i love how, the more ambient the music gets, the more liminal the pools become
The more ambient the music gets, the more liminal and eerie the pictures become
Someone points it out besides me that these aren't just nostalgic but liminal too. There's definitely a connection. The oddly comforting 90s and early 2000s music enhances the experience.
I wish I could visit pools like those
Same. But I think I would not enter the pool. Just blazing, listening to vaporwave and enjoying the poolcore aura.
@@cybercrusader420That would be utterly beautiful, that sort of thing’s always been a dream of mine, to eat an edible, put some headphones on and listen to vapourwave while walking through a shopping centre as that edible gradually makes me extremely stoned.
It’d be nothing short of absolutely heavenly
I don't understand why you can't. There are so many of those! Las Vegas, Berlin, Da Nang...
@@pinkimietz3243 Berlin sucks. Sodom and Gomorrah combined into one town.
@@arthurfleck629do it brother
I love how the last ones are rather creepy, after almost an hour of relatively calm and chill music I didn't expect that
fuck the last one
@@solomale2156 It was such a nice relaxing calming playlist and then it became disturbing, eerie, and then melancholic. Like I was enjoying a nice relaxing day, afternoon and evening at the pool only to be stalked, tortured, and ultimately killed with the only thing left being the memories of a once happy vacation.
@@SolidBren yeah fr.. at some point i just realised that what i'm listening to is terrifying
It’s a trait that all of this guy’s videos seem to follow, the scenery gets more and more unnatural and creepy as the songs go by, kinda matching the vibe of “the longer you stay in the liminal realm, the further you stray from reality.”
@@willc3697That's a pretty cool idea that follows some psychoanalytical realities, derealization/depersonalisation and such. Also reminds me of that whole 'Everywhere at the end of time' vibe, the slow breakdown of your perception of reality like Alzheimers, something so familiar & comforting slowly but steadily becoming so alien and terrifying
These pics are exactly the kind of rides I would go to a theme park for.
hearing dan manson's "Partly 曇った" hit me like a freight train due to how often i listen to that song.
anyone notice the music and scenery started to get more unsettling towards the end?
True vaporwave. Anti commercialism.
@@NobuxD this guy gets it
Slowly turned to liminal places and that came hand in hand with the music. But few of them had a good colorature, though.
In the end it's like you are slowly submerging. The last one in particular is the only image underwater. Like you completely lost yourself into this reality. But it's also very peaceful, in contrast with the previous ones, which I think it's pretty cool.
Like the fear of death or of losing yourself in these places, which in the last ones is visible as they are progressively more claustrophobic/dreadful, just to discover peace once you completely abandoned yourself to the process.
Or maybe I'm reading too much into it, idk
Well at least now i'm getting ready for that; just starting. I hope someone makes a playlist like this but in the style of the first song and picture. 🌊
I love how it progressively gets darker and darker, like, fr. The last ones I felt like I was drowning and that I was listening to my final song alive. Amazing journey, thanks for the upload
Aquatic Ambience! Bringing in that SNES Donkey Kong Country 😃
Somebody should make a VaporWave themed park and call it VaporWorld.
Working on it good idea, im goaling to get 6.000.000,00€ vc startup project wich ofc 80% im going to get it is goind to be in Romania but when/if its done im gonna remember you ❤
@@eddieeddie1249bri what
That's an awesome idea 😊
Really got a point there
@@yannfaure11 there was no point made
46:47 resembles a dream I had, but there was a 360-degree supply of pools, and you could dive in and out of one and portal into another, just to come out the other side. Also the mood was very pleasant and open and amazing, like Zora's fountain. There was black marble surrounding every pool and terracotta walls, instead of tile walls. No windows, but sunlight was everywhere. Animals would swim and walk with me. It was a magical place.
the visuals was icing on the cake bro idk where u got them from but i feel like ive seen some of them in dreams
Ah, vaporwave, the perfect topic to take us on a nostalgic journey through the hazy realms of the internet. Now, for those of you who may not know what vaporwave is, let me break it down for you. Imagine you just stumbled upon a lost VHS tape from the '80s or '90s, filled with smooth jazz, distorted samples, and trippy visuals.
@@PoisonelleMisty4311 I describe it as watching Kmart ads
I found out about vaporwave through a Simpsonswave edit on youtube back in 2015. I fell in love with the genre and have been a consistent listener for 9 years now. It's weird having songs that when I first heard them, they would spark nostalgia about my childhood like crazy, those same songs now being old enough that they now make me nostalgic of where I was when I first heard that song.
Vaporwave ambience albums are sick too, you should check out artists like telepath and 2814 and desert sand feels warm at night. @@PoisonelleMisty4311

I love how my boy desert sand feels warm at night is there
Never have I wanted to go swimming so badly.
shame these aren't animated

