Ikanaide means 'don't go' and has a sad but true backstory. If you want to know about it, all you have to do is react to Autumn Strong from Gloria Wu channel with backstory. It’s the same song but here he sings this song in Mandarin with different lyrics. Or I'm sure another Dear will explain the story😅.

Ikanaide (the original) was written by the Japanese singer Koji Tamaki in 1989.
This song is sooo beautiful❤️. And he performed it with so much emotions. You literally can feel his pain😪. His first song in Japanese. He has been invited to perform at the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. But he couldn't go to Japan because of Covid. So he had to sing it from the studio in China. There he took part in the show Shine! Super Brothers. I’m not sure but I think it was his studio in China. But I do know he got a studio as a gift for his birthday.
If the Japanese reactors are to be believed, Dimash sang in perfect Japanese. Some also claimed that it was better Japanese than many Japanese themselves😅.

The lyrics of Ikanaide (Japanese) and Autumn Strong (Mandarin) are different but melody is the same...and both these songs are based on the same true story...
These songs are about a Chinese-born actress of Japanese ancestry during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage and became famous in China. However, once the war was over and her identity was revealed, she was accused of being a spy and was deported back to Japan...and forbidden to return to China. However, she did return after a long time in her later years as a Japanese parliamentarian.
I concur, the best version of Autumn Strong is from Dimash's concert in Kiev 😍🎼🌷💕

This is a beautiful song and he also did a Mandarin cover first, in 2017. Same melody but different lyrics and for me, I love both but I listen to the Mandarin cover more. It just flows better to my ears, and the lyrics are absolutely heartbreaking. Autumn Strong.

Ikanaide is the cover of the original Japanese song, and Dimash also sings it in Mandarin called Autumn Strong (his first go brought the house down in China). And then there are his concert versions, the best of which was in 2020 in the Ukraine Arnau Tour, red suit sitting, and with Marigolds sung to his mum and the Ukrainian mums for Mother's Day, and the first vocalise version of Know. Watch them all !

Dimash's first appearance on stage as a performer was at the age of two in a minor role in a local theater production.
He began acting at a young age. At home, he became interested in musical instruments; and his parents and his music teacher noticed that he had absolute pitch.
Dimash is well-recognized for his wide vocal range, spanning seven octaves and seven semitones, from Si0 to Re8 . According to various sources, he has been heard live (Stranger) hitting a C2 and D8 (Unforgettable Day). His whistle register can hit notes in the eight octaves. Dimash sings in multiple musical genres.
At the age of five, he began taking piano and singing lessons at the children's studio of the Zhubanov Music College, where he would later attend university accompanied by his grandmother Miua. He has expressed gratitude to his early teachers and to his grandmother, who took him to his lessons every day despite the pain in his legs. Dimash first sang on stage the same year, at the age of five. He later attended Gymnasium No. 32 in Aktobe. Dimash completed a Broadway Musical master class in 2009.
He speaks Kazakh, Russian and English, and is studying Mandarin. He has performed songs in 16 languages: Kazakh, Russian, English, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Serbian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Kyrgyz, Japanese, Armenian, Arabic and Cantonese.

There is a version of this from the competition show in China called "The Singer" from 2017. This song came under the title Autumn Strong..the back story and that version of the song can be found on his channel and under a person with the last name of Wu ( I'm sorry I can't remember her 1st name, but someone here may be able to supply that information). The back story is a must, as it brings home the emotion and the meaning of the song. It is a beautiful song. Again the other name is AUTUMN STRONG. Thank you for your reaction 😊❤

Thanks for your reaction here, Saeed. I believe Dimash sang this song in Mandarin Chinese under the song title of "Autumn Strong" a few years before the Japanese version came out. This is my first viewing of the Japanese version, and as expected, it is a masterwork, as well. I don't know how the Japanese version is generally being produced, but a number of the Mandarin versions included the song's historical backstory (mentioned by other commenters here, I'm sure) as well. Please do avail yourself of this backstory. It is touching and significant, indeed.

At recent concerts, Dimash sings a mash up of both the mandarin version and Japanese one. At the German concert, he asked the audience which version they wanted. of course, different people shouted different choices, so he teased and said he would sing it in Kazakh, Gloria Wu has the backstory of Autumn Strong, performed in 2017 but I like the performance in Kiev, before the war there. He does a very different ending which is beautiful too, But Ikenaide is my favourite.
