    As a black american, I’d say niko was lucky he made it out alive. Because here in america, we have places called “sundown” towns. And that’s usually where black people don’t go to because of them being at risk of coming up missing and dead at the hands of racists of those towns. I understand he thought it was funny to do that in america, but where he’s not from america and doing things like this can get him hurt for real. Especially because many people in america carry guns.

      I'm surprised he wasn't threatened or killed tbh but those kind of towns tend to communicate with each other. It's probably because he said he was from BBC and saying why KKK aren't racist, so the police and people who would have normally followed and threatened them weren't called up.

      For sure. When I saw him pull up in that hick town to the kkk leaders house, confederate license plate and all, I was getting real nervous for him. He probably doesn't realize that the people in these towns can be legit crazy, and nobody is gonna save him since the cops there aren't gonna help. It's insane how our country can be so modern and yet still so backwards in these rural areas.

    I lived in Arkansas my entire life and I can confidently say that he's playing with his life. I'm black and the community knows where we can and can't go and when it's safe to do so. All it takes is one wrong turn and your surrounded by confederate memorabilia and its easy to get lost in the woods if you don't know the area. It's not a secret, in the end you learn to mind your business, let them self segregate in peace.
    Your GPS would give you shortcuts but it's safer especially in the evenings to take the main roads and avoid backroads.

    Remember, the United States isn’t the only country in the world who has racist/prejudiced people. I am sure this was a surprise to them because South Korea doesn’t experience much of this since they are a homogenous country, though I am sure if a person of color were to go to South Korea they may experience some issues like this to a degree maybe not as direct as this guy though but in other ways.

      I was surprised by the racist stories i’ve heard from people who’ve travelled to south korea. Usually you look at the good in a country before looking at the bad side but some people don’t at all and romanticize other countries. Some countries are open with their racism and others are better at covering it up. There’s truly no where in the world where racism and many other issues aren’t a problem.

    I am born and raised in Arkansas and have been to the Harrison area a few times. Its a complicated place. Most the hardest racist do live in Zinc, but saying they live in Zinc is like saying all the a**holes in Seoul actually live in Gangnam. As an asian person you don't want to live there. People will treat you differently just shopping at the walmart. You also have to deal with subtle racism and microaggression much more than outright angry racism.

Dude was from korea, and she kept calling him chinaman. She literally knew the difference because she asked me what ethnicity I was and explained he was korean. "Subtle" racism is more borderline stupidty than it is racism. Other experiences I've had there are, they thought I was mexican and tried speaking spanish to me...when again, I'm very obviously asian, my eyes are very squinty and i'm pale. I do not look hispanic at all. I was also with my family, we really don't look hispanic.

    Honestly when I saw clips from his video I just thought of how dumb it was? I think because he’s British he doesn’t fully understand how evil these ppl are and that if they could they would hurt him very very very bad. Racism is very dangerous in this country and something black Americans have to deal with from the moment they are born till the moment they die. white racists are a thing in america, and theyre scary sure... but as a mix korean most of the racism i experience first hand is from latino or black co-workers. nothing crazy. but there is more than a double standard in America for how much racism is acceptable. theres in fact a standard for each skin color, its bananas.

    The fact that you can shoot people for trespassing in most states (27) in the US makes this super scary. I know it is technically a legal gamble to do so and "fear of great bodily harm or death" is very up for interpretation but it is not illagal. Crazy!!

And do not be fooled by white liberials and progressives they are just as racist.

    My only hope is that just because of this video, they don’t view all of the United States that way. That man does not represent the mentality of Americans at all. I’m an undocumented immigrant from Mexico and I’ve lived here most of my life. I’ve always been very open about my undocumented status and I’ve had very few negative experiences. Pretty sure you experience this in the vast majority of countries, it’s not just the U.S.

    • @TheOneBeing1345

      Its common of foreigners to think that way which I understand, most of the news we hear from the US are about School shootings, Minorities being discriminated and etc, when foreigners look at this they probably think " I dont wanna take my family to this country " for fear of these things happening to them which sucks. I've visited San Diego its an awesome place to be in but I understand coming from a foreigners POV.

    • @danahi14
      @danahi14 2 роки тому +4

      @@TheOneBeing1345 I understand what you mean. I just see such a sharp contrast between the reactions of the US and other countries and its problems. Mexico unfortunately has the reputation of corrupt police officers and drug cartels. However, I’ve seen many comments get plenty of hate for saying “I don’t want to go to Mexico because of X.” The same does not apply to the USA. If foreigners say anything negative about the U.S., it’s accepted and deemed as universal. It’s not true. Every country has its problems. The biggest problems by far in the USA are school shootings, mental health, and the healthcare system. In other countries, it’s different problems.

      As a black American, I’d rather them see the US as this. True, not all of the US is bad, but racism is EVERYWHERE. It’s better to push these things into light than to hide it behind an “American Dream.” The USA isnt some glamourous, safe & umproblematic country and I thinknthat if more people see this, they’ll be able to sympathize with people of color more. Especially people who don’t live in America. Many non Americans think we (people of color) have it good when it’s not true. I’ve experienced racism almost everyday of my life and I’m only 18. So yeah, I’d rather them see America for how it is than see it how white people wants them to.

    • @danahi14
      @danahi14 2 роки тому +5

      @@MirueYT Rather than see it how white people want to see it? I want them to see the United States as what it is. A normal country that has it’s good sides and it’s bad sides. I’m a Mexican citizen, and I want foreigners to see the USA as that. It’s not just what “whites” want. The United States has many things it can improve on. And I mean A LOT. However, that doesn’t mean it is a bad country to live in. Even for POC. Many of the foreigners I know are really happy with the USA because they escaped their kidnappers and cartels chasing them. Despite not ONE of them having a legal status in this country, they are living better than they did in their home country. It’s good to see the good sides to the USA and not just the bad because THAT is the reality. There’s positives and negatives to everything.
