mohak plz make a video on tamil hindus and north indian hindus like i am seeing many argument on twitter where tamil hindus saying we arent hindus and we can eat beef etc etc i am really interested to know it but could not find a satisfying video
Great video! It took me time but i do have clarity now, i prefer giving money to beggars. Not because I am sure my money will be used wisely but because I have more and they have less. It's really none of my business to worry about how they would use it. Just like we can't control when a normal working person destroys their life with wrong decisions, we can't really control a beggar's life, they will misuse someone else's money if not mine. But if everyone stops giving them money, and give only food or clothes, then they are stripped from their freedom to grow, and they won't be able to rest knowing that they can afford their next meal, or a day off. It's their right (just like everyone else) to save and build, even if they're not earning, only beginning, and even if they misuse money and fail to do so. My job is to offer them a fair chance. I hope one day I do something with a bigger impact on the underprivileged. -Mandeep
There are certain reports that kids and old aged were forcefully pushed into begging, kids especially are the victims sometimes intentionally eyes were removed or handicapped. I have seen both but it's your wish to give money but i sometime feel whether my hard earned is not being misused or affecting someone even though I'm not sure about so finally I've come up with a solution: i take them to nearest hotel, juice centre or bakery and will provide them what they want.

@@Yourmother282 Yes , very few people are atleast speak up , In order to make India great, we have to come forward and discuss about problem and solutions , We need young politician who can understand the real issues. It will take maybe a decade but we will definitely win and change this dirty politics to a good politics where we will discuss ideas..
Yeah , here in Assam the begging is what you can find handy with a small and large town / chowks .. Mohak da is absolutely right , me and my friends observed & talked to some of them and we found out all the problems aforesaid . May Government take some steps to make them skilled (rather than distributing free things creating beneficiaries)so that they can earn the bread on their own . Regards from Assam ..

My comment will maybe seems as a bit harsh for some user but it is the reality. Most of the beggars are healthy people who can find a work(not good but decent one) but they still begs because it doesn't require any efforts and outside of temple they can easily earn enough for a day.
Excellent topic. As someone who visits different parts of India, I have always been intrigued by why begging is not as visible in TN despite having comparable or less income than say Maharashtra or Punjab. I feel the main reason is the social services such as amma kitchens, shelters, mid-day meals for school children provided by the govt. You don't have to be rich to eliminate beggary. A little bit of state support goes a long way. There is plenty of food and shelter to accommodate everyone. I feel beggary is not a social problem but rather a choice made by the society and the political class.
Did you know there is a country called china which has a population of 1.4billion which has surpassed India's population late 2022 ,So they have literally 1.2% poverty
This video gave a very dim picture of India's future. The only thing it misses, is the terrible corruption practice of the government officers of all levels, from federal to state. Without the elimination of the corrupt practice, it will be difficult to eliminate Poverty from the root.

@@lifelesson28 bruh just see in Assam literally in every street and corner you can see a bangledeshi migrant, most of them work in construction and rickshaw pullers. Most beggars are either Bangladeshi or Bihari, our local tribal never beg in cites they can live in village comfortably with agriculture and animal husbandry. Indians population in Bangladesh is negligible compared to illegal bangladeshis population in India especially, Bengal, Assam and Tripura. That's why we needed NRC and you comparing a country with two under developed states, Compare with a major state like Maharashtra or Gujarat.
@Gurmeet Aulakh Bacause it’s mostly BJP political Propaganda. Yes there are illegally immigrants, but they aren't as high as they said. Many bihari also illegally working in Bangladesh. The border area is congested and complicated, and population density is more than 1000/sq km, so you can't control these things. Bjp is ruling more than 8 years, BSF is in their control by central power. Then why they are still complaining about it. The problem is whenever they see Muslim in Border area, they tag it with illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants.
That ramzan point is tooo relatable......... You can experience that in masjid bunder , colaba - mahim dargah - mira road ...... This area are mainly gold making place for beggars ....... On an average muslim beggars make 1200 ruppess...... And this was told buy my friend who was once beggars in that area .... 🙂 ....
1200 rupees every day ..... And around 5k during Friday easily....... And they have proper timing, reserved place and even free food by muslim hotels near by daily ..... They just don't have home 🙂🥴
I'm from West Bengal and you're absolutely right many beggars aren't even beggars they just make it a business. And why government is allowing them near the train stations and tourist places it's just frustrating at first you might get emotional and give some money but the moment you give money another 10 would show up it's a never-ending cycle lol So i created a policy not to give money or food to anyone

