Very nostalgic for me. Aramis was my college scent back in the early 1970s. I need to reintroduce this scent to my life. Thanks for reigniting some younger day memories.
Boy, this brings back memories. My brother-in-law wore Aramis exclusively from head to toe including soap-on-a-rope, deodorant & cologne. He would get complimented EVERYWHERE he went from both men & women. It's a beautiful fragrance without being overpowering. Looking forward to your reviews & your closet = 😍😍😍
Ah, Aramis, we all return at some point to your comforting depths! Great review of this old favorite and, yes, I also feel that it’s subtle floral undertones make it perfect in the Spring. Tiomkin’s love theme is one of cinema’s most beautiful and least heard-wonderful inclusion, Sir!👍
Hi Lanier. You brought me so many memories with this review! Aramis was my dad’s signature fragrance. I remember smelling it on him every morning when I was a child and thinking what a lovely fragrance that was, or is actually. I have managed to find a mini bottle of it so that I can smell that wonderful and unique aroma whenever I think of him. Aramis is to me one of the best fragrances ever created. Thank you for the great review as always, and I can’t wait for a closset tour 🙂
What a haunting song! If the fragrance is anything like that... I love your closet by the way! I finally have room in mine but I need to get my storage organized, so thanks for the inspiration!!
You are welcome Jesse...Yes that is a very haunting love song from one of the last great Epics of the 1960's...and Sophia Loren to boot. I keep my closet tidy by have a place for everything and everything in it's place. I leaned that by living in a one room studio for 26 years. It paid off. Cheers Luv.
Thoroughly enjoyed your review and hearing your take on this Lanier. I grew up smelling Aramis so it holds a special place in my heart. A true gentlemans classic and one of the all-time greats. Btw love the pic of Aramis from the Three Musketeers too⚔️
Isn't that a great painting of Aramis? It really spoke to me of the fragrance. It is so interesting how many people have great memories of Aramis. That certainly reflects upon its class as a classic. Cheers.
I like your Nero Roman Empperor statue, super classic, and also i m gonna buy that superb Aramis Aramis for men, even i m just 25, but i fell in love with the classic ones, with the leather acords, musc, spices, tobacco, and many more. Nice video mr. Lanier, as always profess ional!
Excellent review as always. Your description is certainly spot on for me. I first wore this in the late 70's and then switched to Paco Rabanne (can't remember why). I have returned to this recently when I saw a coffret on special (with the a/s balm) and it brought back a lot a good memories. The fragrance is as good today as I remember it from back then. I think of it as a real manly scent - probably because of how it was advertised in the day. I am really happy to go back to having this in my collection. It is also still BEAST mode thank goodness and will last on me a good 8-10 hours.
Yes I failed to mention the Beasty aspect of Araimis 1928flash. It really lasts and lasts. Happy you have re-discovered this wonderful fragrance. Cheers.
That's a closet? Wonderful! I could happily live in there. And looking forward to your Must De Cartier review, but companiero: That Dolce Gabana is it! My personal fave amongst all the hoi polloi of designer "pour homme" juices. That lavender/cardamom accord is heavenly. And is that the vintage version? Super Dacob is an angel! And yes, Aramis pour homme is a classic. Granted, I have not tried the older, vintage version, but did have a decant of the current formulation, and it is terrific. Very masculine and classy. It makes me feel like I could storm corporate board rooms or, in my case, just flow through my daily, mundane at work tasks with an "Art of War," Sun Tzu-like cool. Good stuff. Going to have to score another decant. Or perhaps purchase a bottle--I would be unstoppable! Great review as always, mille grazie!
Thank you for this thoughtful and informative review...I feel as if this fragrance is sorely misunderstood these days, either touted as a 'beast', lamented by those who feel it ought to be beastlier in its current iteration, or written off as 'old' or 'cheap.' Like you, I have come to it a little late in my experience of fragrances, and like you I think it is absolutely wonderful -- rich, deep and beautifully constructed. Thank you again for so graciously sharing the pleasure you take in fragrance.
Excellent review! The only Aramis I’ve ever tried was “Devon “ and I really liked it. Thank you Lanier for the wonderful presentation. I’m really looking forward to hearing from you again soon. Take good care of yourself my friend.
