  • The book of Job opens in the throne room of heaven with a conversation between God and Satan regarding the faithfulness of a man named Job. God allowed Satan to test Job, and Satan caused Job to lose his health, wealth, and even his beloved family. But in the midst of Job's tragic circumstances, God revealed His sovereignty and faithfulness, and Job's steadfast faith prevailed.
This teaching is from our series The Bible from 30,000 Feet - 2018 with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church.

"A person who doesn't grieve at a funeral or a loss is holding it inside and it will wreck that person."
I held a lot of resentment in towards my father. He was always angry, physically abusive, never displayed love in any healthy capacity.
Over the last few years, I learned something. My grandmother, his mother, had another baby before she had my dad. A little boy. The little boy died when he was a few months old. My grandmother shut down. She never spoke of the child. She had no pictures up. She never visited his grave one time... Ever... She pretended like it never happened.
She's the woman who raised my father. That's who he learned to love from.... Someone who didn't know how to love. 😢
After finding this out, I let that stuff go immediately. All of it. Gave it to the Lord... I immediately felt a relief on the inside of me.
It wasn't my dad's fault. He did the best he could. A lot of you are probably in a similar position. I promise, it isn't worth holding in. It isn't worth holding onto. You have no idea what the person you aren't forgiving went through.
While Jesus was on the cross, as the Romans were killing Him, He prayed to the Father to forgive them, for they know not what they do. (Luke 23:34)
The Romans were oblivious as to the what was going on. They were brainwashed and hurting inside just like the rest of us...
Today is the day to let it all go and give it to God... Forgive everybody in your life who has ever wronged you.
Remember, forgiveness isnt for the person, it's for you and your soul. The person doesn't even have to know it happened.
God, I pray in Jesus' name this message reaches someone so that they may find peace through forgiveness.

Correction at 10:27, Job did not live only to 140 years. Chapter 42, verse 16 says Job live 140 years AFTER this and was able to see four generations of his sons and grandsons. Nonetheless, I loooove these teachings by Pastor Skip Heitzig! I listen to one after I finish reading each book.

I've heard that the doubling up at the end of the book actually shows the eternity of the human soul, because Job did not really lose those first ten children as they live forever and Job was given those ten more. Therefore, Job really did have his wealth of children doubled in that case.

Satan challenged God regarding his "servant Job" as to whether Job would "curse God" under trial. Even though Job was unaware, he maintains his integrity.

Skip should look at the Septuagint. The last verse gives Job's genealogy.
It reveals that Job is Esau's grandson. And Job is 2nd ruler of Edom, a King. That explains his wealth.
    His comforters are fellow Kings.
    Job 42:17:
17 And Job died, an old man and full of days: and it is written that he will rise again with those whom the Lord raises up. This man is described in the Syriac book living in the land of Ausis, on the borders of Idumea and Arabia: and his name before was Jobab; and having taken an Arabian wife, he begot a son whose name was Ennon. And he himself was the son of his father Zare, one of the sons of Esau, and of his mother Bosorrha, so that he was the fifth from Abraam. And these were the kings who reigned in Edom, which country he also ruled over: first, Balac, the son of Beor, and the name of his city was Dennaba: but after Balac, Jobab, who is called Job, and after him Asom, who was governor out of the country of Thaeman: and after him Adad, the son of Barad, who destroyed Madiam in the plain of Moab; and the name of his city was Gethaim. And friends who came to him were Eliphaz, of the children of Esau, king of the Thaemanites, Baldad sovereign the Sauchaeans, Sophar king of the Minaeans.

Have you ever been bothered by rigid righteous people? Hm? They are a PAIN! And have you ever been in the presence of a humble, a flexible, a healing... saint? You know, the church does a bad job of believing in saints or holy flexible people who heal and know the mind of God. You need an answer? Don't go to a rigid righteous person. But a holy saint does know and understand the things of God, and how humans can maneuver on Earth. Peter learned. Joseph in Egypt learned. Paul learned. James learned. John the Revelator learned. Lots of saints learned what God was teaching Job. ThINK!

