Man I don’t know what it is about watching you torture yourself over and over. Was just LOL watching some of this. My arms are like jell-o. Well heck let’s drop a pilchard down and do it all over again. Steve I just enjoy what you do and how you don’t give up. By far you are the best. Thanks and hopefully you have some Ben Gay creme for your arms
Damn!!!! This is hands down my favorite episode I don't know why but it looks like you had your personal best amberjack and for sure it's going to be hard to beat that mutton snapper at least you got a big head to do a big old soup. Great job steve you're one hell of a angler.
Great episode. Great day out. Glad the weather down there is getting better for offshore. Keep them coming. The long-form, not-overly-edited format is great. Like real, reality TV.
Thank you for your videos. I'm sure you enjoy doing it as much as we enjoy watching them. Keeps us all coming back to your channel. Great work and dedication on your part, Thanks again..!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences so generously and honestly. I watch your videos like some folks watch a fish tank. It makes me feel like I am there. I am also soaking up info for our next family camping trip in the keys. We bring our nine year old son every year and we can just fit three smaller hobies inside the fifth wheel, so the inshore areas you show look like a safe bet with a kid who can't pedal against a strong current for too long. We always fish when we go, but this year I booked in August so we can try our hand and catching a few lobsters for supper. I love that you don't take more than you need. Even when you catch bait, you don't take in batches greater than your needs. A good example for my kid to watch (I cover his ears here and there when you get mad).
Hi Steve, every time you grunted and groaned I was grunting and groaning with you. I kept saying Come on Steve you can do it. I love watching your videos. But I wish I was there with you. Keep it up I will keep watching.
You were getting wrecked at 1st. That was 1 hell of a fight with that reef donkey. That Teramar put in work. I have that same rod. Love it. Great job Steve.😎
Darn, Steve!! I come from a family of fisherman, starting from my grandpa. But have to tell you. I always learn interesting fishing 🐟 facts from you! Thank you!
Nice video as always Steve. I uploaded a good one a few months ago fishing on a reef/wreck. Lots of action and a lot of fun. Nothing like what you were reeling in just now..
Wow. Quality of fish is amazing in this video! I have yet to have fishing this good that I complain fish being too big! Looking forward to more wreck fishing from you Steve!
Wow Steve, just wow. Winching that big AJ out of the depths was literally in the heart attack category. Two ideas for ya: 1) Split a piece of hypalon grip material, and zip-tie it just ahead of the factory foregrip. 2) Short stroking, just rapidly rising the tip a few inches and then rapidly cranking on the drop helps a lot, when dealing with deep water bruisers. I have used this technique when fighting large yellowfin and bluefin tuna in my local waters. I saw that you finally employed this technique towards the end. ; ) Keep those videos coming!
Man that vertical jigging sitting down and twisted to one side looks like it gets uncomfortable on the body after a while. Great video man! I'm going to leave the thing on while I'm working around the house. Just finished watching the whole thing. This video was enjoyable, great editing and amazing fishing, with a touch of education too! You're awesome man!
When my wife hears me watching your videos she says if she didn’t know it was a fishing channel she’d wonder what was actually going on when you say things like “it’s gonna break my tip” 😂
Love these long videos we need more of these raw footage is the best. The last fish was a beast must have lost a lot of those early on. Love the live bait at the wrecks hopefully can do more
OMG yes(2:10) that sure does look like a bunch of horse poop :-D ha! but since it's in the ocean you named it correctly. (17:04-27:20) THAT WAS AN IMPRESSIVE BATTLE...phheeeeew...time for a meal and a nap after that one :-) VERY nice Jack though, and WOW what a HUUUGE Snapper at (45:50) ! ! ! That thing is a monster size! You definitely had the proper leverage with that Shimano TLD 2-speed set up...those are my favorite go to reels.
This is by far your best video. You need to do this more, just how the drag would scream and the fight entertained me. By the way keep the good work up.
No sé si entiendas español pero por PRI era vez en todos los videos te vi sufrir para levantar una pieza muy buena pesca , buen tiempo y buena táctica , saludos y buena suerte .
It seems like ANY deep structure in Florida is possible sharking territory. Even suspended above wrecks, they find what you hook a lot of the time. 20:32 says it all, and with a snarky smile. One John Skinner video on a tower showed one small snapper landed for a bunch of boats all day. Every damn time, shark into the structure. Kind of surprised that amberjack wasn't a shark. The end made up for it.
My gosh, Steve, the fish wore you out today. They were gigantic. A dang shame the sharks got that beautiful snapper. DANG!!! Did you keep the first one? Hope so. Thanks again for bringing us along, your videos are always entertaining. Can't wait to get up early and do some fishing. Be safe.
Just re-watched this video for about the 5th time. I know that the trips to the wrecks can be physically punishing, but dang, they sure make great video. I hope that you get some weather windows to get back out there, and that the sharks haven't taken over the wrecks.
I’ve been watching your videos for a few years now.
Binged watch the olders ones.

