MVP group: "don't throw the deflector, it's too overstable"
Hunter: "That's literally not possible"
Also Hunter: "The deflector's just too stable. Keeping the recluse"
I love my deflector!
@@chrisclinton1649From inbounds disc golf.
Deflector - Distance 292', HST 0%, LSF 74%,= Net 74%
Whippet X - Distance 305' , HST 18% LSF 93%, = Net 111%
I love my Whippet-X on so many lines/shots, it also makes an awesome trick disc as well 👍.
i think we'll need an update in a couple months to see what stays in the bag
Seems like nothing
Gyro is the The Way. But I also just love the feel of MVP/Axiom discs more than any others I've thrown.
The Axiom Rhythm is probably the biggest sleeper in the lineup, imo.
Hunter: "I like to use one mold for many shot types."
Also Hunter: "Think I'm going to replace my Rocs for like 3 different molds."
To be fair, there are 9 kinds of rocs
@@ADamItalian1173 That's got nothing on the several dozen types of destroyer
@@satagaming9144 Yeah destroyers are rediculous I have one sds that’s a roller and one sds that’s a meat hook
My wife just started playing disc, and her favorite disc by a mile is the Axiom Crave.
Iv been throwing MVP for 10 years. The non gyro molds you wound up putting back in the bag I totally agree with. I do feel a glow Reactor could be close to your Roc3, but those thunderbirds definitely don’t have a true gyro equivalent without making some tough choices.
The thunderbird is my all time favorite disc. It’s so money
I'd say a Tesla is probably the closest equivalent to a Thundy. Love your review videos by the way bruv!
How is a wrath in comparison?
They do with the glow insanity i think, nice thundy replacement
@@axlespelledwrong yea Tesla is money
I bought an Axiom Insanity last year just to try out the gyro, and now my bag is over half MVP/Axiom less than a year later. This gyro has a hold on me right now.
Insanity was also my first. It was the Crave that really made me a convert. The Wave is on the verge of taking the spot from my trusty old Wraiths.
Insanity was my first too. now I also have a Wave, Inertia, Hex, Uplink, and Paradox.
the insanity was also the start of my conversion haha, as a relatively new player it was the first disc I could consistently hyzerflip for distance. now I bag 2 of them along with a hex which I absolutely love, and a mayhem that I don't quite know how to love yet
Oh boy. I just bought my Insanity this summer...
Envy was the one that did it for me. I never had a putter I could trust like that. Then I got an insanity and it was game over. I throw 100% axiom/streamline/MVP now, except for my putter. I use a Pure for putting 😂
Awesome video. I am 90% Gyro. You are well on your way! The one thing you said that MVP is great at is the discs are so consistent run to run. If I loose one, I grab another and they fly the same, every time. Plastic matters but the same plastic and same mold are so consistent it is amazing. Like someone else said, keep playing and see what you think after 2 or 3 months.
Except for the Photon unfortunately.
Woo! Was incredibly surprised to see Hunter showing one of my dyed Paradox discs! ... Hunter if you want another dyed disc, hit me up! Would be happy to make a custom dye for you!
Super cool experiment, I would love to see it with Kastaplast next!
It would be nice, but I'm not certain Kasta has enough molds to complete his bag... This is noticeable when Kasta-sponsored players are throwing Destroyers because there really isn't a Kasta mold there.
Amazing video and loving these kinds of challenges where you deep dive into something new! I am excited to see if any more of these types of videos come out!
This was an awesome video idea! I’ve loved the videos where you and Trevor build out bags with a single brand and play a round, and this was basically a much more in depth version of that! Love both formats because I love learning about other brands that I haven’t thrown 👍🏼
So many people stick with the same stuff all the time when sometimes all it takes is trying new things to find what they need, this shows that very well
Got my first ace with my 2nd mvp disc ever, the fission wave. Can't recommend it enough.
Threw the fission wave for the first time today and I felt like I was throwing my best backhands of my short disc golf career
I am so so so excited to watch this. Just bought my first MVP disc, (Reactor) and I'm in love. I've been waiting and refreshing for this!
