I'd have considered moving from the titan x to this but the two big misses imo are the transducer mount location and the rear tankwell. That space should have been perfectly flat with no lip or large enough for a 16x16 blackpak.
Nice video! Daren Wendell's friend Jake has an XTR rigged with a bow mount Spot Lock motor. It's freaking sick. I'm going to stick with the original plan of a 2025 Native propel LTE in April 2025.
@thebeardedpaddler Maybe in the future. The new 2025 has the capability. I like to pick up a side scan finder. I really need a trailer and hitch package before a motor. Currently, I like to rooftop on my Subaru Outback. Cheap on gas. I been in your area but didn't fish. I want to bring the kayak over there. Lake Leatherwood looks like a good starting point.
I'm considering it for salmon fishing in puget sound paired with a garmin kraken. This walk through was helpful! The main thing I'm wondering about is how it does when taking water over the bow. Some of the tug boats in puget sound product very large wakes. I routinely take large wakes over the bow of my PA14. The hull handles them well. But I'm looking for a hull that can handle a larger bow-mount like the kraken.
Excellent review you give very important pros and cons and will come into play with my decision! I think if I purchase this kayak placing my transducer and mount it with my trolling motor on the front will be the better decision! Thank you for the review and appreciate all tour reviews this channel does! Tight lines take care and God bless!
I’m 71 now and to extend my kayaking fishing life I’m seriously looking at this type of hybrid yak/skiff with a foot steered Torqeedo stern motor and spot lock trolling up front. I hate the transducer on this boat but love everything else about it. Not a FFS guy and would be fine with a 2D sonar and down scan lowrance unit. Is there a reasonable way to mount a 2D transducer inside the hull?
It’s not for the faint of heart. It’s big…and heavy. I have the Unlimited and that is too much for me to lift. This would be truly impossible. I like the features though. I would say it falls more into the boat category. Love that green color!
Looking to trade in my coosa for either the pwr129 or the xtr, but I am having trouble deciding lol. I fish both greers ferry and the buffalo river so they both have pros and cons.
Great video. Best review I have seen on the XTR130
Thank you for watching!
I'm putting a Honda 5hp outboard on my XTR with my Xi3 on the bow.
@@daveohmer9700 nice!
Look forward to seeing that Dave!

I just need to wait for us to produce the transom mount for the stern.

It's large enough for a 16x16 but not much else.
Nice video!

Will you be motorizing it?

Another great video. Thanks Andy!
Appreciate that!

You can, people have been doing it for years. Many have been using plumbers putty to keep the transducer in place inside the hull

@@angryheathen3463 if you want to do both rivers and lakes then the PWR129 is the best bet.
That thing is a monster!
It is!

I am a big guy love this kayak .
It's definitely comfortable for a bigger guy
I love the layout of this kayak but it just doesn't fit my style of kayaking.
The layout is one of my favorite parts
