Watching your videos are a big motivation for me to get through my schedule and get up and do something. I love how even if you have the stresses of being a new nurse you still show us that you can actually balance your social life and work life. Congratulations on the new job and I hope you get through your first year with ease!
hey Kai, i understand everything that you are feeling. Overtime, you will notice a pattern with certain population of patients/comorbidities. you will become more confident once you find that pattern because you will know what to present to your physician right away. Remember SBAR! listen to what the doctors are asking for and try to piece things together. Also, remember doctors are also learning as well. you are both learning together. Healthcare is a practice.
I’m also a male nurse in NYC and I could relate to you on so many levels. 4+ years in now I’m the happiest I’ve been in my career (I left bedside after 3 years lol). Never be afraid to speak out for yourself, and let your preceptor know that you feel more comfortable shadowing for example. Especially as a new grad you should be eased in and not rushed to take on your own patients. It should be at YOUR pace not their pace; in my experience I’ve seen new grads that have been afraid to speak out and be rushed through their training. Feel free to shoot me any questions, you got this!
Hey the goal is to be a male nurse tell me about the subjects you were studying here we study 6 subjects we give each subject 1 hour so 6 hours per day I'm a little confused
I am also a new grad RN, finished my orientation shifts and have been working independently now for about 7 shifts... I COMPLETELY feel you about the pre and post shift anxiety and feeling this way even on your days off. It happens to me everytime, and I think it will be like this for awhile. It really sucks and is a killer on the mental health, but remember that every new nurse goes through it... we just need to go through the process and consolidate our practice! Thank you for making me feel less alone as another fellow stressed out, anxious new grad nurse hehe
It’ll be okay!! Every new nurse has definitely felt what you’re currently feeling and going through. It’s a lot to take in as a new grad, you’re learning a lot of new stuff all at once. You’ll get faster at doing things and learn to better managed your time as well as your critical thinking skills.
I started work at a language school, my first week was also a bit anxious but I told myself that’s okay. We are trying our best and like you said, with our “own pace”. No need to put weight on our shoulders which we already have in some way. Have a nice day✌🏼
Hello Kai ✨ I'm so glad to see you every time more comfortable with your new life as a RN Nurse working in a hospital🙌👏 Thank you for sharing with us this new vlog. I'm a volunteer in a hospital now and also I'm learning a lot caring patients. Although is tired, at the end of the day that makes me happy. Thank you for inspiring me 🫶
@@Hwaniiee It's true, that's why my favorite part is when I walk them out of the hospital and say goodbye. It makes me happy to see them recovered, with the shine in their eyes, happy to return home.
best part to start my week! i always love getting new posts about your journey through nursing. i do love how your taking your mistakes as a way to grow and learn and not something that’s gonna tear you down. your doing amazing, keep it up!
When I found out that you want to be nurse… I felt so proud of you. I just retired as a Nurse Practitioner ( been one for the last 30 some years and an RN for 10 years prior). While you’re still young … do what you need to do to attain your goal. Always stay positive and learning is always asking when in doubt. Physicians and other health care professionals are all your colleagues. Safety is the key always. Watching you brought back memories when I was your age and as a novice nurse. I will be following your journey.
Also.. one thing I’ve learned 8 years in the medical field..don’t worry about making friends as a priority. You’re there to work and be a nurse, friends will come organically if it’s meant to happen when you just be yourself. But don’t go out of your way trying to impress or get people to like you!
Hey Kai ❤ Its another episode of your beautiful life Idk if it's just me or its really therapeutic and relaxing to hear you talk about your feelings and all those thoughts going through your head...As someone with anxiety it helps me a lot....it makes me feel like I'm not alone and many people are going through the same.... Today Im beginning my driving lessons.... currently its 3 .30 am and I have to there by 9 for my first class....and here's me nervous asf and cant sleep.... Trying new things scares the living butterflies Outta me... Watching you talk about your fears and reassuring yourself gives me an unexplainable amount of comfort and hope.... Thank you so much for the strength you give me... I could really see you were tired from all the work.... Remember to take care of yourself and don't burnout.... cuz at the end of the day its you that you have... Lots and lots and lots of love from India ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yes being comfortable around coworkers is the main reason for me to stay at a job or leave it And also having a smaller circle of friends means you have people who really care about you and you can rely on. I hope you have wonderful days at work, looking forward to the future when you're SUPER confident at work
I plan on becoming the MOST confident version of myself and as a nurse in the future!!’ I’m taking you along with me on this long but filling journey ❤❤
You need to get the nervousness in control. You have to find a way asap. When I started my job in finance I was like you and almost went into depression. Don't glorify worry, stress, anxiety...you are exhausting yourself without realizing 😢😢 stay handsome ❤❤
I didn’t start bedside because I knew mentally and physically I could not. I started in the OR and I love it. I have zero shift anxiety and enjoy my job.