Been looking forward to this video. Cant wait to watch!
I loved this video! So cool to see a whole bag replacement and how they compare! I’d love to see you do this with other brands like Kastaplast!
I really enjoyed this video! I don’t have one gyro disc in my bag but I feel like I know them all now and definitely going to try some out! Would love to see more videos like this with other brands! I learned a lot! Thanks hunter!
Great concept! Extremely interesting to see your progression during the month. MVP/Axiom are so good in the throwing putter slots
You should give the reactor another shot. The eclipse ones are the perfect stability if you want the Roc3 vibe.
I just commented the same thing. Glow Reactor is a 98% match to the Roc3.
Pyro is better
@@JoshJackson13 they are different discs.
@@JoshJackson13 more stable anyway
Agreed!
Thanks for being so open and I think ithe video was really good!
Dude!
I’ve been waiting for this!!!!
Yes! I bought a crave to try out 1 year ago, and now I am nearly all gyro (can't lose that berg)
I am so excited to see how your month goes. I'm sure you will love it.
LOVED this. When I first started playing seriously a few years ago, I found that MVP and Axiom discs just felt amazing and flew soooo good. Love MVP.
Really great video. Extremely informative!
Great video. Love how it made me just want to buy every disc and just play disc golf. With a recent baby we just had this year this summer has been a wash for me actually playing and the withdrawal is real. Glad I get to at least watch you guys try the things I don't have time for currently.
I loved this video. Great choice on molds you swapped in!
Loved this!!! Have Trevor do something similar! I’m a huge nerd and disc talk/bag building is my jam
Love the honesty on the “flex” discs, and the process of why you changed from the disc you used to bag to the mvp/axiom disc you’ve been playing with.
Would love to see this series continue.
Loved this video!
Great video! I’d love to see one of these with an all prodigy bag or a bag with all small companies/discs outside of the top 100!
This is my favorite foundation video ever. It's something I think a lot of am disc golfers would love to be able to try, so we can kind of live vicariously through you. I would love to see you or Trevor try it with another company!
I’ve been waiting for this video to come out. I started with 2 gyro discs a few years ago and it gradually became my favorite brand. This year I went full gyro and I’ve never been better at this game. The only discs I still miss are the sergeant, the fuse, and the tern.
Completely agree about consitent form. I have the same issues when I start getting tired and losing focus. At these times the discs don't flip like you want them. So the key is learning to throw consistently and when you do you will be rewarded.
This kind of content is just gold. I can't afford to go and change my bag out so having content creators like you, do a video like this is just awesome.
I do not throw too much mvp but I did get a crave, uplink, and an insanity in a mystery box. I just love the crave. I use it for mostly my straight shots about 270-325 feet. It is just gold. It gets the nod of approval from my card mates when I thread that disc through the trees.
I really need to get me some envys though. That should be next on the disc to get.
One of your channel’s best videos
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Would be awesome as an annual series with a different manufacturer or brand each time
Super cool experiment!
Best MVP Axiom video ever made!!!
love this video idea!
love this video
Love the vid. On a crazy Gyro kick at the moment . Absolutely love the Crave and Octane! Two of my favorites and I bag mixed brands. Just whatever feels right
I thought this was great and really interesting. Thanks!
I rewatched this after bagging MVP discs in my open bag for under 2 years. My Infinite Discs Inca and Innova RocX3 can't be replaced with any MVP mold. The feel of beaded rim in my hands makes them so great.
Super cool experiment to do. Definitely would enjoy seeing one of the other foundation team try a similar test with a different brand.
Hate in the bag videos, but thoroughly enjoyed this format. Thanks for taking the challenge and great bag recreation format
Great video, thanks for this. 😇
Mad respect for this video
Absolutely loving the Uplink. Release slow and flat and it pans very slowly right with a slight finish left (RHBH). Then you can tune the straight vs. right turn based on footwork speed and hyzer-to-flat release angle.