I have been a subscriber of this channel when it had only 100k subscribers. One after another so many amazing analytical contents Mohak had shared in this channel is really commendable. Only thing that surprises me is that his channel is not growing at a faster rate. It is probably that most of the viewers on UA-cam don't want to watch free educational, analytical, socio-political-economic contents with deep understanding. Nonetheless, I thank Mohak to keep up his genuine work as he does.
10:04, despite being a Muslim i didn't knew that begging is prohibited. It may be due to the fact that how much the people around me give money to beggars but what you said about "ZAKAT" may be a little off track, it is basically a tax that we have to pay, which is 2.5% of the money that you have in your savings i.e (Your income) - (Money used for household use). At first we used to pay it to the Masjid but nowadays we pay it to the local NGOs who use this money for the locality, like buying medical equipments, installing street lights and yes, giving it to the people who need it the most.
We have a similar thing in Sikhism it is called "Dasvand" meaning to give 1/10th of your income to the society (to invest in things that helps in upliftment of society like free food, water or even sponsering a needy child's education)
Firstly: In Islam It is not permissible for anyone to ask people for money when he is not in need or he is able to earn a living. There are certain categories for whom it is permissible to ask of people. They are: the poor person who is destitute, the man who owes a debt, and the one who has been stricken by financial calamity and lost all his wealth. In these cases it is not permissible to ask for more than one needs, on condition that he does not have enough to meet his needs and is not able to earn enough for his livelihood. The scholars of the Standing Committee said: It is permissible to ask people for money, for the one who is in need and does not have enough to suffice him and he is not able to earn a living. He may ask people for as much as will meet his needs only. As for the one who is not in need, or the one who is in need but is able to earn a living, it is not permissible for him to ask and whatever he takes from people in this case is haraam for him, because of the hadeeth of Qabeesah ibn Mukhaariq al-Hilaali (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: It was narrated that Qabeesah ibn Mukhaariq al-Hilaali said: I incurred a debt (in order to reconcile between two parties) and I came to the Messenger of Allaah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) to ask him (for help) with it. He said: “Stay with us until the zakaah comes, and we will order that something be given to you.” Then he said: “O Qabeesah, asking for help is not permissible except in one of three cases: a man who has incurred a debt (in order to reconcile between two parties), for whom it is permissible to ask for help until he has paid it off, then he should refrain; a man who has been stricken by a calamity that has destroyed all his wealth, for whom it is permissible to ask for help until he gets enough to get by - or he gets enough to meet his basic needs; and a man who is stricken by poverty and three men of wisdom among his people acknowledge that So and so has been stricken by poverty, then it becomes permissible for him to ask for help until he gets enough to get by - or to meet his basic needs. Apart from these cases asking for help, O Qabeesah, is haraam and the one who begs is consuming something haraam.” Narrated by Ahmad, Muslim, an-Nasaa’i and Abu Dawood. And (it is haraam) because of the hadeeth, “Whoever asks of people to