No child deserves parents like this. Standing up for ur children is one thing.
I was honored to spend 28 years officiating high school and college basketball. Some of my closest friends today are the coaches I met along that journey, there aren’t very many people that would put their livelihood in the hands of 16 to 18 year old young men and women. Sadly, I’ve seen firsthand that the majority of good coaches and sports officials leave due to parents.
All of these parents are the perfect example of what having zero class looks like.
Seems to be a certain group of people for the most part that are having these issues. LMAO LMAO LMAO LMAO!!!

Being a former collegiate athlete, I use to have high interest in coaching and being a referee. This is why I never did. Parents are the worst of the worst. Most of them never played a competitive sport, or no sport at all. Some have, didn't get far, and living their glory days through their kid which is a damn shame. And think they know everything what's best for their kid vs what coaches see and think.
As a little league i 100% agree!!! The kids are easy to deal with its the parent's most times thats the problem
Go thru it all the time when I umpire baseball and softball
Eh I say it's 50/50 there are alot of terrible coaches especially in hs and under
That is true in most cases but there are definitely times where coaches are idiots. The results speak for themselves.
@@afrosamurai8755 Remember though, they are volunteers, and probably only the coach because no body else wants to. Be thankful someone, anyone, is willing to put up with parents that have your attitude.

Parents living vicariously through their kids is all this is!
Preach! FACTS
Competitive dads are like that straight dick heads
This is dumb because who don’t? I want my children to be the mf GOAT
That and they seem to think these games are Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
so you dont have kids you saying. parents are just protective of their kids. but yes, theyre bad apples. maybe alot of bad apples but still hahah
It's crazy how these are grown ass adults...I can't get over that.
Cause they’re losers and wish they were still playing
I mean they care for their children passionately so...
Most of them are trying to live the life they wished they had through their kid
No excuse trying to antagonize a 6th grader, parents set a bad example for the child arguing the refs. No excuses.
@@InfiniteShake: If they care for their kids passionately, then sports can be be the perfect way to teach discipline, working within a team environment to reach a common goal, and most of all "RESPECT". No one is perfect, the coach will call some bad plays, you as a player will make some bad passes, miss some wide-open shots, miss assignments on defense, and the ref will miss some calls and make some bad calls. We are all human, so the day a player plays the perfect game and a coach, coaches the perfect game will be the day they can expect the perfect game from a ref..
Imagine if parents fought this hard for a good education for their kids.
This is what happened when parents who failed at sports put all their hopes and dreams on their kids who may not be that good at the sport just like they weren't
Started watching it, spaced out, came back sometime later, got annoyed. And realized I spaced out as a coping mechanism to deal with being annoyed
You couldn't pay me enough to be a ref for AAU ball.

Parents who's lives didn't end up the way they thought and now hoping their kids can make up for their mistakes... Truely sad...
I worked in collegiate and professional baseball for 16 years, and middle school and high school parents are the worst thing ever (dealt with them for travel ball and showcase events). They all think their kids are going to get drafted or play high-level college ball, but the reality is that 99% of the kids try but aren't talented.
I was a State Certified High School Basketball Official. In our off-season summer, I would officiate local tournaments and once an AAU Tournament. After my first experience officiating AAU basketball, I never came back. The parents are ridiculously obnoxious and pretend to know what they are talking about. It's never the kids, it's always the parents.
same here
These people should not be allowed to reproduce. As a former Little League umpire, it is despicable what parents say to you. I started seeing the public in a whole new light after that.
I've been there - done that.
Never again.
These were disgraceful.
Little league umps were always trash
I got rung up 3 times in one game as a kid on 3 pitches in the dirt
The problem is is little league ball has no requirements to be an ump
At least in the little league I was in
You're right in that there's no minimum requirement, but It's hard to set a minimum requirement when the pay is next to nothing...it's always tough to find umpires/refs in sports below college level..the pay usually isn't worth the abuse you take
Thank you!

Just tremendous role models these parents.
I officiated basketball for 16 years. Including everything from rec, AAU, varsity HS, Private HS. I left the game because of the parents and coaches. the kids were fine. A few of the adults made it contensius and unbearable. i hope they are miserable in their little lives.
I must have been a horrible supporter of my kids games, I have three kids and all three played all types of sports, I showed up at every game I could, but I just sat in my seat and cheered them on, even though I played college football and basketball, I never tried to ref or coach my kids games, there was usually someone already doing that so I just watched from the stands, I didn’t know I should have been belittling other kids, arguing with other parents, telling the coaches and referees how to do their jobs and getting kicked out of the gymnasium, so even though all three of my kids are grown now, I’d like to apologize to them for not acting like a total idiot at their games lol
Respect
It’s part of the game except for the fighting that’s too far and over harassment but shit talking going to happen regardless especially if the kid is any good. Well as long as the kids over like 12 and 13 if you shit talking a 6 year old you need help.
Theonetrueking: I don't train or coach above the age of 12. I love the kids, hate dealing w/ parents. When my 2 boys played, I always sat on the opposite side so I could just watch my kids play. I hated sitting w/ our team because many of ur parents were obnoxious. I found sitting alone on the opposite side of us the best way to enjoy the game. I don't understand how or why parents act the way they do. Then wonder why it gets trickled down to the kids. I always told the kids I coached and my own two kids, "the day you play the perfect game will be the day you expect a perfect game from a refs". The refs didn't exist to us, we simply played to have fun and compete.

Some of these parents are living their lives vicariously through their kids.
And people wonder why there’s a 57% referee shortage in sports in America
AAU parents are actually the craziest.
I remember being a kid playing football & having an asthma attack due to arguing with heckling from the coaches and parents of the opposite team
The fact that kid talked back and had to justify himself by saying he’s got offers is just pathetic. I swear, if I ever even opened my mouth on the court, man would I get an ear full on that car ride home. I couldn’t even imagine what would happen if I opened my mouth to someone off the court. This younger generation doesn’t have a clue what respect and class is or means.
No it's a grown man talking shit to a teen who is just playing, respect isn't given its earned. that man didn't respect him first so that kid didn't owe him any respect back
@@farahmohamed5072 Not sure where you grew up or how you were raised. But where I'm from and how I was raised none of that matters, you just ignore it and keep playing. It's called having class, it has nothing to do with earning respect. You shouldn't feel like you have to prove anything to anyone yet alone a total stranger talking trash. THIS is why youth sports everywhere are suffering, and why referees/officials have quit in massive numbers in recent years, because handling these childish parents is just too much for them