I received an uplink and a relay (bagged) in a mystery box. i need to give that uplink a try. My star spider might be a thing of the past
I just added 6 lightweight Axiom discs to my bag in July & am loving them! So far the Crave & Insanity are my favs
This is one of my favorite videos that brought me to this channel. Would love to see an update
Nice Pluto sticker! Ever since I moved to Knoxville I've loved that store!
I was impressed by how dialed Hunter got off the tee with the MVP. This was the best we've seen from Hunter as far as consistent rounds
Ive owned around 5 fission waves. I currently have 2 and bag both, and they are the best distance drivers ive ever thrown. One is a little more stable than the other and ive thrown in over 430 about 3 or 4 times, which ive never done with any other disc ive owned.
What weights u throwing?
@@ericporter2373 They're both 175g
I started throwing mvp only at the beginning of the year and so far its been the best year of disc golf i played, 5 aces within a month, swvetal top 10 tournaments and finished 4th in a tournament i previously took last in, much love for mvp and there disc line up. Hoping one day for the sponsorship but its been fantastic
That was a fun adventure!
Love the reaction to the deflector at 7:12 haha great vid!
Already excited for Griplock this week!
30:50 is exactly why I throw mostly MVP. Their consistency is way better than the rest of the industry. When I lose a disc, I know I can go buy one in the same plastic / weight and it will fly exactly the same as what I lost
I've been a full time gyro for years. I have a second run sand paper bottom Ion I put with. As they released the discs I gradually moved over from Innova. I still throw molds that are discontinued. Can't wait to see your journey! PS. Volts are so versatile.
I actually just got 4 Axiom discs to try recently for no other reason than to try the Gryo tech and see how they throw. I have enjoyed them all so far and this video was super helpful when it comes to considering some other discs from MVP. Thanks for sharing!
The Servo is a great addition too
This is a really underutilized disc in the MVP community. Love this disc, it fly's straight for 300' and then gets a mild fade for 330' of flight for me. Love how its a point and shoot disc really straight for me.
Yeah it was cool Hunter, MVP is getting huge now!!
Petition for Hunter to redo this challenge in 2024 in light of recent Simon and Eagle signings!! Let's go!
Great vid
i’m really liking the 14speed Teleport i added recently. i’ve also had the deflector, a base envy and nomads in the bag. i’m loving my mix bag
Really? I must've gotten some crazy ones because I've gotten both an Excite and a Teleport, and they fly pretty much the same for me and that's a 0,4 level of overstability. I can't get either of them to flip for me even with a 360, and I usually average 485 with my cloudbreakers
That is by far the coolest Nike t shirt I've ever seen. Good stuff Konner
I recently started using the Signal and it's quickly become one of my favorite discs.
Fun stuff!
Very interesting video. Really surprised that the Jackalope got the boot. It's a disc I absolutely love to throw. I will be ordering an Insanity this week to compare.
Love adding MVP to my bag. Good to know about the Octane, as I am also a huge fan of the Hades but they have been super hard to find.
Beginning of the video: “everyone is saying Deflector is too stable but that’s not possible, that’s what I want in that disc”
End: “Deflector is just too stable, I get a straighter flight out of the recluse… Deflector is out”
It worked great, but it just wasn’t the same as my recluse 🤣 It saved me a lot of strokes during the 30 days though
@@FoundationDG You want a Pyro. It’s a longer zone.
@@FoundationDG I had the same problem when I tried the deflector. Tried the pyro and it was better but still just a hair too overstable. The cosmic neutron Runway despite not being gyro ended up being the perfect fit for what I wanted. Straighter to start and a little more glide but still with a super strong overstable finish.
@@FoundationDG if you want beef but more forward push the 6 speed resistor is my go to for that.
Title of this video should have been "When it's all said and done" hahah Hunter's new catch phrase
Fantastic video. I throw about 1/2 gyro. Mostly craves and Hex but just got an octane and it bombs.
