Bro, I feel like im watching my own POV through this hahaha. feel exactly the same. the "attack a target to get into PVP state" is a really frustrating mechanic in the game, that I also forget to do or just CANT do sometimes. Appreciate you posting this video though, its good to see others struggles too. GL HF in game.

Thanks man. I finally learned about Flash Arrow targetting thanks to this video so it was worth exposing myself 😂

I dont think you're specially bad, game is kinda hard on large scale pvp, you're going to get blown by aoe spam and you will not blow up anything alone, you need some coordination for dropping 3 flash waves together for example to blow up groups on large scale.
That aside i think you should increase your attack range, its very good for large scale and it improved the experience a lot for me, going for the 50 points of perception and gear with attack range leaves me at almost 22m on attack range with karnix (if you have toublek you'd be around 25m), i can cast flash wave very safely from behind my guild meat wall into a large part of the enemy groups and be impactful.
Also try to keep in mind consumables, food might seem like its not a big deal, but it adds up, specially hit chance on food, try to pop your attack remedies and buffs before you're going to drop a flash wave, and yeah of course try to flag yourself before doing it, but we've all been there dropping flash waves without being flagged :P.
I'd also recommend playing in action mode, flash wave, tornado and decisive bombardment have this weird interaction where if you're not looking with your camera where you want the skill to go, it ends up going somewhere else, also if a wall is covering vision of your character, it also happens, so you might have an easier time controlling your camera and movement with action mode, given the class needs the mouse to aim skills.
And for the last thing on your specializations, i'd put mobility on strafing, it helps a lot with fast repositioning on low cooldown, and also change chain lightning for ensnaring arrow, you're going to be rooting people on the frontline so they get focused and killed, and also crossbow players when they get on your backline and start spinning, you can root them and keep them in place so everyone can run away.
Dont feel like you suck tho, game is hard and demoralizing on large scale pvp when you get blown up each time, also your class is very good for large scale, so if you're not having a huge impact there you're of course gonna feel like you suck, cause small scale pvp is the actual pain of this class.

The reason your Flashwave does no damage is because you are not in PVP combat mode. You must engage someone with a single target skill to enter PVP, then your AOE skills start working.
You also struggle a lot with controlling your camera, which makes you miss your skillshots. Consider playing in action mode instead.
Thank you for sharing your POV. It's good training material.