There are so many lessons to be learned from Job, a man of Yahweh! I've been longing for death of this flesh of late because of my impaired mental state due to stroke, heart disease, and neuro problems. I pray the following is discernable! Through our heavenly Father's WORD and SPIRIT, I hope to impart some spiritual gift to the reader. What did Satan mean by "skin for skin," in reference to Job while speaking to Yahweh? Skin is the largest organ of the human body. When Adam and Eve fell due to sin they exposed the sin shame hidden beneath that innocence. Yahweh's gave mankind garments of innocence and the physical covering of skin to protect the mind and heart which are the soul's strength. After the fall, Humanity added another layer of covering (fig leaf) which in itself reveals very much the condition of mind and heart. Adam and Eve made garments for themselves but Yahweh didn't approve: He made them garments of animal skins that pointed towards our Lord and Savior, Yeshua Messiah's sacrifice for sin! I think of John the Baptist, whose clothing revealed so much about the condition of his mind and heart! Satan, attacked Job's character and ours, also. Yahweh doesn't chasten man without reason! Although Yahweh already knew the mind and heart of Job, Yahweh chastened Job for his personal condition: as revealed in chapter 3:25-26. So many are born into this world malformed, in families filled with hatred, having nothing financially to help move themselves forward, or cope with daily needs! Satan said that Yahweh had furnished Job with all his needs and had put a hedge of protection around him from the evil one's attempts to draw him away from Yahweh. Again, Father Yahweh knows our minds and hearts along with all our needs better than we do...that's why he has put each of us in our position and condition for such a time as this! Job, with all his substance, health, and moral character was still LIVING IN FEAR: saying, "For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came." We know Job loved his children and gave daily sacrifices for their sins, which were the first things taken of his substance (sustenance) by Satan. The offerings for sin and loss of children is the thing which Job "greatly feared". Finally Satan took His health which Job said "I was afraid of has come unto me". Fear (reverence) of Father Yahweh brings blessing and keeps us: working out our salvation with trembling and fear as we daily search the scriptures and study to show ourselves approved, which will increase our faith by revealing our spiritual status with Yahweh, along with proof of salvation. Yahweh has not given us the spirit of fear; but the Spirit of power, of love, of a sound mind and pure heart: when we dwell on heavenly Father's Commandments (using the mind) and keep the Commandments (using the heart), we know we have the Testimony of Yeshua Messiah! As it is written, "Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of our redemption: because as he is, so are we
in this world. There is no fear in love; but
perfect love casts out fear: because
fear has torment. He that fears is not
made perfect in love." (1Jhn 4:17-18) Let's not forfeit the promise of our salvation due to temptations and tribulations in our lives and ministry nor trade "skin or skin"! Don't try and cover your sins...yes you may fool others temporarily but Yahweh nows everything and His heart is breaking with grief over what we think is the smallest of sins! I am praying for you a sound mind and pure heart! Hallelujah Amen

Yes, we have no guarantee it could not happen to us. However, if we are born again...we have a guarantee of eternal life with our Heavenly Father
Jesus said: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
    John:14:6
If we believe in His death on the cross and resurrection from the dead and confess it we are saved.
    HalleluYah and Amen ❤❤❤

The book of Job shows the covering of the world. Fig leaves. The covering the ALMIGHTY provided thru the cross. May we put on the Lord Jesus wear the cross of Christ.
The book came after the fall. It speaks of the creation being. Job 12:7 The Almighty is very precise.

If this is the oldest book written, then it is obviously not bound by the covenant we have today. In fact, Job may very well have not had had any covenant with God. I believe healing IS available to everybody, as is promised by the covenant we have today through Jesus Christ. The only thing we are not protected from is persecution. And I know what I speak of. I was healed of something that I would have died from had I not believed that God wants me well.

are these Calvary Churches connected? Pastor Paul L. of Cavalry Chapel Church and I just see a lot of similarities in their presentations. I won't say specifically, it's irrelevant. But I wondered if bearing the Calvary name they were of the same sorts so to speak. If not an organizational umbrella, an educational one maybe? Tenets of faith I might assume but also would not alter the presentation. Language usage and mannipulation, so to speak. Granted, I don't have a lot of experiience with varioius teachers since I tend to stick to those who are good Bible tttteachers. Anyway, I was just curious. Sorry about these typos. I hurt too much too, to fix them all. Forgivre me, please.

The bear example really breaks scripture... because God says his friends know what he is doing. There is milk. There is meat. Jesus spoke in parables to the milk. But to the disciples, he said God will let you know what happens, as a friend. The problem is that the church hates the idea there is milk, and there is meat. Paul talked about it. There are those who must ask "What would Jesus do?" That is milk. That is baby. But the advanced Christian has Christ-in-You inside... and the process of living is actually co-creation. The Christ-in-You artist makes art with Christ inside. There is no following. Following is what the milk people do. When you hear God, or Jesus. .. you can create art. You can receive a song. You can write poems that explain the Book of Job. But pastors hate anyone explaining this. Why? They do not like the idea they are responsible beyond just nurturing baby Christians who supposedly "follow" Jesus. Instead, some better pastors are called to learn what saints learn, to be able to then also grow saints. The Book of Job is about "a grape matures in the presence of another mature grape." Can you guess who was the mature saint in the Book of Job, who was teaching (successfully) Job how to be a mature saint? Read the below poem to find out.
