We traversed the 18-mile Wildlife Loop in Custer State Park, entering via the Sylvan Lake entrance near the Needles Highway. The journey took us approximately 2 hours since we paused at various points of interest, including the informative Bison Center. Next, they visited the Observation Tower. Seiry was not fond of it due to the dirt road and its resemblance to the "Million Dollar Highway" in Colorado, which she adamantly avoids driving on. She was petrified! Yet, reaching the summit of the tower rewards you with breathtaking views, and on a clear day, the Badlands are visible in the distance. Finally, we drove along the Needles Highway, where we viewed the Cathedral Spires, previously seen from above during our helicopter tour, and passed through the narrowest tunnel, allowing just one car at a time. We concluded our journey at the Needles, a collection of eroded granite pillars, towers, and spires, among which stands the oldest 'needle with an eye,' estimated to be 2,000 years old. 🦬🐐🦃🫏

Thank you! So happy you enjoyed it my friend!! Means a lot to us!
I just subbed! When we were first married,we took a trip out there.then life ,work kids happened.now retired, he doesn't want to go anywhere, but our son does! So soon as I get some money saved ,we are going back! I remember a small camping area that we stayed at.the elk came thru and 1 stopped and rested against a tent! It was awesome! Also the 4 president's and the Indian being carved only minutes away
Yay! Thank you for subbing! Yes, you must revisit the Black hills. Other times we visited South Dakota, we didn't come here to the Black hills, but now it has our hearts. We stood at the Coolidge State Park and did some dispersed camping, but we also stayed at Rafter J campground near Mount Rushmore! We did visit Mount Rushmore but couldn't post it due to rules and regulations on National Parks videoing. Soon we will be able to post without getting a fine. Thanks again for subbing!! Means the world to us and hopefully, we can meet down the road!
@@RVenturesToday-bu6js loved the smell of those trees! And now I found a bottle of oil from those trees so I can sniff and remember! Think it's from Forest John

That's insane! How did they even build that?
It was created by nature. This igneous rock, forming underground from magma (liquid rock). It started to push upwards millions of years ago. Between wind, rain, freezing and thawing was the creation of this unique rock formation. Hope you enjoyed our video and pls consider subscribing to our channel. Thanks for watching!