accumulate wealth is asking for a live coal” and the hadeeth “Charity is not permissible for a rich person, or for one who is strong and healthy.” Repulsing or chiding the beggar is also not allowed because Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): “and do not chide the one who asks for help” [ad-Duha 93:10]. What is referred to here is rebuking him and raising one’s voice against him; this includes both the one who asks for money and the one who asks about shar‘i rulings. But this does not rule out offering guidance to the beggar who is asking wrongfully, and advising him with wisdom and beautiful preaching. As for what we often see in the streets or in the mosques of beggars who ask people for money, they are not all truly needy people. In fact it has been proven that some of them are independent of means, and it has been proven that there are gangs to exploit those children and make them ask people for money. This does not mean that there are no cases that are truly deserving. Hence the one who wants to give money to one of these people should try to use his own intuition to work out whether he is genuine or not. Secondly: What is well known among all the scholars, and is the opinion of the majority and almost reaches the point of consensus among the scholars of the righteous salaf, is that zakaah is not to be spent on building mosques or buying books etc., rather it is to be spent on the eight categories which are mentioned in the aayah of Soorat al-Tawbah [9:60], namely: the poor; the needy; those employed to collect the funds; those whose hearts are to be softened towards Islam; to release captives; for those who are in debt; for Allaah’s Cause; and for wayfarers.
In Islam, we have to give 2.5% of charity from the savings each year. As a Muslim, I strictly follow this So i usually have have donate around 1Lac+ to people who do not have cumulative cash or jewelry for more than 50k. I usually give my zakat to these beggers in an around my area. But I have stopped giving zakat to beggers. As recently I found many from good earning family also start begging without any valid reason. So now I started donating my zakat to ngos or madarsa which are giving good education to youth to make them employable. 😊
I'm sorry guys I've no hatred towards India. I love every South Asian folks. But I would like to mention because of our open border system. A lot of people from india specifically bihar and slightly up too in Nepal. Ofc there are many nepali beggers as well but majority of them seem and are from ind. It has been very irritating from past 3 months. Every religious sites there are tons of people begging. They climb on people. Pull their leg. , even spit. I once asked one girl near Boudhha she was literally pulling my leg. I asked her kaha se ho, Nepal se hi ho? Then she didn't speak. I said I'll give you 50 rupee If you answer me, then she said bihar me gau he. Definitely there is some BIG RACKET behind this just like human trafficing. Our gov isn't very concerning so there is no point behind qsing government. I hope nobody takes this as a hate comment but would just like to mention it because of the subject been discussed.
I'm from Nepal too. And yes I once too asked this lady who was carrying infant. He was crying a lot. I asked didi esari bacha narakhnu. But she said paisa dena hai toh do jaldi. She was damn arrogant tho. I replied where is your husband here and there after questioning her little bit. Of course she was annoyed but then she said she was from some supal or suapaul gau which is in bihar as a Nepali I don't like that but as human I feel for them. Our government along with Indian government should take some action.