Soon is right now! Just uploaded a new review Mike. Hope you like it.... Oh Devon...I want to try that one out. So far all the fragrances I've tried from the Aramis line have been exceptional. Cheers.
So glad you reviewed Aramis, today’s youngsters don’t know what they’re missing!! Lol. It is heavenly. I still have my teddy bear soap tucked away in a drawer! They used to do a body spray in a gorgeous frosted glass bottle which lasted for days!!
Hello Lanier! You get me every time with these musical intros. Shivers crawling, again! 😘 Ahhhh, Aramis🎶 I still have delicious drops left in an old bullet style bottle from the 90's. That one is connected as a grand scent memory eventhough I was not the one wearing it. I was the one snuggling & smooching the wearer. Scent Memory indeed, plus I hijacked the remaining bottle 😂 I would like to add a fresh one to my dinky collection in the near future. It is a winner!! Kudos on the walk-in & Xxx's to you both 🐾🐾 #Imout 🌼 most of the time ;))
I love Aramis, it brings back so many memories. This came out in the mid-1960s right? I am lucky to have a bottle from the mid 70s. I have even sprayed it in the console carpeting of my '66 Mustang for an even more retro experience when driving that car.
Excellent review my friend. I've a haul coming up too. Included is D&G Light Blue and I was as pleasantly suprised as you were to discover the velvety covering on the box! Cheers!
Oh wow, such a funny coincidence that you just uploaded it. I ran out of this frag a couple of years ago, and I just ordered another bottle this morning since I missed it so much.
An old favourite for my father, watching this is bringing back so many memories that I must go and get my nose on it once again. One edition I have tried lately is the new aramis modern leather, now it doesn't get a lot of love around these parts but you know what? It's not all that bad.
I've turned my best friend into a fraghead over the past few years and Aramis is his favorite so far. I haven't tried it in some 20 years. It was obviously too mature for me back then. I'm rteally looking forward to trying it again for myself now! Thanks Lanier!
Great review my friend - I love Aramis (and Cabochard!) I had a vintage D&G PH too but sold it off for some reason - was tempted to buy it again but I've bought a vintage "Herrera for Men" which seems quite similar to the D&G
Looking really handsome, Lanier! 👌 I can't believe that's your closet! That's like a 2 bedroom loft in Philadelphia!😉😂 Great video and review, brother!👍👍
Thank you Mr. Sillage. It is heaven in my closet and I find it hard to come out of it once I am dressed. It is in fact the smallest walk-in in my development. But it is just right for me.
Lanier Smith excess isn't always necessary!I wish I had a walk in closet. I have 2 double door closers though that are staying to get filled. I need more space🤣😂
I got gifted a bottle of Aramis around 2009. At the time I really hated it; in fact I gave it to my brother who hated it who then gave it to my other brother who also hated it and ended up giving it away at work. But, my tastes have changed so much over the years that maybe I should revisit this scent. Great video as always. Loving the scent room :)
Great review and THANK U for confirming it can be men’s or women’s It’s a long story but you’ve just helped me heaps as I got it and thought I wasted money as saw photo on desk of 1960s vogue pioneer business women it was 1960s photo she inspired me so I went to try the fragrance I like.it brought it and then. The. Other reviews say it’s men’s so thank u I love it and she like myself have masculine feminine style love your review thanks
I love your reviews and just watched thie after your great review of Tuscany. Yes, Aramis is a masterpiece. Do you mind if I ask you what piece of music you have playing after your intro?
I can't wait to watch your 2 dinner videos. Put aside a bottle of richebourg for the occasion. Now all I need is an hour of free time to enjoy your vids. Hopefully, tomorrow.
Great review...when I got into fragrances I tried it in store and found it offputting...now I just recently bought a large 240 ml bottle since I got to really love it.
Lovely, fresh take on an American classic - Aramis. I think will bring back memories for many. Lanier, would you consider reviewing Maison Margiela Replica Music Festival? Discovered when sniffing around Sephora, I was able to get a couple of decent samples. I’m thinking of buying in the upcoming VIB sale. Would love to have your take on it. I’m inspired to request this based on your recent IG post circa 1971. Gracie says ‘Hi, Lanier!” Cheers!
