- Wildly recognised as one of the best and most intense coasters in the world, Dragon Khan opened at the same time as PortAventura theme park. This B&M (Bolliger & Mabillard) sit-down coaster has eight inversions, has a top speed of 65 mph (105 kph), a 161 ft (49 mtrs) drop and was designed by legendary imagineer John Wardley and German coaster company Werner Stengel. When Shambhala opened in 2012, Dragon Khan was repainted so it didn't look too tired next to Shambhala. This video was filmed after the repaint.

Still one of my favourite coasters. So smooth & intense.
Such a fantastic design.
I know, right
bootsamou flourless coaster are fun and amazing
I prefer Shambala or Furius Baco
i been going every year since i was born
Spochy u lucky I didn’t even try any b&m ride but a, excited to ride them :)
Can't believe it's actually getting old now, the last time I went on the Dragon Khan was in 1999! It still looks ace, though.
Not really. Shambhala dwarfs it in size but Dragon Khan is much more intense and reliable.
@@joanaguayoplanell4912 it does indeed. I went PortAventura back in 2001 when I was 9... unfortunately I couldn't ride it due to height restrictions which is understandable. I remember it being a beast at that time though, and still is in some ways
I've been to 50+ rollercoasters. This is my favourite one! Roude it above 20 times. And and it also has a poetic outlook.
Drakonic and erpentine Coily Energies and blesssings, same for me.
Underrated. Has been my favorite ride for a very long time and still is one of my favourites.

One of my favourite coasters, I love this ride, I greyed out during the first vertical loop when I first rode it. I wish B&M still made intense coasters like this.
They do
RobloxiCraft, Minecraft, Roblox, and more! :D I guess Black Mamba and Fury are pretty intense, but these day's B&M's focus has shifted to airtime filled gracious coasters such as Shambhala. Don't get me wrong though, I love B&M, it's my favourite manufacturer.

Shambhala is best, for sure
This was the first roller-coaster I ever rode, in 2019, and it began my love for them. Especially since I rode Shambhala afterwards!
Bro, same here!
We have to agree shambhala is one of the best coasters in europe
@@pablofernandezlopez5192 Hell yeah
@@pablofernandezlopez5192 I kinda found it boring
Did you ride red force?
good ride. it lasted longer than most rollercoasters
This ride lasts longer than me

The fact this coaster is from 1995! Imagine how it was back then. Its an amazing BM coaster
Two epic B&M coasters essentially interlocked together, soo sick.
I love that it ends with the cobra roll in front, it looks epic
This ride broke a world record because of the amount of loops and twists #truefact

Me and my friend kept on riding this over and over when we went. It’s so good.
The whole aesthetic of this coaster is just mouth-watering 🤤🤤🤤
I live in America and we’ve got six flags and a lot of other parks but portventura is definitely in my top 3. I’ve been to Spain 3 times and loved it.
bit rough now xx thanks so much for sharing - hope you have a lovely New Year x
I went on this 8 years ago and it blew me away ....such a good ride
I had a girlfriend like this... Once .....
Another awesome roller coaster ride! Thank for the post!
I waited over an hour to ride the dragon khan, but absolutely loved it!! Lasts longer than most rollercoasters I've been on and is so intense
One of our favourite coasters, if only we had a looper like this at one of the major UK parks.
Colossus at Thorpe Park has 10 loops. First in the world to have 10 loops when it was built.
Ever heard of Alton Towers?!
QPRdazza But Colossus isn`t that fast and high. I have been on both, several times, and Dragon Kahn is definately more intense and way faster.
Ok. Try Stealth if you want fast and high.
QPRdazza I know Stealth very well, it is an amazing coaster, but still has no inversions :-)
Haven't been on this since I was 11 and I'm now 27, been too long! :(
Same here man, haven’t been since 2004, all those big rides like Hurukan Condor and Shambhala weren’t there, and it was still a top theme park even back then. Loved the wooden coaster that had 2 carriages that raced each other I am sure?
@@dynamitecity9667 Yeah! That one is called “Stampida” and it’s really good. Sad fact: A man died in that roller coaster by the time it opened. Due to his death, the park improved the roller coaster facilities. However, I love “Stampida” but the only bad thing is that it moves a lot (As it’s made of wood) and that’s a bit disgusting.
As a kid, i went on this ride x32 times, yes, x32 times over x2 days with my dad haha. Was awesome. So so awesome.
I love how they put the boomerang right between the brake run at the end of the ride. Very cool.
this ride is amazing been on it 3 times!
3 TIMES, THAT WOULD SCARE THE LIFE OUT OF ME
well its not for everyone
Felix Mitchell SAME
George Duffort after the first time your geand
I know I’m like 4 years late but me and my friends went on this 4 times in a row lol. Almost puked
i went on this ride in real life the other day on a trip to barcelona and it took my breath away, the white one above it is so much fun also!!
Shambala
Went here on holiday many years ago as a teenager, we took my best mate with us. We just hung around the park all day, lost count of the amount of times we rode this roller-coaster. It was actually my first big roller-coaster, loved it.
We only did Furious Baco once, near the end of the trip. The lines were huge for that one and we didn't have any passes left to jump the line, or they didn't work for that ride, I can't remember. It was something like 15 years ago, after all.
There was some kind of big wooden one there too, can't remember the name but that thing would shake your teeth out.
The wooden one is called stampida
@@ikichan0920 Yes, thank you.
Such a smooth ride! Loved it.
I went to portaventura and I was so scared of this ride, but now I regret that I didn’t go on it because it looks so fun!
Such a fantastic coaster! Very intense and despite it's age very smooth too.
I swear this ride feels WAY HIGHER in real life
a have been on and its by far one of the scariest rides ive ever been on great holiday would go back in a heartbeat
Wow! Now that's a coaster! It shines red like a dragon! :D
Jeez this was the first ride I went on in port adventora I really loved it
I proud go in that rollercoaster in the first year of the Park, back in 1995. Five times in a row to Take a good picture.
That ride is insane!!! I love it want to go on!!
I went on this back in 2007. That was one wonderful summer.
I like the paint job and the coaster looks really fun :)

Awesome coaster. Lots of intense forces!