Not just informative but indeed an impactful video. What I use to do while interacting with beggers: 1) I personally look at the person whether he has some issues like Physically disabled, age factor, health etc. If the person aged between 30-50 and physically completely fit then I avoid giving them money. 2) Instead of money, prefer giving food items, fruits etc. 3) On special occassions, like bithday or parents anniversary, I love to spend money on them, also intercation with them for psychological support. 4) What I really like the idea of Rajasthan govt like shelter, health support. Many beggers do not have access to even basic amenities. Constitution provide Right to dignified life for everyone. It's not just the duty of state but also of the individual, to help them in our capacity, just on economic front but also on knowledge, social front. Thanks a lot for video :)
Appreciate the Rajasthan govt's action to enhance the skills of Beggers by skill training for 2-3weeks & enable them a income generating job This will solve the Involuntary Begger issue. But the other factors, needs specialised planning & execution

9:33 On the topic of self-inflicted injury, the context - I am from nepal. Real Story, there was a begger who had a injured leg and use to beg next to Kathmandu Mall. My colleague use to see him daily and he had an open wound in a leg and that begger had that same wound for more than 4 months. so my colleague tried to help him and with help of an organization took him to a hospital and treated and bandaged the injury. his leg was infected as per the doctor and if this continued he might have to face a leg amputation. he was left with some food, bandaged leg and medicine and few supplies. after a week the same begger had another similar wound and later it was found out. he use to self inflict injury on himself so he would get money and this money he would spend on alcohol and ciggerattes.
Omg 🤐 same here I am uttarakhand, haldwani I have been here for 9 year In these year every time I visited the market A little near road with huge traffic and crowd and road was just a slim way colony I have seen a old(now she seems to be old only little)women perfectly fine and a person being disabled and many man , children and women, where they sit they had fruits, biscuits and other things people donated and sometimes or barely few incidents When we just come off auto (taxi) I children big and small start attacking on my mom purse by opening their ✋hand saying give, give money sometimes they all fight from each other and all are laughing I don't mean that they shouldn't but it's situations makes them it's less even there are incidents so I am now always confused that should I help Or not?
Great work. The staticial data you provided makes so much sense. I hope this video changes how people perceive beggers and be more kind towards them. You changed my perspective I hope you change the country's perspective. Good luck
For the first time I'm commenting on your video although I'm an old subscriber... So I live in kolkata since 3 years...I' had been in north kolkata where I rarely saw beggers on streets but now I live at kalighat in south kolkata and here I can see begging is a business now a days... may be some of them are "majboor" but many of them have taken it as their profession. I would love to tell everyone that help them who can't help themselves like aged persons.
That's a really important issue to talk about but unfortunately nobody talks about that. We all encounter beggers in our daily basis . Sometimes we feel sorry for them & sometimes irritates us. Thank you❤

Every time I face a scenario you have a video for me to explain the roots of it.. like a week back when i was in Surat for a religious occasion with almost 75000 members of the community we saw almost hundreds of beggers chasing the attendees and I was having a hard time thinking why would they bother us at every step and at one point I was wondering wether we should refine ourselves from actually giving them but now I know we should always help as much as we can..thanks Mohak
I liked it. How calmly you agreed that people are going to disagree on your religion point and probably abuse you but you kept your point and asked them to think and comment if they disagree.
Sometimes i do feel that there're many problems in india which are very fundamental and have no solution. Apart from religion, geographical/climatic conditions does make major impact on human behaviour. In the northern countries due to harsh climate and scarcity of resources people over there need to be very active and innovative unfortunately throughout the history we were so blessed from nature which makes us unproductive.
You are right mohak, i also find it very frustrating that if i should give them money or not but i think giving them food or old clothes is better than giving Money because we don't know where money is going but they can use other things. Also if you have access then you should try to suggest them works they can do for a living.
Do you always know where your money is going? When you bribe your local police for not wearing helmet, your milk man, your politicans, vegetables vendors etc. Thats a dumb excuse for not giving money to anyone.
Dear Mohak, I do not understand Hindi as I am a 2nd generation Malaysian Indian. I speak only Tamil, English and Malay. Some 3-4 years ago I visited Tamil Nadu and my husband insisted that we stay in a poor area, to see the " real Indians" What a surprise. We saw no beggars nor squatters. We saw one drunk but he seem to us of a northern Indian origin. The eating places were very clean, food services were fast as lighting and the people so helpful. No one made any attempt to cheat us . The only problem I had was that it was hard to find a meat eating place and because I am from Malaysia( a foreigner) , I was charged double the price of locals to all entrances of exhibits, science centres and ect. (a common practice in all countries). The churches were mind boggling(amazing) and the services beautiful. Pondichery was so clean, you could eat off the road. There are so many places we did not see. I also like your roads, so wide. Thank you India.
Wide roads are not a good thing in a hot climate. Also I am a tourist in Tamil Nadu currently staying in Chidambaram which is probably like 25 kms away from pondicherry and there are plenty of beggars here. Will be visiting pondi day after tomorrow. Happy to see you enjoyed your stay.