I am another one with Closet Envy! (And how is that for an unintentional double entendre! LOL! Hahahahaaaa!) I used to love Aramis years ago, but I fell out of the habit of wearing it. Some time ago, I acquired a new bottle. It did not let me down. In the midst of a plague of reformulations, it seems to be much as I remembered it. Even if changes have been made (I cannot pick them, but you would know that far better than me) it is still magnificent. Thank you for the video and I hope you have a fabulous week.
So far the week has been pretty fabulous Daniel. Thank you so much for the good wishes... and for your wit and humor. you always bring a bit of sunny joy in your comments. Cheers.
I would love to see a review of Knize Ten plssss :D I've had an an interesting opportunity to smell and sample real gardenia enfleurage made with refined coconut oil. The hyper sweet headiness of the oil made me nauseous. This may come across as heresy to some but I prefer the synthetic recreation in perfumes (at least for now).
Hummm I thought I did a review of Knize Ten... maybe only mentioned it in my "Have I got a leather for you" video. I will investigate and work on that for you Gun. Not heresy in my book. I am find with most synthetics. For me it is all about the end result. Cheers.
Thank you SO MUCH for finally reviewing Aramis. This was my signature scent for YEARS. Unfortunately, I stopped wearing it because it seemed to lose its potency. I have taken a ~ 5-year break from wearing it, and JUST the other day, purchased a bottle from Amazon. In fact, it is supposed to arrive today. (I am hoping it is authentic Aramis, but one never knows for certain when ordering from Amazon.) In addition to your review, I would be VERY INTERESTED to know how the scent lasts for you. My unfortunate experience (which is why I stopped wearing it), is that it only seemed to last maybe an hour on my skin. I don't know if I simply got so used to the scent that it disappeared, or if it really has simply lost its lasting power.
I'll be polite and avoid the closet departure cracks ;-) Oooh, Aramis As Readers Digest queried, "Have you an amusing anecdote?" "Why yes! Yes I do!!" My ex assigned a nickname to Aramis, calling it "Fairy Juice." He also used to quip that because of its overuse among the club culture gents, it caused his bowels to open when he smelled it. For obvious reasons, I never tested the theory, but it did play out on a club outing one night. While he was indisposed, I walked to the fellow in the silk shirt and said "You smell great--what are you wearing?" Yeah.... If there was any proof required of the power of scent memory, that was it! At any rate, I loved your description, and I think I might need to revisit this old man of the last century. I'm anxiously awaiting your Must de Cartier review. Somehow I missed the male version. I think the ladies formulation is still kicking around, though it's been a while since I've smelled it. It's a brilliant house, and Pasha, Eau de Cartier, and Declaration get worn a lot! XOXO
*HOLY COW!!! SHALIMAR BATH GEL!!! Wow..... WANT! Dear God, please, let money rain on me.... I've still didn't manage to film my vintage Shalimars video, about the ones I've inherited... Finally someone speaks about Cabochard and Bernard Chant too. I feel like I'm always the only one since I have mentioned him and Cabochard in my latest video and many other ones. Aramis 900, the first one from my 'sexy for men' list, has the vibe of Cabochard too, like many from Bernard Chant. Cinnabar too... gives me somehow a similar vibe even though it's a different composition with different notes. Special Chant-DNA. :) Great walk-in closet... Since Sex And The City, every woman wants to have one... me included :)*
Sex In the City ...love it. I won't tell you which character I relate to... well...hint. "Hello 911? I'm on fire." I will most surely check your your video on sexy for men list. Yes Cabochard, Cinnabar and Aramis are Chant-tastic. Cheers luv.
I love your music Lanier. I hope to listen more classic movies theme intro in your videos. May I also request for you to review Red for Men by Giorgio Beverly Hills. It was one of my favorite frag to wear during the early 90's, Great review on Aramis. I currently owned an old carded sample and I have to look for it somewhere in my dresser. I love the current formulation of Havana but was dismayed with the current Devin. It smelled very different from my memory of Devin back in the late 70's when my uncle used to own it and me as a kid, stealing some sprays when he is not around. I love your content, presentation, format and reviews. Cheers from Canada. Your scent buddy, redpula @ rantica...
Have either of you tried Aramis Devin? I tried it the other day and it's very interesting. I mainly get a musky jasmine note with perhaps a touch of citrus up top. It's vaguely similar to Habit Rouge Sport with the jasmine not but quite a bit dirtier. Maybe a cross between kouros and habit rouge sport, if that makes sense at all.