Some great shots on camera! The discs flights were amazing. Wondering why no one recommended a Pyro. It’s longer Entropy once it beats in, especially in a lighter weight. I use Deflector for a Justice replacement. Love the Matrix in Electron. A glow Reactor is also a great mid. I didn’t mesh with the Hex. Motion is also a good Raptor type disc but essentially a fireball. Surprised at the Volt, but understand. Servo and Crave combo is very nice too. Overall I’m happy to see you trying gyro and giving them a legit chance. I look forward to more vids with your new bag
Nice video, Hunter.
The pain in Hunters eyes when looking at his various Rocs was obvious as he knew what he should do but his heart was telling him something else
I think I would like to see a prodigy or RPM full bag with trevor. RPM has some really good molds but some weird ones as well. My cosmic kiwi flew like a tilt when I was wanting an invictus/starfire replacement
Glad to see the Chuck away destroyer still made the bag!!!
Few years ago, I started trying MVP when my favorite molds from Discraft (and to a lesser extent, Millennium) were discontinued or unobtainable. I must have been the only one who liked ESP FLX. . . (not in my Challengers, though Z plastic only for those, please)
First impressions is the fly more stable to overstable than I expect, given disc weight and/or profile. For me that makes them my goto for throwing into a headwind or downhill.
Props to you for going full Gyro for the month. Couldn't of been easy, especially with the battles and "Creators Cup," and now you have found some new discs you like to throw. But here is the problem, I have now been convinced that I should try all of these discs. The only Gyro I own is a Nomad, other than that, I have none. It is about to be very expensive for me, LOL! Thankfully I have 15% off from yall's store through Patreon!
I'm in the process of converting over myself and I also am absolutely loving the Insanity! Mine is a little more understable than the normal numbers but it flies fantastic.
As someone who bags mostly MVP/Axiom/Streamline, I've been looking forward to this video for a minute.
I just switched to putting with ions and throwing with nomads from judges and kc/jk aviars. I absolutely love them. I also have a hex and it’s the best mid I’ve ever thrown
dope video
I bag 3 insanity’s, absolutely love them. Ones flippy other is stable and a beefy one. Hold torque for me specially with a slower arm speed.
Definitely should have tried out a Reactor. Probably my most trusted mid. I do love the Hex and Crave as well. Along with the Envy of course. Great video. Also, there is no possible way Konner is that dang busy behind you. 😂
Guys!! 80K 🥳🥳🥳
This was a cool video, more like it would be very pog.
I just recently tried my first mvp family discs, god they are great, got the proton deflector, cosmic neutron flare and proton pilot so far
For the wave (or any flex disc for that matter), it might be worth trying a few in a mix of weights / plastics to find your sweet flex spot for your preferred speed of throw. Recently did that experiment myself and it was amazing to see how reliable each is when throwing at different speeds, each having it’s own unique flex flight. They bomb when you find the right one.
Great vid...would be nice to know which discs you were throwing during some of those shots to be able to put the disc to the flight path. Love my eclipse reactor...super good on both sides of the body.
Wow, that last throw in Charleston was awesome!
Fission wave is great for effortless distance. It was the first disk I got a good hyzer flip out of. I want a new one as I through mine out of the baseball field I was practicing in over a stream and into a dog park, had a couple good bites in it when I got back. Also thanks for the dark horse jawbreaker undertaker at Charleston Hunter!
Been throwing only gyro for 2 years now and I love it more and more.
I picked up the gyropaloza box just to check out their discs and half the box went in my bag hahaha I am a noodle arm and their mids and putters are amazing!!! Now I understand why when I get into the hybrid/distance driver I was having issues!
I didn't set out to have an all gyro bag, but after trying out a fission Tesla like 2 years ago other MVP/Axiom moulds have slowly trickled into my bag to the point where gyro makes up a good 80%. Still bag a Berg, Reko, Kaxe Z, but everything else is gyro. Love the fission Wave and fission Crave, or any plastic Crave for that matter.
To test once and for all if gyro technology actually makes discs go farther and not just mvp has some good far flying molds they need to release some gyro discs as streamline and test them against each other
Should try the pyro in that recluse slot it’s money