2nd time I went on this I was hands off
I 100% recommend it its sooo fun
I’m gonna be like 20 and still sticking with the kiddie rides, thank ya very much.
I have been on a countless number of coasters, but Dragon Kahn made me feel a litlle frigthened when I saw it..... and I was right, this is one of the most intese coasters in Europe I have been on.... and just ecxellent.... :-)
One of my all time favourite rides
What a cool sounding name for a rollercoaster 😊😊😊
Loved this ride so much it was so good
Wow this looks awesome
best ride ever and there was no lines went on twice in a row as a kid happy times
went on this yesterday evening, some great twists. best thing, 5mins queue time! it was at 2115, best time if you can make it.
Great ride but if ur on the shorter side, like me and my Mum, ur head bangs against the shoulder restraints which can leave a headache. Portaventura is 1 of the best theme parks I’ve been 2. Love it
Best roller coaster ever, been on it! :D
I love the colour combination of red and blue. Looks funny :-)
I queued for an hour and a half to get on it.. Bloody packed.
I went on this Wednesday, and I thought it was class, and I wanted to all the roller coasters again but the bad thing was the queue, and who ever is going to Port Aventura try and get the 79 euros for 3 days in2 parks deal for adults.
YOLO MOFO Agreed
this one looks like so much fun
That was so awesome
Back row on this is insane. Not for the faint of heart. But if you like intensity you’ll love it
I gotta say the ride is great and all but when I rode it the second time I didn't enjoy this as much. I did like it none the less but the part that made me a little bit *mad* was when we were on the second inversion. My head banged of the shoulder restraints and it HURT! The smoothest part of the ride was the corkscrews. And... also the chain lift. I haven't rode Shambhala yet. Should I ride it or not. I got too scared.
8 loops wow nice and smooth looks fun
Was so epic. Loved it what a thrill😀
I loved that ride so much when I went
Definitely my favourite ride at PortAventura! Even beats the Shambala for me ;)
The Realistic Life Of Scarlett thats Not possible. Sure DK is fun, but Shambhala has got the airtime
Kärnan Fanboy it is possible. It’s called an opinion.
The Realistic Life Of Scarlett
Splish Splash Your opinion is trash
Kärnan Fanboy again. In YOUR opinion :)
The Realistic Life Of Scarlett I used to agree but do find Khan to be a bit on the rough side now. An excellent coaster for its age though.
It's on my rollercoaster bucket list
This coaster looks so good with shambhala
I've been on Dragon Khan. Let me tell you something, that long lift is nerve-shredding stuff.
This was my first big roller coaster. I think I was 9 or 10 ish. I held my dad's hand really tightly because I had never experienced loops before but I loved it!
Mine too, I was 12 at that time and so fuckin scared😂
But me and my buddy challenged us to do it so we made it and realised that rollercoasters arent scary at all.
Oh I loved it there!!
Hello, or do you put the pro go to film?
the chest ? it does not affect the security ?
looks like a solid ride, I'ma ride it.
Shambhala. CF just uploaded the official POV by the park and you can find it on their channel.

This time next week ill be on this!
I went to portaventura when i was 8 and despite going to Flamingo land every other weekend I point blank refused to go on Dragon Khan. I guess child me saw the size difference to the UK coasters at the time and freaked out. Finally tried it at 25 and damn child me missed out big time!
+CoasterForce, I am going to PortAventura tomorrow night (cheaper at night) and I plan on going on Stampida, Dragon Khan and possibly Furius Baco if I'm mad enough (sorry but, Shambhala is not the hypercoaster I tend to start with) and I was wondering what would be the best possible advice you could give me before going on them. I love to ride roller coasters but, unfortunately, I've never had the greatest opportunities since I live in Ireland (been on Cú Chulainn), so I am a bit nervous to say the least.
+CoasterForce please reply
Okay, the dragon Khan was my first ever roller coaster but at first you'll probs be scared but it's funny and fun 😊
+M.Bulayima Sedeke Thanks! Stampida is woodie I can definitely do, since I've been on Cú Chulainn (look it up) and Dragon Khan I will try to go on afterwards since it's a looping coaster and I'm used to that shit. Furius Baco is what I want to go on, but I am quite unsure about it due to roughness and very high speed.
Sean Condren Kuipers I say go for it! Furious back looks amazing! When I went to PORTENVENTURA with my school and friends for 4 and a half days, on Wednesday we went to portaventura and the first ride that's my group was gonna go on was the furious baco but then we saw the line and we were like nope nope not today 😂
Did u go on shamballa? It's my favourite ride in the park
Wow!! I am so dizzy just watching it!
I went to PA last year, went on Shambhala but not Dragon Khan (I HATE the thought of going upside down, I'd feel sooo siiicckkkkk! D:)
But wow, it sure looks amazing! And violent! XD
