15 grand brand new back in the day. Hold onto it. I remember seeing one in the local honda display window when I was a kid, with my dad, buying parts for my CR80 I used to race. I think I left saliva on the window when I left, from drooling so much.
man I love those colors. my favorite bike of all-time was the 1985-1986 Interceptor 1000R. Not sure why I've never bought an interceptor now that I think about it lol. My first bike was a 1989 Ninja 600R, then a 1997 Ninja ZX6-R, and now a 2004 Ninja ZX 10R. Next bike is going to be an Interceptor just so I can see the difference, and mostly for nostalgic purposes ;-)
I love the sound of that engine - smooth as a sewing machine. The RC30 is what you get when engineers who love their jobs are allowed to make what they want.

Owned 2 of these back in the day.. First one had problems with valve seat material. Other one blew the crank on way back from British GP. Great bike though. Still remember how hot my right leg used to get ! Also had RC45..went to watch Bol Dor on it 1995. No issues ran like a dream. Now age 51 and have an RSV4 ..Track Use only.
Absolutely gorgeous motorcycle!! Love it! Not many newer motorcycle with this kinda look anymore. Did you buy the bike in that pristine condition already or you restored it yourself? I just love the color combinations of it. Fantastic piece of machinery! Thanks for sharing!

I had one of these several years ago. It was a Thorsten Durbahn modified bike and was super-light and very sexy. Check out the Durbahn website for some cool bikes. These bikes really sound glorious with a race exhaust on full noise, and held a lap record at I-O-M for some ten years if my memory serves me well. A very easy bike to ride fast straight away - very forgiving, though probably quite slow in today's money. I've got to say, that does look exceptionally tidy, and such a great looking bike bone-stock.

+1423stuart Ahhh nope. the VFR800 shares a tremendous amount with the RC45 bike. Same block, heads, swingarm, timing and running gear. The RC45 however had a different crankshaft and was tuned different with more aggressive cams, and of course was entirely hand build and superlight, and is currently worth it's weight in gold....
I was at Donaldson cycles with enough money in my pocket to pay cash for this bike. My idea was to put a piece of glass on top of the bike” which was still in the wooden crate” and make a family room table out of it. I decided not to and yes I was a dumbass. It would have been so cool.
I don't see it what makes this bike so special Double round headlights like most of the late 80s and beginning 90s sports bikes had. Besides the single sided rear arm, what's so special about its looks then that make make most of you drool over how pretty it is. Enlighten me please. Must admit its in great condition though, thumbs up for that😎🖒
Rob W i am partial to a 93 CBR900RR as having that title but if i saw an RC30 for sale, i would not be able to contain myself, sweet dual headlights and fully faired plus that V4 power plant, absolutely amazing.