How's the longevity on aramis?? It's it long lasting and do people feel the cologne on you after 3 or 4 hours???? I'm willing to buy it but some say it's does not have staying power or it's too weak
Quite the contrary! This is what many would describe as a POWER fragrance. It projects well...lasts long, and after the dry down, it SHINES for longer (or as long) as a/thing out there IMO. ...I've been wearing it for probably 40+ years.
I always look forward to your reviews. You are in YOUR closet? blahahahahha Too funny. So, your party was good and they liked your new place and everything is good? Can you do a review of Hos #1 if I send you some? Let me know! You are looking well!
I've never been w/o this since back in the late 70s or early 80s! Ha...I don't know why people designate and confine a fragrance to certain seasons...I've worn this ALL YEAR ROUND!
Don't underestimate this cologne I wore this last fall once it settled with your skin it radiate the heat skin and aramis together it lingers in the air I got a few compliments from female strangers. One rule trick once you stray a few let it settled before you head the door.
I consulted the auguries at the temple of Jupiter and they say there is a walk-in-closet in your future. The Romans never lie when it comes to reading bird signs. And.... as for being a diva...I am give online classes in the fall. Big HUG my beautiful buddy.
Really ? An original D&G way to rub it in Lanier 😣 haha ... Aramis makes me feel like a Clydesdale when I wear it... Another elegant review Lanier Have a great day
Oh dear, I hope I am not the last! But in any case what a wonderful complement. Like saying Elizabeth Taylor was the Last Star. I'll take it! LOL Cheers to you Thomas.
I love Aramis. I'm in my mid 30's. My wife does not like it, though. She says it smells like "old man." To me it smells like "real man." I still wear it. I just don't wear it on date nights. I wear something she likes for that.
I wish i could like the original Dolce/Gabbana pour homme.......to me there was a note of mimosa or it smelled like it to me.. and i couldnt tolerate it.............i gave it away a million yrs ago...just didnt workfor me........go figure..lol.......Original Aramis...not a winner to me as everyone was wearing it and not only that but it was super sharp and overwhelming IMO...also not a patchouli fan..so there ya go...
Very nostalgic for me. Aramis was my college scent back in the early 1970s. I need to reintroduce this scent to my life. Thanks for reigniting some younger day memories.
You are welcome Allen. So happy to have taken you down a path of memories. Cheers.
I feel like i just watched a history movie and traveled back in time !! Excellent review!
Yes it does get a few complements...I have noticed that. LOL. Cheers Catherine.
Thanks for the video Lanier! Always classy and refined!
So kind you are Edward, thank you. Cheers.
Mark thank you so much. Cheers.
Doris you story and memories made me smile. thank you so much! Cheers.
Great review! You sir just got yourself a new subscriber. Keep up the good work! Cheers from Sweden!
Cheers Luv.
Great review! I also love the sleekness of your closet; no fuss or frill. I may have to borrow the hanging umbrella idea.
Just a gold nail in the wall and Voila! ...two hanging umbrellas. Cheers
Lanier, as always profess

Cheers.
I love your closet! Great review as always 🥂xx
Big Hug to you HoneyBeeBee!
Jon... quite simply I like your style.
Bravo!
John you made my day! Thank you. Cheers!
Great review on Aramis. Congrats on the pickups Must and D&G are stunning fragrances! Look forward to your take on those...
Max you are the Best! Thanks for watching. My Must review is up. What an interesting journey that one is. Cheers.
Thanks Pine! Oh now you have me searching for that body spray. Cheers.
Lanier Smith I found it on eBay, it’s a deo spray, at $29. 98!! 😀
Woo Hoo! Here I go!
Lanier Smith lol..take it easy!!
Hello Lanier! You get me every time with these musical intros. Shivers crawling, again! 😘
Ahhhh, Aramis🎶 I still have delicious drops left in an old bullet style bottle from the 90's.
Kudos on the walk-in & Xxx's to you both 🐾🐾
#Imout 🌼 most of the time ;))
Clista you have a way with words... and you are fabulous. Cheers.
Thanks for posting this Lanier and giving your opinions. I recently bought this and love it.
Isn't it wonderful? Cheers.
