been playing Unholy DK for a while and was already pretty familiar with it, this guide helped fill in a few gaps that I over looked. awesome job with this guide man!
Great video very helpful. UH dk was my main all through wotlk n cata but I stopped playing him in mop now im startimg up again and this was a good refresher. One thing I noticed in your macro section about your lichborne heal macro is that you dont physically need to target yourself in the macro to use it. If you type it as /cast [target=insert name] death coil it automatically casts the ability on you. It just makes things a bit more smooth to me
I dark sim'd a pally in 2s when he used his bubble we both had 10-20k health and I was able to heal out of it with death pact and my pet killed him. THANK GOD YOU METIONED THAT GLYPH, IT SAVED MY TEAM
I agree, in every 20 min guide I put out there's bound to be atleast 1 or 2 mistakes I might make. As far as the lichborne macro posted in the video it does work, but you lose your target. This marco will stop you from losing your target while allowing you to heal yourself making it more optimal. As far as the glyph of IBF goes it really comes down to your playstyle. Some people like it, some people dont. Give it a try, and judge for yourself.
good guide, altho is you might hear the music was abit loud. but a few things. crit is not a bad stat at all for UH dk pvp, its rather very very good, haste is by far the weakest stat, since you already have unholy prescence wich you should learn to use correctly. also there is no need for festering strike as the healer can just cleanse them off and since you can now use pleague strike to put out all diseases on one target. and also another macro wich is good is /cast leap /cast Gnaw wich makes your pet leap to the target and then stun him, wich could be an additional stun for the Off- target, and also make a focus macro for it. otherwise i really liked this guide, and found it usefull when i started playing dk! keep it up!

i disagree with this stat priority :< haste in 5.4 isn't very effective for unholy and never really was, blood tap instantly generates a death rune so waiting on runes is rarely a thing that exists.so gemming/forging to protect yourself against a super rare scenario is ..well ... rarely useful. i'd suggest any unholy dk to go strength>mastery>crit this build will mean over all more burst ..mastery for unholy based attacks,death coil and dots with high strength to icrease the crit damage modifier and a decent crit rating ( %16+) to make those huge crits land.

The lichborne self heal macro works better if you put yourself on focus and /tar @focus (I'm not sure if that's the proper way to specifically type the focus macro but u can look it up). That way you don't have to re-target if you're in a RBG :). You can also macro in your anti-magic shield as long as u have the glyph so you can't be cc'd while healing yourself :).

Next,the enduring infection,whoever uses that is crazy, you dont want that damage red on your targets. You've earned a sub though :) .

I justed dinged my dk 5 days ago, starting to gear for pvp , and i can see unholy potential, i have like 5 pvp crafted items and necros can even destroy the most geared healers ( or at least make a noticeble difference) :p

I would add /targetlasttarget at the end so that you swap your target back to your enemy. another self cast macro you can use, that dont change your target is #showtooltip Lichborne /cast Lichborne /cast [target=player] Death Coil replace "player" with your name if this for some reason wont work. this way you wont target yourself, but you will still cast death coil on you :) got a few tips for my unholy dk. i've been rolling as frost and wanted to give unholy a try

If you dont want to untarget ur current target if ur in rbgs, u want to use this macro instead /cast [target=player] death coil, which makes u instantly cast it on urself without changing targets
Yeah I agree, at the time I was editing this I was having some audio problems, since then I've found a fix for it, so in future videos and guides this shouldn't be a problem again.
ey man ! great vid but i got a question.. the reason u dont use scourge strike its because it doesnt give u any death runes? if so , scourge strike does deal almost double damage than blood strike . oh and btw isnt festering strike our single target nuke spell? peace

i just started playing unholy i am finding it very hard to play! why dont you have the trinket that removes stunt? isnt it important for arena? and do all your stats get trasnfered to pet? like crit etc?
Have you tried to use Unholy Frenzy on ur Gargoyle? Without unholy frenzy ur pet will be doing 10x30k but if you use unholy frenzy on ur gargoyle it will do 15x30k ( 30k as example ) Please tell me if you ever tried it and what you think about it :)

Man i do everything u sayd in this video but my damage is pretty low yet , i dont know i start play dk about 2 months ago , my gems are 80 str + 160 mastery , reforging crit for haste and mastery but i still doing a shit DPS , like 30k in plague strike to start put the deseases , ice touch do 4k , i dont know what to do to increase my damage , i saw many dks stacking 160 strengh in all gem slots , but they are full pridefull , i still full grievous , help me i need one more op melee class. ^^

What about PvE DK? =( I want to play as a good DD but I cannot mannage to do good damage... (to be honest, my random raid teammates laugh at me ;P But I am not playing the "great saviour" so it doesn't really matter...)

U forgot the best tip The best tip is to play it the way it feel correct for u also don't copy other people game style then other class get to learn ways to destroy us but apart for on that u did a good job with the rest but suggestion unholy blight is also good =p
That would make sense if Affl. DoTs would no benefit from haste. But they do... DK dots not. Haste for UH DK is only good for rune regeneration and nothing else. Autoattack... yeah.

I love you so much for this. I know you can do a ton of damage slamming your hand on the keyboard as a DK but unholy actually has strategy behind it.

you always use Death Runes for Necrotic, always. If you want to use Blood Boil or Chains you have regular runes for that.

Also in the stat priority I said to reforge mainly into mastery not haste, which increases your overall damage output.

I don't agree with the breaking of socket bonuses. I actually get more strength and mastery and haste from gemming into the bonuses.
