I love how he points out even the smallest things that can go wrong. Even these mistakes that 90% of people will never make, because it's too basic, he points them out. That's why he is the world champion
I remember that when I started yoyoing I had a lot of fails, but surprizingly I wasn't angry. And then I understood that yoyoing is that thing I was searching for a long time. It relaxses, you never get bored, you can spend a time with your yoyo when you are waiting for something and it makes you look cool ; ) And of course I love yoyoing. The most interesting thing is then somebody see yoyoing and they want to learn this to, and they want you to teach them. There is nothing in this world that provides more joy and self-confidence than yoyoing
Few years back I had a yoyo. But the curiosity to learn it slowly diminished because my yoyo is totally worn out. Now again after years I am finding interest in these episodes even though currently I have no yoyo. Good job mate👌
Thank you so much. this helped me out tremendously. I can catch it every time now my technique wasn't quite right but video showed what I was doing wrong. Me and Kids been watching your videos the last few days. We took up yoyoing a few months ago when kids had a N.E.D. program at school. We purchased several better yoyos afterwards and have been learning from online videos ever since. Your videos have helped everyone here out in some way by correcting an issue or making our throws smoother. Thanks again for videos. It's amazing how fast our yoyo collection has grown would never thought I would own 20 yoyos (17 by yoyofactory 3 NED yoyos)
Great video as always! Are you going to do a video in the future about how to maintain and take care of a yoyo(like bearings and when to lube or replace, and when to replace response pads)
Gentry Stein cant wait. i really look forward to these tutorials, they are helping me more than any others ever have and they have me taking my yoyo everywhere so i can practice. Thank you Gentry
So iam a 90's kid aaand a while ago I randomly saw a UA-cam short with yoyo tricks and I absolutely wanted to get my self a yoyo. So love the tutorials and iam practicing as much as possible between worke way and so on 😂 bonked my finger so much withe yoyo but Maaaaaan it is fun and it reminds me of the old times on the school yard in the 2nd grade 😂 the child inside is happy so am I
Aight man. Finished the 100. Started off with a small metal Duncan racer. That metal is unforgiving on the hand when not caught right. Lol. Switched to a Dark Magic 2. Around 70 popped a plastic side cap off and I thought for a second it was damaged haha. Popped back on. Needless to say it was an eventful practice but much needed repetition for me.
hello gentry i'm from malaysia, i have just bought a spinstar yoyo and it just arrived today and ive been practicing for the past 3 hours can't get enough of it. so fun!! would you mind making a video on how to do the trick at 2:05 ? it was so cool the way you winded up the yoyo so quick. defiantly more flashy than the normal way .
I think this trick become my favorite right now! Though my problem is that somehow sometimes when I try to do it I accidentally smash my yoyo to the ground, anyways, keep up the tutorial gentry!
Ammar Ramadhan have you made sure your string is measured to the correct length? If not, check out episode 2. If your string is the correct length and the yoyo still hits the ground, just keep your hand higher. :)
@@Gentrystein haha, i forgot that you have to do string measurement before playing. I just used the string that comes with my yoyo. Now I rarely hit the ground with my yoyo, thanks for reminding me gentry!
Ammar Ramadhan This is a common problem when people first learn. The yoyos I’ve recommended for this series all come with pre-shortened strings. Anyways. Have fun! :)
Oof... doing one is simple enough after a couple of tries, but 100 in a row is a completely different story. The most i'm up at is 39 in a row. But it's cool to see how you improve as you go. All the repetition makes it come all the more natural. Thanks for the tutorial. I'll watch the next one... when i've done 100 in a row
hey gentry, My favorite part of yoyoing is when I got to go to nationals (2017) and I met you! I have two questions, First, is there a yoyo camp in the bay area. Second, what is ur string length? I want to send u some of my homemade strings if ur willing to try them out, but I need to adjust my rig to accommodate ur string height :)
Make sure your palm is facing the yoyo. And let the yoyo come back to your hand. Don’t reach for it. Make sure to swing it up high enough so it responds downward toward your hand. Hope this helps
@@Gentrystein Thank you so much. This helps so much. I was practicing some other trick and my yoyo just flew off the string. Why does this happen and how do i fix it? Thanks.
Love the guides ! Started one week ago and the forward pass and around the world are really coming togetter. This one is alot harder. Sometimes i can catch it even when it is not 100% parallel with my body but the trapeez never works :/ i'll keep practicing
Because of my yoyo is unresponsive i was only stuck at the robinhood in the wind back part of the trick but i never give up my biggest dream ever was is the yoyoing and to learn better and cooler tricks
Hi again. Sorry to bug you but I can’t find help for this anywhere. My yo-yo keeps flying off the string and I don’t know how or why. Could I have some help please?
I have a question im dieing to get the answer to. Why is it when all you pros are doing your (great) tutorials why is it on all the basic tricks you guus always use a responsive yoyo. I get that beginners should learn with a responsive yoyo. How about the people like me for instance that used to yoyo as a kid and was fairly decent with a responsive but now 15 years later im trying to pick up yoyo again using an unresponsive yoyo. The tricks are pretty much the same with both i get that but it would be great to see some more tutorials with an unresponsive yoyo especially the basic tricks. I know there's plenty out there on advanced tricks. It would really help .Thank btw your tutorials are better that all the rest of the competition by the way. And i love the replay pro.
So I have A Replay Pro and when i throw the yoyo and when it reaches the end of string it bounces up and make it very hard to do something. I can't even get properly into trapeeze. Because this bounce is ruining whole motion and accuracy. I would love to know what im doing bad. Sry for my english tho.
Marshall s if you have a replay pro, that means you have an unresponsive yoyo for advanced tricks. If it’s bouncing up right when you throw it, that means you have a knot inside the yoyo. Refer to episode 2 of learn to yoyo and watch the part about changing the yoyo string. (You don’t have to change it, just follow the steps and get the knot out of your current string.
Hey I have a responsive yo-yo and I was not able to do the Robbin hood trick, will u mind telling me that if it is possible to do it with this type of yo-yo and if not can u send me a yo-yo (irrisponsive) from ur websites? I would really appreciate if you send me the yo-yo and if u need my address reply me
this is BY FAR THE HARDEST THING FOR ME TO LEARN. i cant figure out what im doing wrong.....yo yo comes out sideways NO MATTER what i try..... SO FRUSTRATING .

It's quite interesting how the shooting place looks the size of an ordinary closet but he has enough space to show any trick from every possible angle
It's really amazing how instead of just mentioning the mistakes we could make you actually show those mistakes and then teach solutions.
With most skills I have to push my self to practice but this is a lot of fun. Thanks for the great tutorials!
you are the best yoyo teacher out there in quarantine

That"s my first yoyo trick that I learned very fast, idk how but I start to like yoyoing
omg i never thought that i could yoyo until i encountered this series.thanks
i love that Robin Hood trick. thats been my favourite so far. best part about learning to yoyo is even if i mess a trick up its still fun learning

Your yoyo is probable unresponsive.
Can you try the dna with a 1 dollar yo-yo
İ didn't understood how you get the yoyo back in robbin hood
What if when you do the break away and the yoyo doesn't come back at the last part and just swings
Your yoyo is probably unresponsive
Very hard

Robin Hood goin great?
when i was practising this trick i hurt my hand sooo hard