They are - Look up Backroom footages - Pools.
But beware - that stuff is intended to be creepy.
the reputation of the backrooms has fallen off so hard in recent years :(@@digimaks
@@Eternalight2036who cares lol it's just for music purposes
Maybe some day
That took quite the sinister turn
Kmart means so much to me... I'm misty eyed right now thinking about it 😢
The way the start feels listening to the radio in a room then it sounds like a house band playing in the lobby on a cruise
This mix is incredibly damp, I feel like I'm in a dimly lit pool cave listening to this and I love it. Add some reverb with an audio effect program and it's even better
didn't realize how much i needed eternal spa
hm...
I can say of this video, that even before it gets to the terror part at 1:00 Almost every (or every) picture gets me an uncanny/disturbing vibe (sometimes also with its music)
I have seen many videos with music of liminal spaces (i love them) most have me fascinated with their beauty and calmnes.
But this one, have me a little disturbed even before the remarkable change after one hour.
You can say the autor really did his best. I wouldn't want to be in many of those places 😶
Supermega intro in the beginning⁉️
I really like your playlists, the pictures you put up with and the subtle progressive shift of mood. This one hits differently for me, just because of the spa/pool theme. My hometown's pool was burned down to the ground last christmas (no one was harm though). That whole 80's piece of architecture was the embodiement of a liminal space for me and it's gone forever now. I like to remember what it was while listening to this playlist.
This is awesome man! If I were to make some sort of 80's or late 70's hotel ide def use this for the lounge or spa. Great work and I wish you luck on your career X3
Funk Fiction being part of this compilation is such a godsend. Never would've seen his appearance coming!! 💓🙌
Ugh! I've sincerely had dreams about some of these! It's literally a fantasy of mine to find a real place like these and have it all to myself and be naked. 😌
why be naked tho
@@withoutsword_ seriously?? why would you wanna be clothed especially if you were alone...?
@@joeychavez8599 Idk, I was just asking

Full agreement
This is amazing. Two of my favorite things, vaporwave music and the sound of running water. Pure bliss. 💚🥰
I like the look of the pool in song 4, the lighting is cozy not creepy.
Indoor spas have such a good vibe and i don't know why
poolrooms ost official music confirmed
vaporwave never dies
fr
Why did you have to make it so creepy at the end? 😫
Paradise .
super mega
😓
This was worth experiencing twice. First for the dreamy vibes, second time for the deliciously fuzzy visuals.
I miss going here as a kid...is what I'm sure everyone is feeling
we love vaporwave

These watery pools tickles my brain in just the right spots
Nice aesthetics bro!!!
ive visited every single one of these pools
thank you for putting this playlist together
the last ones terrify me, but except for those, its just awesome and my main university concentration music
17:36 Hotel theme from Shenmue 3 is the sample being used in case anyone was curious.
I miss 2016s vaporwave
fabulous.
i dont like the weird creepiness at the end but whatever the rest is good
Great visuals, smooth music choices- thanks for the upload!
Great, thanks.
These are awesome ❤
Starting out with a banger I see.
loved all the renders and liminal poolrooms!
This is an awesome mix 👏
A very beautifully made list.
I love this video. I listen to it a lot
This journey is great to drink to, the bourbon heat washing over the brain, as with 80's jazz and liminal pool-scapes.
The aesthetic in the photo at 17:38 seems very familiar, but I don't know what to call it. It almost reminds me bedsheets for infants.
real
i feel mindful
I love Stsrnal Spas!
That edible kicked in at the right time
most relatable comment on a vaporwave comp.

Nice! more jams to add into my chill playlist, i love when my uncultured coworkers tell me it sounds like elevator music lol
My friends fall asleep to it 🙃
Was nice to see some Signalwave on here. Always a joy to relax with some Infinity Frequencies or Webdriver.
Those ones made me anxious. lmao
This is the first time I've been to this pool, but somehow it's in my memory.
Funk fiction is my favourite artist
when i die take me to the pool rooms forever
the power of sketch up + Vray💪💪💪!!!
Super mega
Vaporwave makes me want to go to swim in some hotel indoor pools
Гениально
Some of those screenshots are actually from Backroom Footages - Pools!
Great eye thank you for the comment
please return the video ETERNAL HOTEL™ - a Nostalgic Liminal Journey.
I really really liked it...
oh to be on mushrooms in 40:21 would be perfection
Someday someone’s gonna make a pool room/pool hotel/big pool thingy and make _bank_
💜

18:32 oh god that messes with me
jesus the photos went from pure aesthetic to horror show and i love it
1:00:23 The very first vibe of "uh oh... something is not right here..."
That first track reminds me of two very special funny brothers.
Frasier & Niles??
👍
It's like a place where God lives
Drown me here
A lot of these tracks remind me of Yu Yu Hakusho.
They all look oddly familiar.
The spa floor of the backrooms
i dont like the spotify playlist because there is no cassette filters on the audio so i keep listening on youtube
This fucking mix man omfg
34:48 Rippingtons - Tourist in Paradise
me, a greek: ah yes, the stsrnal spa
11:37 On an island near Puerto Rico, you're in a luxurious bathtub washing yourself while you wait for your "master" to get ready. (sometime in 2002)
The thing about these places is that they get boring, just the same as everything else in this world. Oh well, nuts to the noonday demon, cool stuff is cool even if the novelty wears off.
Never Heard That Music
i fucking love this so muchhhh
Love this but why does it open with the the supermega somg 😭