I used to watch you since you were a student and now you're a nurse and you have a job that makes me feel like a proud mom 🥹😭 and I'm really proud of you just keep going 🩷
Wow. All the best in your career. I am a retired RN. Started as an LVN, then 2 yr RN, then BSN. Nursing is a very stressful and demanding occupation. It takes a lot of stamina just to make it through the training. Be kind to yourself, but also stay careful and cautious. The hardest part is surviving the first year after graduation and passing the NCLEX. God bless you and good luck. Take care of yourself.
Be confident. You have more knowledge than you think and you are better than you know. I am RN now ARNP now for 46 yrs. This time will pass. Take care of yourself good luck.
I had that pre-work/duty nervousness/anxiety for two months when i started working. It was my first job after graduating and i was soooo nervous, that i can feel myself getting sick in my stomach. But trust me, it gets better in time and you wont even notice the anxiety going away! Good luck and hope you adjust quickly! ❤❤❤
Kai, relax...u will be fine on the floor. Just keep an open mind for learning always. Be confident. Observed ur preceptor how they prioritize cases the moment u received report. In ur cheat/report notes u can see which patients have the highest risks during the previous shifts. Do your rounds/assessments per high risk ranking. Charting will follow. Just make ur notes so u wont forget what u did for them. It is better to over chart than under chart. In court if nothing is charted it meant nothing was done. So patient safety and yours as well. Just co-relate ur other stuff ex. labs, diagnostics, keen eye for S/S or changes in ur pts. etc...but u r right, take those moments as opportunity for learning. I can tell that u will be a good nurse one day. U have the heart n brain for it. Just be patient...good luck, Kai‼️💜🫶

Hi Kai, well done in your 1st week. 😊 you can do this!! 🎉we all have our own insecurities and weakness, i am in my final year of nursing, can’t wait to grad!!
Any new job will always b hard, until u have been there long enuff where it will b 2nd nature. U r right tho, u seem 2 b taking on more than u should. U will end up burning urself out. We sending u lot's of hugs 2 help u feel better! Have a wonderful day! 🙂🙂
Kai I know how u feel because when my mom is n the hospital I ask the doctors what meds they are giving my mom and make sure that they are using the right size needle on my mom. U got this Kai 😊 u r amazing and I know u can do this 😊 from your sis Mary. Keep up the great work you do 😊.
Kai, you're doing so well, remember to journal points at end of the day. Sleeping, I started taking magnesium from this brand "nutrition geeks" I tablet a day and I'm sleeping 7 straight hours. They are UK based but ship everywhere. Read bout them. Keep up the good work. Fighting
Fake it till you make it! I’m leading a crew this summer and on day 1 I had no idea wtf I was doing so I just pretended to lol. It’s been 2 weeks and I haven’t crashed and burned yet haha, I’m making it!
So impressed by your devotion to your job and your career also the importance you give to patient safety. It s normal to be more stressed for your first professional experience and in need for confirmation that everything ok. But sure you will have a sucess whatever you do 🙏thanks for your girlfriend for being in your side 👍❤❤sending you all the good vibes ans wishes
Thank you to you and my gf and to everyone here on this channel!’ Seriously you guys give me the space to share my vulnerabilities and insecurity which make life a little less lonelier so thank you ❤
Hi Kai, Nursing is exhausting because it involves so much tasks and checks but hang in there, it's a very fulfilling career. I just retired from 39 years of nursing and my first job as a nurse was at Mt. Sinai medical center NYC. Talk about hectic! I ran from the time I started til I got off. Lost 30 lbs in year without trying. What hospital are you at?
