I admire how she always sings with such energy. Her songs demand a strong sense of interpretation, like acting in a theatrical play. I mean, she has a personal life, she probably has gone up to the stage feeling bad about something, worried about someone, in some kind of pain or late for a flight. But she always sings those songs so gracefully, making all the funny sounds, fast lyrics and all. She cares.
one thing i really love about Regina is that she's not afraid to have fun with her songs. You can always tell when she sings her songd that she's having a great time.
Regina is so full of knowlege and talent! You can learn so much about great pieces of literature & just about anything else just listening to her music. She's my favorite storyteller.
What I found cute is that she actually followed the words Of Hans Christian Anderson. But in, a modern kind of way. But she could be a mermaid if she wanted to. Regina Spektor is that awesome. :)
Lol, I've already commented on this... "one year ago"?!... It's silly how often I listen to Regina. I think she's the best imaginary friend I've ever had, because surely this kind of genius cannot be real...
I had this song stuck in my head because I don't have the file so I watch this video a lot, and I was on a bus and I just started humming it, then singing it softly then pretty loud and there were people smilling at me and it was kinda funny.
@cheeelsey If the song is playing on one of those little QuickTime bars in the middle of the screen, there should be a small upside-down triangle on the far right of the bar (not the far right of the screen!). Click the triangle and choose "Save as source" and save it to whatever folder you want, and once you open the file that you saved the song should be added to your iTunes. This is what worked for me, but I'm not sure about other computers.
I always have this stuck in my head at really inappropriate times. I was singing this under my breath yesterday whilst I sat in the graveyard, with an umbrella, eating banana. A group of people thought i was mental...
"I am a mermaid But I've sold my voice For a pair of feet That tend to bleed When I go walking in the road" In the original Hans Christian Anderson version, the feet she got were always very painful when she walked, and tended to bleed
okay maybe I wasn't clear enough about what I meant... I would die for regina, and if she was a mute, completely incapable of singing, I would die for her.
@thebleachedninja OMG she wrote a song about that guy too. have you heard "prisoners"? it goes "if hans christian anderson would of had his way with me, none of this shit would have gone down..." what does this all mean? when is this guy from anyway?
@goldfishinaglass I did the same thing today! Except it was banana I had written my name on "Hannah" and A Cannon by Regina Spektor I sang..one lady came up to me and asked me if I needed help and I cracked up laughing and said no and she walked away 0_o
even though i'm fb married and now 14 with a boo, regina spektor i still want to marry you, say yes to me because i just learned how to play marry you on my guitar for you:) mmm grrl time number nine and worst $60 bucks i spent! named heidl's plant mozart just for you!
Haha, you've got issues dude. C'mon, this is supposed to be a place for comments towards regina's song. Try sticking to that. I'm done with this conversation, but you're free to keep on with your pointless attitude.
I wish this song was on spotify, it’s my favourite of hers
Listening to Regina makes you accept yourself as you are.
I think that is amazing.
The way I see it, listening to Regi can get one right with God, and I see no difference between what you said and what I said. ❤

Amazing!
OMG! Where has this song been all my life?

Regina spektor combined with my favorite movie as a kid... ever = awesomeness!

It's unhealthy how much I listen to this song.

Ahhh, I stumbled upon this song after not having heard it for about a year and a half. Tickled me : D So playful...
she is awesome
This is actually what I like the most about Regina. Her random demos. They're quirky - funny - and good! You can tell she's having fun.
Aw, this song is so cute!!
Trying to do my homework while listening to Regina. DOES NOT WORK.

Cute! I love it!

I had this song stuck in my head because I don't have the file so I watch this video a lot, and I was on a bus and I just started humming it, then singing it softly then pretty loud and there were people smilling at me and it was kinda funny.
Such a cute song :)
I wish someone could make a list of EVERY SINGLE one of her songs so I can download them and make CD's
"adopted it. transplanted it. took it home. and named it... mozart" hahaha :B
I love you. =]

I feel the same way :P I idolize her and ReSpekt her.
@Poet2916 Look up "Regina Spektor Songs" on Wikipedia. It has everything, recorded tracks, unreleased demos, unreleased live demos, covers, etc.
She just brought this song back for her current fall tour and I got a recording of it!! Still just as awesome! Check it out on my channel :)
@donttouchmyfoupy15 That's crazy. I knew she had a bajillion songs out there, but I didn't know she's written that many. She's so talented :3
use youtube downloader, then convert it and you can simply drag it into itunes.
This is such an awesome song, does anybody know if I can find it on CD?
"I am a mermaid
But I've sold my voice
For a pair of feet
That tend to bleed
When I go walking in the road"
In the original Hans Christian Anderson version, the feet she got were always very painful when she walked, and tended to bleed
If regina was a mute, I would love her a lot more than my own life..
I ove how she said she named it Mozart.
@TheMovingPiano14
Lol, that sentence describes me perfectly actually! :D
okay maybe I wasn't clear enough about what I meant... I would die for regina, and if she was a mute, completely incapable of singing, I would die for her.

Not all her songs are on her cd's. Some of her BEST songs aren't on her cd's.
holy crap it is the little mermaid
how do you download this into your itunes?
I think she kinda looks like a mermaid in this picture. :D It's pretty~
How about buying her CD's? >_>
Does anyone know where I can download this song? I would love to incorporate it into some of my videos!
+punkrocker443 you can use atube catcher, and give the credits to this user of course
pleeeease please tell me exactly how to download her songs, do i need something or what?? I don't know how :(

sometimes I sing out loud: I aaaam a mermaid, and then everyone looks at me like: wtf? And than I laugh (:

xD
and named it Mozart
i love that part! ^^
@goldfishinaglass I did the same thing today! Except it was banana I had written my name on "Hannah" and A Cannon by Regina Spektor I sang..one lady came up to me and asked me if I needed help and I cracked up laughing and said no and she walked away 0_o

wow, interesting.
@tami7320 ME TOO!!!!
You have good taste :) There should be more men whit good taste in music and women.
This song is about the little mermaid right?
i love this song, but your lyrics are wrong ;)
haha, dats so funny!!! lol
oh yeah well i'm 13. can't get any crazier than that:)
Does anyone notice 'The Little Mermaid" reference in this? XD Ariel sold her voice to the witch Ursula so she could be with that Prince. XD
Just a wee bit. (;
@laurarox80 perhaps because the graveyard shop was out of apples? ;)
@radioelectrick which is COMPLETELY unfortunate.
@goldfishinaglass
lol that's so cute....ina slightly creepy way:)
@goldfishinaglass lol I'm only racking my brains as to why someone would eat a banana with an umbrella in a graveyard.
I like how this song is loosely based on the actual The Little Mermaid and not that Disney garbage one.
thats aishwarya to u, buddy.
@goldfishinaglass
hmm, you must be a very interesting person...:) teehee
"happy Fiona Apple" is a paradox, no? ;)
@sodapop23candyc No shit.
loloz...hardly
even though i'm fb married and now 14 with a boo, regina spektor i still want to marry you, say yes to me because i just learned how to play marry you on my guitar for you:) mmm grrl time number nine and worst $60 bucks i spent! named heidl's plant mozart just for you!
