I had a mystery illness which rendered me nearly disabled. I couldn't dress myself, could hardly get out of the car, lift my arms, etc . . I believe it was low Vitamin D and inflammation. I spent thousands on tests and specialists. I was put on low-dose chemotherapy, and my hair started falling out. Duke University really cheated me, charging me $6,000 for 12 vials of blood, and after that I just couldn't go back. I started watching You Tube and discovered moringa. I started taking moringa with tumeric and I can now move again. I also take B12 (which I learned I should take for exhaustion from this channel) high dosages of Vitamin D and magnesium. The credit the moringa for healing me, and I continue to take it.

I have endured a similar condition for 20 some years. Had taken on various forms and types of attacks against my body , organs etc.. I've learned so much about medical system.. foods and finding the root cause . I'd gone to John's Hopkins as all my specialist were so perplexed.. I also took the low dose chemo but could not tolerate.
I turned to alternative care in 2014 when I was told get a good support system as the medical field could no longer help..in other words. . It's been a journey of much deep learning on the human body, foods etc I will be starting to share more publicly on my "channel" i really haven't used . I've made to many excuses for my delay.. but we must try to help one another with true wisdom and knowledge learned through actual experience
May the Lord continue to touch and heal you on your journey to full healing.

God gave us a wealth of natural remedies but modern pharmacy cannot make money from it.
My husband uses medicinal marijuana for severe pain, but he is very cautious how much he does. Ohio just legalized it and now long lines are at the dispensaries with people with medical cards buying and reselling it to those that don’t have a card.
Without a card you can’t buy from the dispensary….card cost …….so now people are seeking black market sellers…..problem solved right…….😐

I have been growing moringa trees for 5 years. I harvest the leaves, dehydrate them, grind them in a coffee grinder, and fill capsules. I use 000 sized capsules. These hold .5 grams of moringa powder each. I take 4 per day (2 grams) after breakfast in the morning. I think it really helps me with joint pain. I have not noticed any bad effects. 🤠

In south India, almost every house or between every few houses you can find a moringa tree, now the cities are changing and getting crowed but still in every place other than main cities, its so common, till the western world started talking about the benefits, no one even spoke what is the vitamin spilt in Moringa!! We just used it almost every week.. It was cheap food, it could just grow anywhere without a care, no one puts any fertilizer or anything for moringa plants.. Growing up or for that matter even today, I have never seen my mom buy moringa leaves as its just there.. We cook with moringa leafs and drumsticks which is an aphrodisiac and its also consumed normally by people..
Locals from my village believe Moringa is named after one of our gods Murugan.. :)
I did not know that pregnant or breastfeeding mom's cannot use drumsticks or moringa flowers as its so common in south India for everyone to consume drumsticks during pregnancy.. Moringa is great for fertility..
We cook moringa like soup, we cook it with rice like porridge, we make pancakes by mixing the leaves or flowers with the batter (its called dosa made with rice and lentil paste that is fermented), we mix it with wheat and make Indian bread with it, we make something called Sambar with drumstick, we make stir fry with the leaves, flowers and drumsticks, we make something like a broth with the flowers.. When my mom makes ghee at home, at the end of the process, she would throw a handful of fresh moringa leaves (mostly the tender leaves) in the ghee, we use to wait for her to make ghee to eat rice mixed with the moringa leaves cooked in ghee along with the brown bits from the ghee!! Yummy, mom makes this for me even when I go home today.. :)
Living in Canada, we get organic powder that I use for pains in the form of capsules, when I hurt my shoulder few years ago morning powder capsule was my saviour.. When my mom sends me a package she always dries Moringa leaves and sends me a pack as we do not get organic whole leaves here..

Moringa!! My second cousin (my mom's cousin's son) Lowell was referred to as the Johnny Appleseed of Moringa. He spent several years helping spread moringa throughout communities in Senegal and helped to spread the use of it in the impoverished and undernourished communities and he was very successful in using it to battle malnourishment along with multiple health benefits. He was quoted in a Discovery Channel documentary on moringa years ago where he said the Senegalese word for moringa is nebadaye (never die) for it's ability to grow in almost any conditions or soil types.

I got all my seeds to sprout this way: 1. Soak the seeds overnight. 2. Nick the seeds slightly so the sprouts can get through the hulls. 3. Place the seeds on a damp paper towel in a Tupperware type container. 4. Put the container on top of the fridge where it will stay warm.
Since they are susceptible to transplant shock, I folded up pieces of scrap cardboard to make tall, narrow seedling containers that would biodegrade so I could transplant my seedlings without removing them from the containers. Once the seeds sprouted, I put them in those. The little trees grew beautifully after I planted them outside in North Texas, but the harsh winter killed them. I had planted one in a container, and I overwintered that one in the garage. It lost all its leaves, but came back last spring and made seeds. Hummingbirds loved the flowers.