2. means capitalism right? But then why do WB has the highest no. Of beggars inspite of being ruled by Communist Party of India(Marxist) led government? Is this because most Indian commies aren't true followers of socialism but opportunists! Probably yes, I do not see among most of them the spirit, ambition and nature of Lenin or Che Guevara not even close to them or early modern indian communists like Bhagat Singh , MN Roy.
Thanks for making a video on this topic which nobody considers a real problem as if seeing beggars on the streets has become part of our day to day lives. Mostly people just ignore them without thinking about their survival. Hope a solution gets implemented to support them. Meanwhile, we can help them collectively as a society. It also takes a lot of courage to change ones opinion which has formed over the years of following other people and acknowledge that maybe you were not right all along. More power to you.
Hats off for the fact you are talking about this issue!!And also if you are worried that giving money to beggars will may or may not lead to right person give them food instead as it doesn't matter much as long as anyone is eating it❤❤
Here in bombay i used to see a woman with a baby making a pathetic face and asking for money every night on my way home. I almost never give money to beggers, so did not pay attention to her. But i hated the fact that she was carrying a baby in the traffic and noise. One day i just lost it and gave her rs 50. Didnt say anything. I will never forget the look of just relief and gratitude on her face. The signal was on for some time after i gave her the money and i saw that she walked away and did not beg anymore, at least for that night. I did not see her the next night either. Perhaps she just had enough money to feed the baby for a couple of days...
Your eyes at the end of the vid, in the conclusion part. They say it all. And it's said that eyes never lie. Kudos Mohak !! We need people like you who can bring this kind of dialectic, discussion on the table.
Sadly, as a daily commuter on the western railway line of Bombay, I can say that I do see beggars(mostly children) entering the train compartments during the afternoon hours. It's just a disheartening when I see children as old as 7 or 10 with no footwear entering the trains begging for money or trying to sell coloring books with heavy loads of those on their backs. Once, when I was travelling through the FC compartment from Andheri, back home from my CET prep class, I saw a boy barely 8 y.o entering the train. He had no slippers on his feet, torn clothes and looked to malnourished that my heart broke after seeing that impoverished child. He was walking from seat begging for money, when he approached me, rather than giving him money I gave him a packet of patties from Merwan which I had brought previously after my class ended. I didn't have my breakfast that day and hadn't eaten anything since I left for class that morning, and I intended to eat those patties during the afternoon, on the way home. But that boy looked to famished that he probably hadn't eaten in 3 days. It's a pitiful sight that I'm used to seeing everyday while travelling by train. It's disgraceful of our politicians to farcically bicker over religion, when children of both Hindus and Muslims have to sleep with an empty on some nights!!
Lol. Their parents are responsible for this. If they don't have home, job then why the hell they gave birth. Government is not responding for this. In foriegn countries they don't give birth to kids if they are poor.
Why don't people understand this problem. Religion has been made utmost priority when it should be paid minimal attention to. But It's the thing that gets them the votes. If only people wouldnt fall for this propoganda
Salute bruh. Politicians are meant for power and greed rather focusing upon basic needs of people. At least a small home, and a free intermediate medical services, compulsory class 12th education and good education background.
Very interesting episode Mohak! I feel many are now 'occupational beggars' just because of 'easy money'. Some beggars die with hoards of cash found by cops in their dwellings. There are some people who begged and made their child an engineer and a clerk who sincerely worked from 9-5 but couldn't afford a seat for his child. I have also seen instances of people being 'creative' and sometimes 'polished' in their 'style of begging' like asking in English 'sir can you give me ten rupees I will return you!' 😳 and yes religious beliefs are a low hanging fruit that's encouraging even not so poor people to become atleast 'seasonal beggars' if not occupational like during the month of Ramzan or on Fridays. That's also the reason why it has become difficult to find maid servants. But again people and their lethargy is to be blamed for this rising population in begging. For instance Islam encourages people to search for deserving ones those who need alms but feel ashamed to ask' but people may find this a little difficult task that requires moving out of comfort zones so they want to quickly get rid of their charities (Zakath, sadqa, fitra) by giving it to anybody and everybody who they come across easily. This has encouraged too many beggars who even travel from other cities and come over in anticipation of bigger charities. And now if you have observed on streets these beggars are also sharpening their skill by being more aggressive, strategic and tactful in their approach and then thereby is also a sense of competition and a sense of achievement among them.