I love Aramis, it brings back so many memories. This came out in the mid-1960s right? I am lucky to have a bottle from the mid 70s. I have even sprayed it in the console carpeting of my '66 Mustang for an even more retro experience when driving that car.

Oh Light Blue has that velvet touch too? How cool is that? I can't wait to see your haul. Cheers Mister Marvelous.
Oh wow, such a funny coincidence that you just uploaded it. I ran out of this frag a couple of years ago, and I just ordered another bottle this morning since I missed it so much.
Serendipity strikes! Bravo Jer
I had no idea that these scents were so complex. Very cool Thanks.
Beautiful review!
Thank you and cheers Tanja!
An old favourite for my father, watching this is bringing back so many memories that I must go and get my nose on it once again. One edition I have tried lately is the new aramis modern leather, now it doesn't get a lot of love around these parts but you know what? It's not all that bad.

Kieron Rowe you are so very welcome! Cheers
Love your music. And Aramis of course.
Great review! Lanier, have you tried the new Cartier Declaration Parfum? I will highly recommend it.
Great review my friend - I love Aramis (and Cabochard!) I had a vintage D&G PH too but sold it off for some reason - was tempted to buy it again but I've bought a vintage "Herrera for Men" which seems quite similar to the D&G
Oh a vintage Herrera for Men... I am so tempted myself to go for that one. Cheers Steven.
Looking really handsome, Lanier! 👌
I can't believe that's your closet! That's like a 2 bedroom loft in Philadelphia!😉😂
Great video and review, brother!👍👍
Thank you Mr. Sillage. It is heaven in my closet and I find it hard to come out of it once I am dressed. It is in fact the smallest walk-in in my development. But it is just right for me.
Lanier Smith excess isn't always necessary!I wish I had a walk in closet. I have 2 double door closers though that are staying to get filled. I need more space🤣😂
I can feel your pain... believe me. I certainly can.
I got gifted a bottle of Aramis around 2009. But, my tastes have changed so much over the years that maybe I should revisit this scent. Great video as always. Loving the scent room :)
I would test it out at first edgey... I would hate that you hated it all over again and payed for it as well. Do let me know how it turns out. Cheers.
Am a new subscriber, and I enjoyed your review, thanks!
Ciao Bello and welcome! So happy to have you along. Cheers.
You live with great style Mr. Smith.
Thank you so much... I leaned it all at the movies. Cheers.

I haven't smelled Aramis in decades. I need to revisit it. I owned Aramis as a teenager.
I would be curious James to hear what you think after all these years. Cheers.
I agree! Cheers.
@@ROCKGRINDER12 absolutely !
Outstanding review Sir!
Ciao Georgio! Thank you so much. Salute!
You bet Lanier!
That is a great walk-in! And I love Aramis.
Love is what it is all about Tal! Cheers.
Great review...when I got into fragrances I tried it in store and found it offputting...now I just recently bought a large 240 ml bottle since I got to really love it.
Hi Ron. Funny how that sometimes happens... ether a fragrance grows on us or our nose changes. Thanks for the nice comment. Cheers.
Lovely, fresh take on an American classic - Aramis. I think will bring back memories for many.
Lanier, would you consider reviewing Maison Margiela Replica Music Festival? Discovered when sniffing around Sephora, I was able to get a couple of decent samples. Thanks Ani! Hummmm... I will pop into my local Sephora and see if I can get a sample of Music Festival. Cheers. and ...Hi Gracie!
That is some haul Lanier. The Terre d'hermes bath gel 😍😍
I found the Terred'hermes bath gel on Amazon... check it out. Cheers my friend.

One of my favorites of all time, swoonworthy since the early 1970s!
Now that is a description that I would have used it only I had thought of it. Cheers.
I would love to see a review of Knize Ten plssss :D
I've had an an interesting opportunity to smell and sample real gardenia enfleurage made with refined coconut oil. The hyper sweet headiness of the oil made me nauseous. This may come across as heresy to some but I prefer the synthetic recreation in perfumes (at least for now).

I must get this one. It’s one I’ve always thought about buying.
It is my favorite leather fragrance! Cheers Mark!
have you tried aramis black? I can't find much about it... wondering if that should be my next blind buy
(I am hoping it is authentic Aramis, but one never knows for certain when ordering from Amazon.)
In addition to your review, I would be VERY INTERESTED to know how the scent lasts for you. My unfortunate experience (which is why I stopped wearing it), is that it only seemed to last maybe an hour on my skin. I don't know if I simply got so used to the scent that it disappeared, or if it really has simply lost its lasting power.
Hi Roderick, Thanks so much for your wonderful comment. My bottle lasts about 8 hours on my skin. Cheers.
It doesn't smell like it did years ago...something has changed
@@jamesedinger4956 It's the oakmoss. The reduction of it rather. Or fakifying or something.
Is there any summer Aramis colognes that's still widely available and good projection and longevity.
I'll be polite and avoid the closet departure cracks ;-) Oooh, Aramis As Readers Digest queried, "Have you an amusing anecdote?" "Why yes! Yes I do!!"
My ex assigned a nickname to Aramis, calling it "Fairy Juice." He also used to quip that because of its overuse among the club culture gents, it caused his bowels to open when he smelled it.
XOXO
What a magnificent tale of Aramis and nights draped in silk and drenched in disco lights. Cheers.
My all time favorite cologne...
"Hello 911? I'm on fire."
I will most surely check your your video on sexy for men list. Yes Cabochard, Cinnabar and Aramis are Chant-tastic. Cheers luv.
Classic review
Aramis fragrance is a hero survived all those years. Is the last man standing and everyone loves the last man standing
❤ YES! Awesome!
Classic fragrance
Sweet closet! A lot of bang for the buck with Aramis!
deckard97th thanks Deckard!! Cheers
ARAMIS IS THE KING OF MEN'S Cologne! IT NEVER DIES JUST MULTIPLIES!
LOL well put Ronnie. Cheers.
Aramis and Cabochard are very similar for me too 😊
Fantastic review. I got this one recently and agree it is a beauty.
Great Mr.Smelly...should we all be looking forward to a review? Cheers.
Yes I will certainly review it soon. Great that you’ve got the vintage D&G Pout Homme. Please give us a full review of that soon!
No I have not but boy is sounds good from your description. Cheers.
Thank you so much M.S.!
My late father use to wear Aramis. I need to purchase a bottle for nostalgic sake.
I would love to watch your thoughts on Tom Ford For Men Extreme. I'm going to try aramis, I'm tired of ignoring it
Do it! Do It!
I'm jealous of your closet. Why can't I be a diva? :( I remember this fragrance having a mature feel to it.
I consulted the auguries at the temple of Jupiter and they say there is a walk-in-closet in your future. The Romans never lie when it comes to reading bird signs. And.... as for being a diva...I am give online classes in the fall. Big HUG my beautiful buddy.
Sign me up for the diva classes.
You are first on the list my friend. Three snaps up and you go gurl!
Tuition better be free because I'm getting married and this bitch is broke after that :(
Ever so stylish Mr. Smith ! The latest version is not so good...But you have also the vintage Dolce&Gbabana, ohhh so jalous :-(
Can't wait to do a full review on the D&G ... thank you Dirk for your kind comment. Cheers.
Really ? An original D&G way to rub it in Lanier 😣 haha ... Aramis makes me feel like a Clydesdale when I wear it... Another elegant review Lanier Have a great day
LOL Lucca .. thank you. I hope you have a great day too. Cheers
My aramis bottle doesn’t last more than 2-3 hours :(
(Or maybe I go noseblind?)
Maybe you do go nose blind. I do, but I'm told its still stinking up the room hours and hours later. Cheers.
...you are the last connoisseur...
Leather scents can be a challenge for some. So in your case it's an all by myself treat. Cheers Fred Henry.
This one had to grow on me 5 years ago I hated it , now I love it 😂
Isn't it funny how that happens. I have been down that road with a few fragrances myself. Cheers. Matt.
Lanier Smith yes it is indeed! , cheers 🥂
Aramis tobacco is the best
I'd love to wear Aramis if it were a bit cooler in my country.
I wear Aramis 12 months out of the year, and it can get sweltering HOT here in SC! lol
Yep there you go Robert... and I think that is fabulous and so are you. Big Cheers!
The word climate has been changed that’s why human smell power or also changed please depend a new perfumes with the new claimant
Aramis a “grandpa” cologne in my opinion.
