Yeah Brad’s drop on 17 wasn’t fair. We had a better look at it sure, but guess what, he had the EXACT same look, and a spotter/a few spectators who saw the whole dang thing. I'm surprised at Jeremy and Paul's comments for that play on 17 for Williams OB throw. I say this as someone who was a few feet away from where it landed. The spotter indicated (as did several spectators around him), that it never crossed, and since we had such a good angle on it, were going to show him the stake where it crossed a couple hundred feet further back. The way Williams responded, I think he knew it too. He was in a hurry to make the throw, tossed his marker down in bounds, mumbled about it being a "gray zone" and played it and got out of there. The spotter said nothing after that --said the players are allowed to make the call, not him, and sometimes don't even ask. Guess that's part of the sport. Way harder to save bogey from the spot where it crossed OB.

Unfortunately they can't do that. Right now the players only send the post production crews, typically Jomez only, the discs they threw off the tee. But that's optional, and not every player does that. It would be too much to ask players to send in dozens of disc information, and the commentary crew can't possibly know them all, nor the production crew prior to the voiceover. It's more than a time issue in post. It's a complex set of issues, and there's a number of reasons it's inconsistent, and only done for drives for some players. 🙂

@@liberateyourslack Thanks for telling me what I can't answer when you didn't understand my statement. Here is the answer to the question you asked, in relation to what I actually said. All those who received European jump the PDGA No. line get to use those much lower numbers in European events. (let Europeans screw Europeans) When playing in America they use a temporary PDGA number commiserate with the US PDGA numbers for that year/date they registered i.e. PDGA issued number range for 2005 (hypothetical) 27,000 to 28,000. Let's say Simon joined 06.30.2005 his USA-use temp. no. would be 27,500. You could narrow that no. down to a specific date and corresponding number, by looking at other players who legitimately received their PDGA numbers around that date, and you don't really have to get that fine tuned for card bumping tie purposes. Line jumpers like Simon would have 2 numbers, each specifically apply to where they are playing. Simon gets over promoted (Promotion = $$$) due to his *8k (McCray era) number, when it should be 25k or higher.

Hole 17 makes the case for not using OB lines unless they can positively be called by trained spotters. I am about 98% sure the disc didn't cross the line but that means I am 2% not sure. And I have this awesome video to watch, how sure can they be on the course without that video?
All this "cheating" talk about Williams is way out of line (Jerm maybe needs to apologize for indirectly calling Brad a cheater).
btw lol @ ever using the word of a spectator to mark your disc - that would be crazy. There is exactly one spectator that has a good look at it and he is like 30 feet away. Do you take a vote of the crowd?

From the footage here, it clearly did not cross. There is absolutely no way you can disagree with that.

I have NOTHING against Bradley, he was told by people standing there that his disc didn't cross, the spotter confirmed and where the disc was located he had plenty of indicators that suggested he should play his next shot from where it crossed
