Public Land Gobblers with Tony and Sam

- Tony Peterson ventures to Nebraska to hunt spring turkeys with Sam Soholt. Hunting late season on public land with less than ideal weather proves a challenge, but you can't pick your weather and these two know how to get close to pressured birds. From staring at wet decoys out of a blind to tag team run and gun tactics, almost every turkey hunting tactic is pulled from the hat on this hunt. It's man versus bird in the Cornhusker State. Presented by @onXHunt.

Glad to see them post how hard hunting pressured animals can be.
What's the point of being glad here? Aimless killing of animals?
Tony rocks… always enjoy him on Wired to hunt… Him and Mark.. A+
Hunted 20 days until I got one on highly pressured public TX land.
Think they might be calling WAY too loud. Quiet seems to be the key. Like super quiet 🤫
Also they don’t seem to stay in the open for more than a few seconds. So hunting deep in the woods is key
"I think there are more birds here than we thought"
I completely disagree with what you call "eastern style" hunting. It is boring but I see far more guys from the Midwest do that than down here. Most of us only play with gobbling birds
Agreed. I can’t stand deer hunting for turkeys.
Tomorrow is MN opener can't wait
Do more content with Tony!
Tony,
Why talk smack about us boring Eastern hunters then sit in a blind 😂. Keep up with the good content.
Mike
Classic west coast snobs. Meanwhile they spend 3 days scraping for a single turkey , meanwhile East coast guys can go out at first light and have a Tom by 8am.
hey that's my season!
Tony, why hunt turkeys from a blind when you could do something significantly less painful like squeeze lemon juice into your eyes or something? 😂
😂😂😂😂😂. Facts
hahahahhahahahahahahahahahah. this
😂
Is that a savage renegade shotgun? I’m in the market for a new gun and not sure what I want to get yet
Benelli sbe for sure
I believe this very experienced turkey hunter must not be that experienced to make a blanket statement that boring eastern hunting is “sitting on turkeys” while western is moving until you spot a turkey. Then at the 7 minute mark while not seeing any turkeys you pop up a tent and sit yourself for hours. Explain how that’s not inconsistent. And while you stalk, for every turkey you see, there’s likely a half dozen you bump and never see as they see you first. Typically like meat eater vids- not this one.
👍🇧🇷
This is a HORRIBLE TURKEY VIDEO.
Cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would hunt turkey from a blind. Just isn’t right lol
Works if you know where the birds roost or are disabled
This is why Meateater has become boring. West coast snobs that end up empty handed because the East is just below them. Meanwhile East coast hunters are tagging out on Deer, Turkey, Duck, and everything else.
No turkeys killed? damn. Keep an eye out on my channel! I'll have my successful opening day hunt uploaded soon! With a bow no less!
"pretty boring, when compared to walking one down" - wow, given that most turkey hunters are calling birds and trying to get them to come in vs walking one down...Quite a statement.
They busted him moving 😂. Heard the gobble right on top of them and they just started moving and crawling all around 😂. They hey can see 10 times better and pick up movement the same. I would say lesson learned but idk 😬
Turnpike Troubadours ftw
Gonna see them soon at Red Rocks
Eastern Ohio never shot a turkey out of a blind 33yrs old shot more than my age all in Oh Pa all run an gun most on public but love the videos👍