5 yrs back, I was coming out of the Kashmiri Gate Metro Station, and a street urchin boy came up to me and asked for money. I didn't want to give him money, but instead I bought a veg aloo tikki burger for him from the McDonald's there near the Metro Station. When I found the boy again and offered it to him, he just threw the burger on the road and called me a "kutti" and ran away from there. The auto wallahs standing there didn't seem surprised, and told me that the beggers and street urchins around that area only demand money, and never accept food from anyone. I was pretty taken aback.

After seeing this video...I am now more sure of what I was thinking and what I planned for...and that I am not the only one With these thouhts....So thanks bro... and GREAT VIDEO btw!!!
My physics teacher used to say about Beggars life. He told that each beggar has joined a group of other beggars who have a designated place to beg. Any outsider can be punished by them accordingly.
Thank you for covering this topic on beggars - Whether real beggars or mafia beggars - this is a social problem and hope many in India watch your videos (including govt officials) and that we all work together in educating / adopting beggar children to reduce this problem. The govt alone cannot solve this problem even though they can bring about population control measures.
This is exactly what I was looking for! Recently I travelled in train for a short distance and within just 30 minutes there were 8 beggers showed one by one! huge increase than ever before

A decent video Mohak. But you could have also added a few points in the beginning, and in the end. One is, overpopulation, where all of this begins. The lack of perception and awareness within the economically weaker sections, due to the lack of education(or free education). And aapne starting mein bola tha that ye ek ‘social’ problem hai; Shouldn’t the term be ‘socio-economic’?

Public distribution system se Rashan milna .10 kg . wheat 5 kg rice 1 oil ka packet 3 ..rain basera....night main sone ke liye .. 4 ....part time se income jaruri hona 5.. delhi main buses free all women and girls. 6 ... Health related . mohallah clinic and charities kaam kerte hai Etc ....but log shi health Wale bhi bhikh mangte hai ..jab gussa aata ...😞
This analysis feels wrong to me. I live in a small town in Rajasthan and I usually never give money to any beggars except if it is a old age person. One day a woman carrying her kid asked me for money and I simply said I won’t but she kept pushing the same line. So, i just asked her is she willing to work for 1500 rupees per month salary just to wipe and mope the floor in my house (i offered more than standard prices) and she denied. She said she has a baby and no one offer any work. I said I’m ready to offer cleaning job in my and two neighbors house. We will pqy you 5k for almost one hour of work. She still said no and she just started talking bullshit and cursing me. Moral of the story- most beggars in india don’t want to work and you can try the same by offering some work and they will deny it
This is a very important video. Rarely can someone make a video like this. Whenever I see someone in poverty, I wonder if that guy will be able to change his situation in a lifetime or not. I think the solution is to provide a good education to the children who are in poverty. And also to train and educate unemployed people with skills like plumbing, electrician , driving, etc. Government support is really essential for their rehabilitation.
Correction: 10:07 Zakaat (arabic term, which is an act of charity). They don't ask for it (zakat) Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam, and every Muslim is required to pay 2.5% of his wealth annually. (ie. it is in no way begging, as nobody asks/begs for it rather it is an act which a muslim must act upon so that this begging problem doesn't occur) In addition, in islam begging is prohibited.

In Sikhism there is concept of DasVandh - i.e Sikhs donate 1/10 of their earnings to the needy & poor! I feel not just Sikhism, but all Religions teach charity- no wonder beggars misuse this and throng outside Temples & Gurudwaras usually
Really good research... One point.. Zakat should be given to deserving relatives first so they can meet their immediate requirements.. Give them without they ask Secondly to neighbours then to Any student, any residential school, any orphan, any widow any disabled person and like.. Unfortunately so many undeserving greedy people receive zakat and deprive the deserving one..
My friend used to always give money to beggar especially kids but once he tried to give em food but surprisingly kid refused, hence food is not the basic need for most beggers. Since then he stopped giving money to begger, he shifted to giving them biscuit or other packed food. Now, most of times he gets refused.
Same thing happened with us. An old lady was asking for some money , my mom instead offered her fruits , & to our astonishment the old lady quite arrogantly refused n started cursing us.