BTW, I now have several of your short sleeve shirts in light blue and grey. Keep em coming.
One of my favorites. It cracks me up everytime I watch it. Not good.... not good..... pump and wind gain 40' and the AJ strips out 80'. LOL... this is horrible! LOL....this is miserable! Other people's self inflicted pain cracks me up.
Really miss these videos
Same
"That was a mistake!!"
*Immediately does the same exact thing again 😂
Best kayak fishing on UA-cam hands down.
Dude you had me laughing so many times during this video. All of those old man noises! I love it bro, good job that was sick!

Fantastic. A cross between MMA in a kayak and The Old Man and the Sea! Enjoyed every minute!
LOL The commentary during the fight was a riot. Theres nothing more memorable then watching your buddy get his ass handed to him. Hell, thats half the reason why I go fishing. Great format and host.
That was better than any TV show.
the sausage king of chicago?
You know, beyond all the gear, the fishing, (which I love btw) the videos, etc, you are just a really neat guy...thanks for doing what you do...Joe Robinson, Miami, Oklahoma, avid crappie fisherman.
It's not often I laugh out loud when someone hooks a big fish. @32:44 is an exception. Lol!

This guy is a proper Angler deep respect for the sporting attitude to fishing ........tight lines for now and in the future

Thanks for bringing some sunshine and smiles to cold wintery Indiana.
Please keep doing this style.. i love watching full fights
Great episode. Great day out. Glad the weather down there is getting better for offshore. Keep them coming. The long-form, not-overly-edited format is great. Like real, reality TV.
that wizzing at 10:42 ! Amazing brotha and that catch at 28:07 is a monster!
Dude watching you work like that got me super tired just watching you, and that last mutton snapper would’ve been awesome.. great video
Probably one of my favorites of your videos.
Now, that's hell of great fishing! Love this one the most. Keep the movies coming.
Best one yet! The man and the sea, all over again!
Thank you for your videos. I'm sure you enjoy doing it as much as we enjoy watching them.
Keeps us all coming back to your channel. Great work and dedication on your part,
Thanks again..!!!
Dude I literally felt tired after watching you fight that first jack lol
That was a submarine!

This was funny to watch since you usually make this look so easy. Thx for sharing. That Amberjack put up a good fight.
Yeeeees an extra long video! I wish all your videos were this long
A new sub. I’m hooked. Stud jack. Man, I got a shoulder cramp just watching.
You were getting wrecked at 1st. That was 1 hell of a fight with that reef donkey. That Teramar put in work. I have that same rod. Love it. Great job Steve.😎

This a was a great episode. A guilty pleasure I guess...watching the fish work you over like that.
Pleasant or not, seeing you pull up that big fish was amazing!
Nice video as always Steve. I uploaded a good one a few months ago fishing on a reef/wreck. Lots of action and a lot of fun. Nothing like what you were reeling in just now..
Lol, small fish, not big fish, dang it. Said no fisherman ever. Love it.
Thanks so much for this video! Just once in my life I would like to experience that kind of fishing when or lose it would be amazing!
Great vid. So fun to watch!! More of these please!!👍😆😆🤘
Great video! Those jacks are unreal!
Wow. Quality of fish is amazing in this video! I have yet to have fishing this good that I complain fish being too big! Looking forward to more wreck fishing from you Steve!
Simply awesome Steve. Amazing fight with the big AJ and that Mutton at the end was epic.

Just re-watched this video for about the 5th time. I know that the trips to the wrecks can be physically punishing, but dang, they sure make great video. I hope that you get some weather windows to get back out there, and that the sharks haven't taken over the wrecks.
