I was able to get hold of them irs crooks two weeks ago. They told me that nothing was wrong with my filing and delays are due to covid and shit, and I filed my taxes on March 13th. So basically I just have to wait but they didn't specify for how long. This whole situation is driving me nuts because if per say I owe them money, fucking irs they wouldn't let me alone for one day.

I had this happen before and the irs did give me interest. I filed in 2018 and had to amend and other stuff and wait until oct 2019 and they gave me the refund plus interest. So they do give interest.
It is so ironic how swiftly they took our money during this pandemic, but suddenly cannot return our money to us BECAUSE of the pandemic. When we do get said overpayment it is without interest, but, if an underpayment occurred have to pay penalties, and late fees. If that is not being "screwed" (nice word used) without the benefit of Vaseline I do not know what is.
The irs sucks, all they have is excuses, I filed April 16th and it’s still processing, but it you owed them money you’d get a letter every week hounding you! I've been caught up in all this as well and it's been rough with the delay especially when you lose your employment due to the pandemic and the unemployment department is also experiencing extreme delays, thank God for food banks or I would probably die of starvation by this point.

Mine is being held up and I was told that people are quitting because of the shot mandate and cases are being passed around until they are worked by whomever ended up with the case load. I was also told to be looking at the end of Nov for the payment.

Delayed. I called and they "claimed" that it was forwarded to the department that handles errors. I had my tax reviewed and there were NO errors. I was told my taxes would be escalated for release if I didn't receive a letter from the IRS within 60 days of me filing. I called back after 60 days because I hadn't received a letter...the rep stated that they had rescinded the rule of 60 days and that NOW they are allowed to hold your taxes as long as it takes due to the complications caused by the pandemic.

I filed initially in February 2021. Made an error on the stimulus payment box, and filed an amendment in April 2021. To this day (April 2022) I have not received my refund. You’re right; calling is pointless. I even went into their office, last September-it made no difference.

Why is it that the 2020 paper tax returns are taking so long, when other years before e filing everything went kind of smooth.... the back log is from incompetent employees no doubt...with more people filing e filing, that should have made it a lot easier to look over the paper returns...

My mom and niece filed same day. Niece got hers within 21 days. It is a month later still shows they have no information on moms hers should be close to 9k. Neices was under 400.

My refund is still delayed I filed Feb 21st ...I received a notice was in hold for 60 days then I received a letter I qualified for EIC and it will be another 6-8 weeks. 9 weeks later I called and they said my return was actually on hold and under review for 120 days and not the original 60..now they are saying to call back after July 27 🙄

Everyone needs to adjust their W4 forms so they don’t get a refund. Over-paying your taxes is like giving the government an interest-free loan. The government keeps printing $$$ while not refunding your money. Don’t let it happen again next year!
I got unexpected tax credits for this past year. As I am considered self-employed for tax purposes (due to the nature of my job, I get a W-2 but it is considered self-employment income), I do my own withholding. I also didn't get all of the stimulus that I should have received (due to a child born during 2020), so that's also on the refund. So I'm waiting on a few thousand dollars from the IRS. I even adjusted my estimated payments as well.
I hope it gets to my family before school starts, fortunately I am employed so I have the means to by supplies school clothes and shoes for the kids, but the ones who dont have a job right now its rough on their household! Get America its money!
I finally got my refund, waiting since April, I got less than the tax man coated,the IRS sent me a letter after saying their was a miscalculation on my taxes so I got $500 less than I expected. I don't know where the miscalculation happened just glad I got my taxes, hooray.
I didn't get my $600 stimulus check, so I filed for an income tax stimulus rebate as required by the IRS to get my stimulus check. Which was several months prior to tax season. I filed on February 12 and finally it showed up as processing in May! I am still waiting. Weren't these checks supposed to be used as an economic stimulus for the nation? I did my taxes in February before the American Rescue plan and was told by my tax preparer that I owe the IRS $83 due to the Covid and I had to collect unemployment benefits for 2020. Now I've been waiting for the IRS to do the recalculation of my taxes and I'm entitled to a refund, per my tax preparer. Still waiting for that money. Not sure if I will get it before this year ends. And no one answers the phone at IRS. A bunch of scammers.

