A request for Anon who wanted to see Hello Aibo and Dogs Life in action. So here are my two ERS-210s, SilvAIBO (answers to Silvolf) and Razz. My camera decided to quit after about 18 or so minutes so there is a hiccup in the middle.
Razz does a couple of neat songs in this video.

the color red travels the farthest on the light spectrum so its real easy for light sensors to pick up, we are also real intune to the colour red, which is why we use it in things that need to be noticed quickly, like stop signs and traffic lights.

I'd like to get one of these dudes sometime soon, can you give any recommendations on where to look/ what to look for?
I recommend eBay. Always go for Aibos withat show actual photos of the robot being sold; not stock images. Some sellers like to con people with Aibos by showing a stock photo and trying to sell what they don't have. Go for one that has been DHS (droopy head syndrome) tested or you will get a dog that has neck/head problems. The newer ERS-210a supercores were made with better neck mechanics. There is a forum that sells Aibos too; Aibo-Life Bot House forums. It's a great forum for Aibo chat, to learn more and buy from other Aibo owners who know what they are selling. I bought SilvAIBO from one of these sellers. I recommend getting one that comes with a fresh battery pack and a charger at least. The pink ball is optional and useful but they can be bought separately. An instruction manual is useful as well but there are places online you can find and print the manuals. Hope this helps!

They listen sometimes lol! They're pretty smart though and can see in colour and know a lot of commands.
here is a interesting aibo secret: if you put an ERS-311 program into an aibo ERS-210/201A supercore, the aibo will still start up the way it does for 210 software where the aibo tilts its head left and right and the tail follows the head flashing red and blue and the startup song is different (of course lol) except on most 311 softwares the eye lights will always be flashing to indicate the aibo's mood like the horn on the 311 does on that program and also the tail won't move or light up on the software because the 311 doesn't have a moving or light up tail and on the 210 running the 311 software, the feature of moving the tail joystick is disabled because the tail can't sense when someone moves it as far as i know

@@Silvolf They way SilvAIBO hoovers around the ball instead of just kicking it, reminds me of some hyper real-life dogs. In general, I am quite surprised how many of both ERS-210s' behaviors were almost life-like.

my most favorite ERS-7 aibone trick is when he centers the aibone in his mouth and then he pushes it up so it is over his nose and then he opens his mouth more and then he drops it back into its mouth

So they are both Aibos. What are these other things? Programs? How do you program Aibos? I'm thinking of getting one of the older ones like this, but I haven't a clue.
They have personalities written onto memory sticks that you put in them. They don't do much without them.

Both. The charger has to be set up in a way they can see it and that's not so easy with the older models since it involves making it look a certain way using colours they associate with going to a charger.
also i noticed in your furby connects vs. aibos video near the end of the video silvaibo started to make a ding sound like she sees a ball and doing random actions and between actions she makes the ding noise. i believe this means she was in a certain mode

I got my first Aibo in 2006. I saved a long time for it. I never thought I would have enough money for one either but I did and ended up with three!

Absolutely fascinating to watch these two just mess around! I've always liked the AIBO, but never had enough room or money to get one xD Very impressed with the little orchestral segment that Razz performed!
I see that they can recognise you somewhat and the ball, but can they recognise each other? Are they able to communicate in any way?
Yes they can communicate but it depends what program they are running. AiboLife 2 (Salvo has this) and Hello Aibo (SilvAIBO's program) will talk to each other. You just have to tell them "Talk to your friend" and they will have a conversation. They will ask each other their names (they can say whatever name you give them. They say it in their own beep language) and also ask the name of the owners too (my name) and they say their owner makes them happy. They talk about various things all in their own language. They can recognize that they are with another Aibo because of the noises the Aibo makes.
Ahh, I see! Not just a thing that happens like the Furbies do, then :) I take it that Razz and SilvAIBO can't communicate then? Since Razz uses Dog's Life?
I showed my mother this video and she thought they were both awesome and funny to watch ^^ She likes SilvAIBO's patterns and Razz's color :)

actually, i think the aibo ERS-311's tail works the same way as a 210's back sensor (except on the japanese kawaii (it means cute in japanese) software, if the aibo asks you to move it, the head will move in the direction you move it)

