Hey there, I'm perfecttenth! Fantastic analysis, I was really hoping someone would make a video on this subject. It feels like a lot of people didn't dare question the suicide story out of respect, which I understand but is also really frustrating, so it's good to see that someone took a thorough look at both the game's contents and the situation that played out a couple days ago. And I'm happy to see that my discoveries were of use, sincere thanks for making this video :]
I feel bad for the creator. They always say that when making anything artistic, preparing for success is more important than preparing for failure, and this is why.
Seeing as how the Supersaiyan archive account out of nowhere demanded the game archive get deleted the same day you first posted about Hakuga, I'd expect the dev to find this video soon too, and I hope he ultimately takes your points well. I really enjoyed watching this video, it was actually a bit inspiring for my personal stuff. The game's visuals look good and I would play it if it didn't have that in-game dead soldier image. Datamining to find more real-life gore just THERE sounds horrendous, so I hope you're taking care of your health after that.
Great vid, does a great job at presenting Hakuga's story in an understandable way. Really enjoyed hearing your take on the games meaning/purpose. This game was a crazy rabbit hole to go down and I'm glad more ppl get to experience it now.
great video! really enjoyed that you gave your personal interpretation of the game, rather than just dismiss it as being merely aesthetic (even if it IS simply aesthetic, i still thought your interpretation was interesting). would love to see more analysis-type videos like this
Really the only criticism about the game I have is how they completely botched the implementation of an input box, causing around 5 maps or so to be completely unimplemented even though fully finished, thanks to the input box not having an event id like it's supposed to so it never pops up (and overall the computer is very poorly done). Otherwise it's probably one of my favorite art projects I've seen, the perfect amount of chaos and coherency combined in such a way where it's just an complete assault on the senses (in a positive way), though the usage of gore and real life tragedies is a little much for me, everything else about the project was really fun to find stuff about and follow closely. These sorts of, weird, unexplainable yet cohesive projects are some of my favorite things to find on the internet, and finding out about Hakuga was one of the best highlights a few months ago for me. And your explanation of a lot of things does check out upon a closer look into the history of the game and the files (which I dug deeply into first thing when the archive was found), same with your thoughts being very similar to mine about how the game actually is in terms of who the creator is and why they did things, on how the game is basically a failed attempt on making a creepypasta style mysterious game, which backfired when it got resurfaced and such. Overall, a really good video on an awesome project.