I'm in Illinois and have grown Moringa for several years. I kept in a pot and would winter over inside. Some in garden and would harvest leaves during summer. I started over this year with new plants. Trying the dwarf ones from Baker Creek to see how they do. Will bring them in during winter. I put it on salads, use in liquid like juice, also mostly use as tea. I just air dry the leaves for tea. I love the tea. Sometimes mix with flavored teas. Hope this helps. We have over a dozen moringa trees in our garden. We have been converting our back yard into a food forest since we moved to this house a year and a half ago. The trees are about a year old. We live in Central Florida and do get a couple of cold fronts that will freeze our garden. Right now the moringas are just starting to sprout new leaves. They were looking like sad sticks since the big Christmas weekend freeze.
My favorite way of eating moringa is harvesting the tips, about 6", and cooking them in butter for breakfast with an egg omelette! I feed large amounts of moringa to our chickens, who just love it. Their eggs turn really dark orange when they get moringa. I read a study a while back saying that in Africa moringa was being used for chicken feed, using it for 50% of their feed.
Heidi, perhaps your moringa seeds weren't sprouting because you didnt crack them. I forgot to do that one time, and I got no germination. Also, I soak ours overnight. I just planted a bunch of seeds this morning! 🌱💛🌻☀️

I grow moringa for years now here in North of Alabama. Moringa doesn't like wet soil. Growing up in the Philippines, I remember the moringa plants doesn't need watering. I am growing 4 from seeds last month and I have only 1 growing well and others hopefully grow next. I noticed in the past that watering them too much made the seeds rot so I have to be careful to let the soil dry out before watering again. I have moringa growing in the garage right now from last year that I planted in the raised bed. I dug up the trees trying to not ruin the roots and transfer them in a smaller pot to overwinter in the garage. They look like a stick now, but one is still producing leaves because it's next to the window where the morning sun comes in. I experienced one time when the plants stem looks dead but when I checked the roots, it's still hard and had 2 little sprouts on the sides of the dead stem. I put the root back to the little pot and the plant started growing 2 stems when the weather started to warm up. Anyway, I used the leaves and flowers for soups. Use the leaves like spinach. Some add it to salads but it's a little spicy so I don't. 😊 I dehydrated leaves for winter soups and I love it! I grow them in pots, garden beds and raised beds. I was once had 2 tall moringa trees planted in the 4 x 4 raised beds. They grow so tall as tall as our house roof and had many branches that produces lots of flowers. The bees, butterflies and hummingbirds loved the flowers! It's fun to watch them! The trick is to prune the moringa to make it bushy because if you don't, you will end up having a moringa stick with only a few stalk of leaves.

Just anything you might like just to add a little more color, flavor and benefits of moringa. I use it in soups, stew, smoothies, applesauce, salsa and so on. To take a full dose even in capsules can upset stomachs for some people. So little amounts in the foods is helpful. Since using it for myself my arthritis isn’t nearly as bad. I have just begun my experiment with Moringa. I bought the powder form because it is much cheaper than the capsules. I have no intention of making my own capsules because I think it would be a hassle that I would not likely keep up. Besides the investment of the equipment to load the capsules. I will say that I do not like the taste of the moringa. After trying to figure out what the taste reminds me of, it came to me. It taste exactly like the orchard and timothy grass pellets, smells, that I feed our horses sometimes. So in short, it taste like grass hay. LOL I struggles to find a way to consume it. It works well putting it in my green smoothies and blends in well. I found the most pleasurable way to consume it, is mixed in some applesauce. Fruit seems to take away alot of the grass taste. The moringa container that I have says 1 teaspoon dosage. But I don't know if that is once a day or more. I began with 1/2 teaspoon to see how I reacted to it. Yep. My digestive system told me this was something strange and talked to me for a few days. I take 1 teaspoon a day now, without any complaints. LOL I am considering, now, increasing the dosage, since it is reported to have such good benefits. The Lord knows I need to ease some inflammation and my aging brain needs all the support it can get. Thank you for showing which Moringa you get. It is more cost effective that what I bought in a local store. I got only 8 oz and it was significantly higher priced that what you have there. I am all for supporting our local stores, but sometimes, it just isn't affordable. I will continue to by other things from her. I will be excited to read others comments on how moringa is working for them. So far, I am not noticing a whole lot. But it has only been 2 or 3 weeks for me.