Where did you buy your AIBO? How much did you pay for it?
Did your come with a charging dock?
I bought two of them from eBay and the other from Japan. One of them came with a charging cable. The charging dock I have was a Christmas gift from a friend and has proved very useful.
How much were they on EBay?
Have seen some on EBay, the ones I have seen so fare are from Japan
I would like to get one, with a "Dogs Life" except I may not be able to download the software because I have a Apple Computer. I have seen the link to "Dogs life" and it's a Zip File, I don't think my computer can download that file?
They were about $300. Your computer can download that file but I'm not sure how you would be able to write it onto the memory stick for the Aibo. You need a Sony brand stick reader.

that sells AIBO dogs and they also sell them on EBay as well they are asking from 800.-600. the lowest price is 400. The 400. Ones just sell the dogs alone. The highest price is 999.

The download software is a zip file and like I said I don't think I would be able to download it? Because of my apple computer.

Hello~ I was actually looking to buy one of these, but the only place I can see them being sold is on Ebay from a seller named nippondeals.
Been reading through the comments that you got yours from Ebay but you stated to stay away from ones using stock images, which is definitely what nippondeals seems to be doing?
But I am not seeing them being sold anywhere else... >~< Granted it's now been like 14 years since they were being made so finding any now is going to be a nightmare I figured.. but you seemed to have a lot of info on them.. so just wanted to ask otherwise I suppose I hit a dead end on getting on since I don't know if that Ebay seller is trustworthy.

Buying from Nippondeals is fine. I've bought from their website before. I got Razz from them as well as a spare battery for her as well. She came swiftly and well packed. It's always hard to know what sellers are trustworthy though because even those with 100% positive feedback can be scammers. Its the sad way of the world. However, buying off eBay means that you are protected and the buyer has far more protection than the seller.

The only other Aibo programs I have are Aibo Life 2 where you raise it from a puppy, Aibo Dancer, where it dances to any song with a good beat and Aibo Explorer which doesn't do much unless you have the software that goes with it.

last week when i was at my mom's house i drew a picture of loo bay and kevin riding salvo like a horse and loo bay was sitting behind kevin so he can control salvo by using his tail to pull or push salvo's tail and kevin was talking to loo bay about when he was in his egg

I have spoken with in the past maybe last year or last Spring? Regarding your AIBO. Now I have Recently gotten my AIBO. I was wondering if you could Help me a little with My AIBO. I'm try to get My Aibo to Recognize me and my Face and my Voice, having trouble with this. If you could if possible send me your email or a Facebook message I can explain the troubles I'm having. I go to a download site with manuals and instructions. I don't have a PC WINDOWS computer but a Mac Computer so I can't use any of the 3 memory sticks on my computer
I have Dogs life, Disco, and Recognition which I'm having trouble with, I'm also having trouble with Disco, I wait a long time for Disco to start up, it plays a little music at first then I wait a long time for AIBO to read the Disco Stick.

You need to do it in an area where there is really good light or Aibo can't see your face. It took me ages. I had to stand under the light in the bathroom with her to get her to see me lol!
Is razz a sapphire violet or a custom aibo?
Sadly she's custom. I bought her thinking she was sapphire violet.
Silvolf I really love the colors on Nippondeals customs. I recently bought a cheap Saphire violet on yahoo japan, but am not sure what condition it's in.
I'd love a sapphire violet but they are so hard to find. Nippondeals does do very good paint jobs though.
Silvolf I thought I would never get one either, but yahoo japan is always full of surprises.

SiameseWhiskas Oh ho ho, they do a lot. Depending on how you program them they do many tricks with pink toys, take pictures, know phrases, speak to you, recognize your face, they can have different moods, dances and more ! It's all how you want them to act. If you want something more real or entertaining I think a Pleo is a good pet aswell!! C:
