    With a physical disability due to birth defect a trike is my only option,. To operate a car i use hand controls. ALL of my strength is in my upper body. Driving a trike for me is very easy in every way! I am very grateful for the folks at Harley Davidson for the trike. THANK YOU HD!

    I just bought a 2021 with 457 miles on it, and I have ridden one before in Milwalkee with my brother-in-law, and after about 50 miles I felt confident, even in the turns, but I agree with others it is very different then 2 wheels. I have the Venon Green model, and have added a number of creature extras, amd am VERY happy with this bike, and your right it shure does attract attention.

    They need to change out the rear suspension to a wishbone suspension then they would have an awesome Trike.
    I put a thousand dollar set of shocks on the rear of my Freewheeler and barely improved the ride .
    That straight axel it terrible.

    • @OMGMOTO
      @OMGMOTO  Рік тому

      It was a stiffer ride than I am used too. That would make it smooth.

    Hello, I have owned a Canam Trike since 09 & have grown to love it. My wife was hit head on by a distracted motorist in 08 and can’t ride with me on a normal two wheeler. I went out and test drove all the 3 wheelers I could find at the time & the Spyder was the smoothest. I test road an HD at bike week in Laconia want happy with the constant shaking & vibrations from the engine. Especially at a stop light. My question is, has that improved? I have seen several videos and don’t notice any vibration in those clips.

    • @OMGMOTO
      @OMGMOTO  6 місяців тому +3

      The vibration is there but probably not as much as an earlier model. They have really toned down a lot of the vibration in the m8. My v twin shakes like crazy. I have yet to ride the spider but I want to for sure. I appreciate you watching the video and commenting.

    I rode a dirt bike once as a kid & almost died. Now I’m a U.S. Army combat veteran with stability & dizziness issues. Literally 5 minutes on my dad’s Spyder & I was hooked, now I have my own. He has a 2024 Tri glide now, and we both think it steers like a three wheeler, kinda weird. And both agree that the Spyder is much smoother and steers like a 4 wheeler. Def an acquired taste, as are the RR tracks. As far as staying in the middle of the lane, forget about it! Lol. The more you manhandle it, the rowdier they get. Lessen ur grip and kinda allow it follow the contour of the road, they’re much easier to drive. The wind? Yeah it sucks on these!

    • @OMGMOTO

      I agree with the 3 wheeler ride feel. The wind was crazy feeling on this. I have not been on a spyder yet.

    We, too, own a Spyder and are thinking about getting a Harley trike. I think the hardest part for me will be shifting with the clutch. The Spyder you have to manually shift, but there is no clutch. Enjoyed your video.

    I bought the bike in this video, and last night I took my first ride (which was about 100 miles of CA-35 in California). I encountered a lot of the same contrasts with riding a 2-wheeler. The H-D 3-wheeler attracts a lot more attention, turns a lot of heads. Good looking bike. I'm still trying to get comfortable with and learn the feedback sensations. At first it felt like the bike was going to flip over when I'd hit bumps or waves in the road, but I learned I could lean forward a little and the "loss of control" feeling went away. So far I really like the trike. Wish it got better mileage. I think right now, after 18 years of not riding, there's a lot more machine in that 114 than there is rider in the saddle. I have a lot to learn, and a lot to re-learn.

    I've been riding Trikes since I bought my 2019 Tri Glide Ultra and my experiences were nothing like yours. I just bought a 2024 Road Glide 3 and it is even faster and smoother than my 2019. I live about 10 miles from Palm Beach Harley and have ridden the same roads. The suspension needs to be adjusted from stock for sure to get the softer ride. I put 10 lbs. preload in my shocks and 26 lbs air in my rear tires. Thanks for the video!

    I've ridden 2 wheeled motorcycle for 30 years. In 2019, I went to buy a third Road King and the dealer had a'19 Tri-glide Ultra DEMO with 49 miles on it. I decided to try it and to my surprise I loved it. I ended up buying the DEMO and have been enjoying it ever since. I noticed all the little quirks that you mention but after riding the bike a couple hundred mile I got used to them. The biggest thing to realize is that you are a lot wider. Can't ride the left side of the road (unless you like getting shaken up by the centerline markers). The only thing that still is noticeable is the three-wheel stance of the bike does not take rough , uneven roads very well. Railroad tracks are the worst. Sold rear axle has no forgiveness.

    • @OMGMOTO
      @OMGMOTO  Рік тому +1

      I could see where it would take a little time to get used to this bike and adjust my riding style to the three wheel stance. I truly enjoyed riding the bike and I would never thought I would like it so much. Thank you , for watching.

      I got a 2020 same thing here I rode it once and fell in love with it . Zero issues with its handling and it makes a better presence on the road . I think they are way safer than two wheels

  • @oldbikenewman
    @oldbikenewman 7 місяців тому +2

    My perspective is a little different because i started riding when i was an adult and my first experience was with a Can-Am Spyder so my adjustment was more when i got my Road King. Now that i have the Road King and a Freewheeler, i honestly don't think about a transition when riding one or the other. I think you mentioned this in your video but hitting bumps are definitely different on 2 wheels versus 3, but other than that i kind of naturally fall into "trike mode" or "bike mode". I will say that my Road King is a little more comfortable, but probably because i ride it solo and it has more rubber on the tires. Godspeed

    • @OMGMOTO
      @OMGMOTO  7 місяців тому +1

      Very interesting and owning both I am sure you adapt quickly to the different rides. The road King is one of the most comfortable bikes out there. The bumps for me were very different. I really enjoyed riding this bike too. Thank you for watching.

    Road Glide 3 is definitely a different ride than the Trike. For one its a lighter than the Trike explaining why you felt that cross wind. I noticed that right off the bat when I test rode it during Demo Days. The faring is smaller that the batwing on a Trike providing less wind protection. This maybe good thing in the summer. There’s no lower faring so its probably good to feel the wind on your legs in the summer as well. The Road Glide 3 looks and rides great but I won’t be trading in my Trike for it since I really love all the conveniences and upgrades I got on mine. Thxs for posting.

    • @OMGMOTO

      Your comment makes me want to ride the batwing fairing trike. I did not read about the RG3 before I rode it. I did not want any preconceived notions about the RG3. THat cross wind really moved the RG3. I really enjoyed it. Thank you for watching.

I just got my RG3 and have not picked it up yet (it is still at the dealership getting some accessories). I look forward to learning to ride it.