I have been using organic leaf powder for some time. When my cat was diagnosed having CKD (chronic kidney disease) I started giving him a very small bit(about 1/4 of a 1/64th (drop) measuring spoon of Moringa in his food twice a day, he is a large cat, I also use some other things too, he is thriving, still playful with his brother, they are 8 yrs old. Cats are very sensitive to things, they are not able to filter out toxins as dogs or other animals can, they lack this enzyme ( Cats lack the major phenol UDP-glucuronosyltransferase (UGT) enzymes, including UGT1A6 and UGT1A9). This makes it hard to be able to give stuff to help cats as you can with dogs. Many people do not realize this and Vets do not mention this. I also changed their diet to just a verity of meats, gently cooked. Moringa has done wonders for my self and I love using the oil as well. Nature can provide everything we need if we are able to access it:) P.S. If considering to use this for a cat PLEASE do your research first, and ALWAYS.

Its the cool weather they don't like. Here in Florida, they grow so well from central Florida southwards, they are considered an invasive exotic. I live in central Florida, and while we get about half the rainfall you do in the northwest corner of Washington, we have high humidity year round because of the heat and the fact we are surrounded by water and the ocean breezes carry that moisture inland. So if try growing moringa again hot and humid is the key. 🌱
Edit: also I would suggest a light sandy soil. We live in a dang sandbox down here! 😆

Use a heat mat and dome for the humidity when starting your Moringa seeds. And patience is key they take a very long time to germinate but once they do watch out. Be sure you use a deep pot as they have tap roots they can stunt their growth. They are awesome for many reasons. The seeds are also great for purifying water.

I grew mine along the back fence at our house on the 380 corridor north of Dallas. It grows well there. I just couldn't get them protected enough to save them from the winter we had there last year. I cut them down to about a foot high, put cardboard boxes filled with shredded cardboard around them and covered them with heavy-duty trash bags. It was just too cold for them to survive. I thought I lost the one I had in a container in the garage, too, but it leafed out and did well last year.

Yay moringa! I love it! I do have the powder but it's really hard to incorporate into things for me since it has such a strong flavor. I'll usually put it in a spaghetti sauce or smoothie.
I also have dried moringa leaves that I use for tea (I started with a tsp and worked up to a Tbsp). I use them in a pain-relieving tincture and salve with nettle and mullein for my arthritis in my knees. The salve has also worked wonderfully on my son's diaper rash and eczema!
In the fall I attempted to grow moringa, here in Northern Wisconsin, and I got all 7 seeds to germinate (by soaking the seeds for 18-24hrs, and then removing the paper and taking my fingernail to scratch down the side of the seed to help it open, then planted the seeds in a very tall pot, because they have long tap roots, watered them and made a greenhouse by covering with plastic, they took about 2 weeks to germinate) but there just wasn't enough daylight to keep them healthy so I started eating the leaves periodically. I will be growing them again in spring, hopefully they will get large enough to sustain winter in the house!

While moringa is pretty much harmless if you are all-natural, there are medications that, if taken with moringa, can lead to some problems. Blood thinner drugs such as aspirin, warfarin, and heparin, as well as antiplatelet drugs like clopidogrel, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, should be avoided when taking moringa.

As I always say, people need to research for themselves, ANY thing can interact with medication and this includes any healthy food, not just herbs, but especially more medicinal herbs taken in medicinal doses.

I have Dwarf Moringa seeds from Baker Creek. According to pkg directions, it's going to be tricky getting it started. You have to use warm water to soak the seeds. Their website says DO NOT EAT THE ROOTS, THEYRE POISONOUS. I'll email the front and back of the seed pkt.

I started taking moringa powder probably a little over a week ago and just add it to my iced coffee.

Heidi, thank you for another great video to help us all! I have a friend who used to run and orphanage in Haiti and he said they had a moringa tree in the yard and put the leaves in the children's food to help prevent malnutrition. A company formerly known as Zija (now part of Isogenix) was based on the super nutrient-rich moringa tree. They claimed that "ounce for ounce" moringa has more vitamin C than an orange. I do believe in the helpful properties of moringa; I have witnessed them in a friend. However, one would need to consume a lot of leaves to equal the weight of an average orange! So I think the line that it "has more vitamin C than an orange" is a bit of a sales gimmick when you read the fine print.

Yes, that was what I had guessed but if it is ounce for ounce, which is also what I assumed, then it is still truth.