Aaahh.. The overwhelming phase of learning and remembering new tasks is common for newly grad nurses, but you will overcome it in time. Don’t get disappointed nor feel guilty about your progress rather PERSEVERE in your new journey. You got this, nurse Kai! 💪🙏🩵
yeassss!! The progress I’m making is all a learning journey!! And I’ll continue to keep learning because mindset is what’s so important in times like this!! 💕💕
Megatron wants to come say hi and tell you that you are doing great!!❤ just focus 1 step at a time. I get the opposite when I'm nervous I need an immodium!! You will do great don't over think it.❤ just double check stuff. When you are at lunch think of happy things try to not think of what you just did. School isn't real life I'm sure. Just give straight answers. How many patients are you in charge of in a day? Coworkers!!! You are making friends❤❤❤ do they know you are on social media. It does get smaller but you will have work friends too. Is charting easier for you?? When did she get camera shy. She is so beautiful 😍 you are great !! Keep showing us your progress ❤❤❤ 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
💜🥰 So, as someone who is also a VA along with my main job, self care is a must!!! Just remember, as someone on the frontline, keep taking that time you need with your boys and gf and taking a knee when you truly need it. You can't help others if you are not in good condition!!! Borahae!!! 🫂 You got this!!! Hwaiting!!! 💪🏽💜 I wish I could give you a big momma bear hug to let you know you are doing great despite what you see yourself...others see the effort and great job you are doing! 🫡
I know u can’t rlly compare what I do to what u do but I’m a teenager and I got my first job and I get the first shift anxiety and anxiousness and I see what u do and it’s way worse than what I have to go through and I’m scared because it’s like will I be able to handle the job I want in the future working 9-5 like it’s so scary
Hey Kai, try to eat lunch and dinner together with your co-workers. You can ask them exchange the phone number. Eat together and have fun at work. You can also buy a pizza eat with your co-workers together. It is fun. Share your concern and feeling about your job to your co-workers. Working in the hospital is very stressful. I understand. Everything is okay.
i recently became interested in nursing but do i need to be good at science in high school to study nursing? although the answer may be obvious.... love ur vlog btw !!
Oh my you are putting way too much pressure on yourself. EVERY JOB has a learning curve and your first two weeks of Nursing on a floor is just how everyone else goes through this!!! You are doing ok. Just give yourself time.
You have a bundle of big responsibilities, but you have the priorities, patient safety, well in hand. I appreciate your being extra careful. That is so commendable! Cohort get together: Hey, did you trade blood types with your co-workers, along with Zodiac signs? LOL. (Btw, you look fab in your Fabletics.) Yah, when you go out in the "real" world, opportunities to get to know people well are fewer. I don't know, it is harder to connect, but I am an introvert, so maybe it's just me. You have work associates, but they aren't really friends. Maybe if you work on cases with others, you'll grow closer to your team. Also, remember you are always being graded; you just don't get a report card anymore. Sigh... I hope I didn't heighten your stress level... Thanks for the wonderful vlog. You're doing great! Also, nice touch: flowers and a drink for your gf! So sweet. Sending you best wishes and chill vibes!
You overthink too much my man. When your learning anything new in life you have to be prepeard to look the fool. Experience cant be bought only gained. Sit back, Relax and just let it flow mate ;)

Thank you to you and my gf and to everyone here on this channel!’ Seriously you guys give me the space to share my vulnerabilities and insecurity which make life a little less lonelier so thank you ❤
CONGRATULATIONSSSSSS ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Me scared starting corporate at a big 4 bank this August. I feel sooo out of my depth. We got this!
Hi Kai,
Nursing is exhausting because it involves so much tasks and checks but hang in there, it's a very fulfilling career. I just retired from 39 years of nursing and my first job as a nurse was at Mt. Sinai medical center NYC. Talk about hectic! I ran from the time I started til I got off. Lost 30 lbs in year without trying. What hospital are you at?
Hang in there Kai, you got this 😊
Dude good work my first years as a nurse suck and I hated preshift anxiety 😢❤ much love hope you do a meetup someday!
@@Hwaniiee Hullo! Aww, i appreciate you dropping a comment despite of your busy schedule, thank you❣️
Have a restful night and
Happy Fourth!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️
You'll make friends at work, and probably go out with them socially. Your friends circle will definitely expand.
Congratulations and good luck to you❤❤
Megatron wants to come say hi and tell you that you are doing great!!❤ just focus 1 step at a time.
ARMYYYYYYY 💜

I know u can’t rlly compare what I do to what u do but I’m a teenager and I got my first job and I get the first shift anxiety and anxiousness and I see what u do and it’s way worse than what I have to go through and I’m scared because it’s like will I be able to handle the job I want in the future working 9-5 like it’s so scary
Kai, how many different creams do you apply to your face?
Do you leave them all, or do you remove some?
Hey Kai, try to eat lunch and dinner together with your co-workers. You can ask them exchange the phone number. Eat together and have fun at work. You can also buy a pizza eat with your co-workers together. It is fun. Share your concern and feeling about your job to your co-workers. Working in the hospital is very stressful. I understand. Everything is okay.
Yesss I can def set up more moments of interaction outside of work or on the floor!! ❤
i recently became interested in nursing but do i need to be good at science in high school to study nursing? although the answer may be obvious....

Congratulations and bro your hella fineeeeee whoever you marry is finna be hella luckyyyyy 🤞🤞❤ love you😍
You have a bundle of big responsibilities, but you have the priorities, patient safety, well in hand. So sweet. Sending you best wishes and chill vibes!
i'm related to every word you say
Merhaba Kai türkçe altyazılı seni anlamasamda severek izliyorum