Such a great answer !
ok
There are certain reports that kids and old aged were forcefully pushed into begging, kids especially are the victims sometimes intentionally eyes were removed or handicapped. I have seen both but it's your wish to give money but i sometime feel whether my hard earned is not being misused or affecting someone even though I'm not sure about so finally I've come up with a solution: i take them to nearest hotel, juice centre or bakery and will provide them what they want.

My comment will maybe seems as a bit harsh for some user but it is the reality. Most of the beggars are healthy people who can find a work(not good but decent one) but they still begs because it doesn't require any efforts and outside of temple they can easily earn enough for a day.
Dude that's a fact not for everyone but ya some people don't want to work
Research says otherwise. Where is your research please publish
That is one of the reason of unemployment.
"People don't want to work"
Sorry but jobs are not easy to find and there's no point in doing a job that pays less then begging either. So your statement is not entirely true
Because begging is a business in India...It's a very well organized sinister business.
I will also add tamil nadu is very developed that's why you see less beggars. Whereas in wb and Bihar you find more cause of less development.
And the lack of decentralization
Population is the main problem all of this
No one can destroy that😁
Did you know there is a country called china which has a population of 1.4billion which has surpassed India's population late 2022 ,So they have literally 1.2% poverty

This video gave a very dim picture of India's future. The only thing it misses, is the terrible corruption practice of the government officers of all levels, from federal to state. Without the elimination of the corrupt practice, it will be difficult to eliminate Poverty from the root.
The program mentioned in the video literally teaches the person to come back to working society, not giving them cash. It's a good start IMO.

Firstly:
In Islam It is not permissible for anyone to ask people for money when he is not in need or he is able to earn a living.
The scholars of the Standing Committee said:
It is permissible to ask people for money, for the one who is in need and does not have enough to suffice him and he is not able to earn a living.
And (it is haraam) because of the hadeeth, “Whoever asks of people to accumulate wealth is asking for a live coal” and the hadeeth “Charity is not permissible for a rich person, or for one who is strong and healthy.”
Repulsing or chiding the beggar is also not allowed because Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): “and do not chide the one who asks for help” [ad-Duha 93:10].
Secondly:
What is well known among all the scholars, and is the opinion of the majority and almost reaches the point of consensus among the scholars of the righteous salaf, is that zakaah is not to be spent on building mosques or buying books etc., rather it is to be spent on the eight categories which are mentioned in the aayah of Soorat al-Tawbah [9:60], namely: the poor; the needy; those employed to collect the funds; those whose hearts are to be softened towards Islam; to release captives; for those who are in debt; for Allaah’s Cause; and for wayfarers.

What I use to do while interacting with beggers:
1) I personally look at the person whether he has some issues like Physically disabled, age factor, health etc.

His videos are so informative , I literally binge watch them.
Thank you for bringing to light such critical issues with such detailed analysis. 🙏
Are you pure Tamil or mixed with Chinese or malay
Wide roads are not a good thing in a hot climate. Also I am a tourist in Tamil Nadu currently staying in Chidambaram which is probably like 25 kms away from pondicherry and there are plenty of beggars here. Will be visiting pondi day after tomorrow. Happy to see you enjoyed your stay.

Hats off
Salute bruh. Politicians are meant for power and greed rather focusing upon basic needs of people. At least a small home, and a free intermediate medical services, compulsory class 12th education and good education background.
Sahi baat bhaiya. Politicians are just thieves are
Very interesting episode Mohak!
Very few intelligent Muslim in India, you seems to be an exception, excellent observation

Moral of the story- most beggars in india don’t want to work and you can try the same by offering some work and they will deny it
Never give a single coin to beggars, donate to old age homes and orphanages

In addition, Zakat has many wisdoms which includes spiritual as well.
there's a whole lot to it but I'm afraid I won't be able to do justice with the proper message as I am not a native English, I might generate errors while trying to type.

Covid worsened the situation of poor people. Many resorted to begging.

Really good research...
One point.. Zakat should be given to deserving relatives first so they can meet their immediate requirements.. Give them without they ask
Secondly to neighbours then to
Any student, any residential school, any orphan, any widow any disabled person and like..
