    I discovered the diving community because I'm going on holiday to Madeira and its one of the activities you can do there. No way I'd ever do it I don't think but I love watching the videos and Dive Talk I love Woody and Gus how they react to things and how they talk to each other as well. I can't decide between diving being the scariest thing ever or beautiful there are some really disturbing things out there its good to learn from mistakes you're all much braver than me

      DiveTalk is among our favorite things to watch as well. I don’t think we are brave. I just think the beauty of the caverns and caves makes you forget about your fears and the sense of adventure takes over.

    It was really tough love but guess what ? ... it shows the quality of substance you guys are made of , you took the beating ( it really was a beating , I even said that you guys should have invited the scuba instructor from Lower Orange Grove .... Lol ) learned from the experience and got better at it . We need more people like you guys on this planet of ours . Blessings .

      Thank you David! You are absolutely correct! Dive Talk is the reason we sought out cave training. They reacted to one of our videos and it hit home in all the best ways. Although there was some embarrassment, it gave us a lot of opportunity as well. We chose to focus on the good that could come of it and it has surely saved our lives a few times.
      We are honored that they feel we are worthy of their support and friendship.

      Thank you so much Miriam! We are thrilled that you appreciate our video. We learn more and more with each dive how we can best show the amazing world beneath our feet that very few people get to experience. We are truly blessed to be able to do this. And I am even more blessed that my 16 yr old chooses to do this with me. He is amazing! Feel free to check out a few of our newer videos as well. The lighting changes we’ve made have made a world of difference.

      Thank you Ryan! We are so thrilled that such a bad idea was able to be turned into an educational opportunity with Gus & Woody. They are partly responsible for us not ending up as a tragic story on their channel. We found DiveTalk shortly after I shot that video and it really helped to realign our priorities and expectations.
      So awesome to know you’re joining the world of diving. It will amaze you each and every time you get your feet wet.
      If I may offer a suggestion…I would recommend practicing at least one of your emergency drills every time you dive. Such as “out of air” with your buddy. Pay attention to your ascent speed and tank pressures obsessively.
      Good luck and please keep us posted on your journey.

      @@FoundInTheRiverAndCaves much appreciated! I’m looking forward to it. I’m actually going to be trading hobbies, skydiving for SCUBA so emergency drills are going to be a constant for this guy! The sports couldn’t be more different (obviously), but I really appreciate the focus on safety, self governance and not diving outside your limits! Hopefully I see you out there one day. Would love to see a video outlining your cave training progression!

    • @FoundInTheRiverAndCaves
      @FoundInTheRiverAndCaves  2 роки тому

      @@Ryan-rc3kq most instructors do not allow you to video your training since there is so much to focus on. If you prearrange a videographer you could document it or some instructors have people they use to film their classes. Not so lucky for us. We are going to do a compilation of clips that show us as beginners and where we are now. That might be interesting.