I held myself to the usual Aprril15th deadline rather than the extention. I did not want to drag it out and I wanted to beat the late filers. My form is the EZ one. My taxes are not difficult. It is very possible that I could have made a mistake. I also think that the longer they hang on to my federal return the more interest on my money they collect. I was able to get hold of them irs crooks two weeks ago. They told me that nothing was wrong with my filing and delays are due to covid and shit, and I filed my taxes on March 13th. So basically I just have to wait but they didn't specify for how long. This whole situation is driving me nuts because if per say I owe them money, fucking irs they wouldn't let me alone for one day.

I had this happen before and the irs did give me interest. I filed in 2018 and had to amend and other stuff and wait until oct 2019 and they gave me the refund plus interest. So they do give interest.

It is so ironic how swiftly they took our money during this pandemic, but suddenly cannot return our money to us BECAUSE of the pandemic. When we do get said overpayment it is without interest, but, if an underpayment occurred have to pay penalties, and late fees. If that is not being "screwed" (nice word used) without the benefit of Vaseline I do not know what is.

I've been caught up in all this as well and it's been rough with the delay especially when you lose your employment due to the pandemic and the unemployment department is also experiencing extreme delays, thank God for food banks or I would probably die of starvation by this point.

Delayed. I called and they "claimed" that it was forwarded to the department that handles errors. I had my tax reviewed and there were NO errors. I was told my taxes would be escalated for release if I didn't receive a letter from the IRS within 60 days of me filing. I called back after 60 days because I hadn't received a letter...the rep stated that they had rescinded the rule of 60 days and that NOW they are allowed to hold your taxes as long as it takes due to the complications caused by the pandemic.

I filed initially in February 2021. Made an error on the stimulus payment box, and filed an amendment in April 2021. To this day (April 2022) I have not received my refund. You’re right; calling is pointless. I even went into their office, last September-it made no difference.

Why is it that the 2020 paper tax returns are taking so long, when other years before e filing everything went kind of smooth.... the back log is from incompetent employees no doubt...with more people filing e filing, that should have made it a lot easier to look over the paper returns...

My refund is still delayed I filed Feb 21st ...I received a notice was in hold for 60 days then I received a letter I qualified for EIC and it will be another 6-8 weeks. 9 weeks later I called and they said my return was actually on hold and under review for 120 days and not the original 60..now they are saying to call back after July 27 🙄

I got unexpected tax credits for this past year. As I am considered self-employed for tax purposes (due to the nature of my job, I get a W-2 but it is considered self-employment income), I do my own withholding. I also didn't get all of the stimulus that I should have received (due to a child born during 2020), so that's also on the refund. So I'm waiting on a few thousand dollars from the IRS. I even adjusted my estimated payments as well.
I hope it gets to my family before school starts, fortunately I am employed so I have the means to by supplies school clothes and shoes for the kids, but the ones who dont have a job right now its rough on their household! Get America its money!

I finally got my refund, waiting since April, I got less than the tax man coated,the IRS sent me a letter after saying their was a miscalculation on my taxes so I got $500 less than I expected. I don't know where the miscalculation happened just glad I got my taxes, hooray.

I didn't get my $600 stimulus check, so I filed for an income tax stimulus rebate as required by the IRS to get my stimulus check. Which was several months prior to tax season. I filed on February 12 and finally it showed up as processing in May! I am still waiting. Weren't these checks supposed to be used as an economic stimulus for the nation? Why is the IRS allowed to stymi the economy of the nation?

I did my taxes in February before the American Rescue plan and was told by my tax preparer that I owe the IRS $83 due to the Covid and I had to collect unemployment benefits for 2020. Now I've been waiting for the IRS to do the recalculation of my taxes and I'm entitled to a refund, per my tax preparer. Still waiting for that money. Not sure if I will get it before this year ends. And no one answers the phone at IRS. A bunch of scammers.

I heard you can file a 3711 to inquire about your refund and prove your eligibility, more work and no time. I just want my refund, I moved and it cost me a lot, had to borrow and need to pay it back.
