- This guide shows you all the strings/combos that are the best to use on scythe. Scythe has dozens of strings but they're not all good. In this video, I go over the best strings and combos that I personally use on scythe, the ones I think you need to know, the ones you must know to become really good. I hope the guide helps you improve your brawlhalla gameplay.

5:23 i recomend using slight first
I recommend not to use Slight at 70+ damage or else the best amount of frames you will get will be 6 frames.
This may be the only good tutorial out there from a beginners perspective like myself. Thank you for actually explaining everything

If you are considering using this guide know that alot of things are outdated like how sidelight into nlight is now jumpable an not really reliable and alot of true combos arent true anymore

Jump is nearly impossible but if you chase dodge up then nair then it’s very easy

I recommand to do SLight->NLight-> strong up attack if you play Jiro. I don’t know if it works with other scythe characters as well but wit Jiro it’s litterally OP
Try nlight- nair- sair- gc dlight with input- cd dair- groundpound it’s the most consistent 0- death combo I’ve used and works nearly every time
Mind if I ask, but what direction of CD is that?? And CD is Chase Dodge right? I am a beginner and I have learned it to the gc dlight but I could not continue further, please help
@@caseyn.chandra899 cd is chase dodge and wdym where? 😂 Chase dodge left or right depending where the opponent is (towards him tho) but he can dodge out of it. I suggest learning how to dodge read it will make you a lot better. My last video is a good exemple of reading. The reverse nair i did wouldn't have landed if he didn't dodge! Keep playing!

Sair can combo to gc dlight
And most people dont expect you to combo after sair (tho only on low dmg)

1. DAIR SLIGHT DLIGHT RECOVERY (Recovery when off edge (Second combo if they're right on the edge))
2. DAIR SLIGHT DLIGHT SLIGHT RECOVERY
(Both combos take to orange or further, or red if repeated, as this string can easily be repeated when they come back onto the stage)

I usually do
Nlight> Nair (backwards input)> Chase Dodge then Dair (backwards input)> Nlight> Nair (backwards input)> Chase dodge then Dair (backwards input)> Chase Dodge then Nlight> Read their dodge then Nair (backwards input)> Chase dodge then sair.
I like using this string cuz it flings ur enemy around, u gotta read their dodge tho to make this happen, it makes ur enemy orange so its useful. Its like a repeating string :)
Very helpful video even though i dont really like scythe. Its always good to know the strings your scythe playing opponents may try to do.
Sidelight into Nlight into a double nair plus recovery and air if the recover doesn't kill is super viable and very easy to input

Following up the 4:40 string with a recovery will result in a 0 to death for enemies from 3 - 4 defense (yes this combo also works with 3 def legends but is A LOT harder to do).
when i do the nair i cant do the slight but i cant do another nair bc the bot is high enough
Theres one long string that kills from 0 from the middle of the stage, ofc u can dodge out of it several times :
SLIGHT - NLIGHT - JUMP - NAIR - JUMP SAIR - NAIR - JUMP - NAIR - RECOVERY

I ussualy use (j) Dlight>Slight>Nlight>Sair>ChD>Dair>Dair/Nair/Rec(depends where the enemy go
Another simple string i use with scythe is SLight(press and hold directional button)follow with DLight and end with a light (if your opponent has wasted the dodge you can go for a cheeky GC Sig or DSig) this works on low health only because the Slight has variable force if you hold the side button, unlike just pressing it.
I've watch many tutorials and this actually helped me

Slight,nlight,sair,sair,sair,gc,then neutral heavy.This really only works if they’re out of dodge or if they’re bad but if all of them hit it’s a 0 to death combo.

at 4:40 when i do nair and slight i cant do another nair because the bot isnt high enough what should i do?
If you’re lucky you can mostly have a follow up for Dlight->sair by doing a dair and then just keep the momentum
at 2:07 u can increase the combo, but it become confuse if u dont know well the scythe atack hitboxes
*Dair+Slight+Dlight+Sair+Dair+Slight+Dlight (if nix +Nheavy)
my favourite scythe string: slight (n) + nlight + nair (b) + dlight (b) + sair

you move them in the middle THEN put the in reset position

@BriW 75 i have a pooing disorder, that was very offensive, it bleeds and hurts everytime and have had this for 2+ years now. and then for you to say no SHIT, and i actually can't do shit properly anymore i find this as a low blow
Down light, sair , dair, s light, n light, . If you start a string like this it might be the longest scythe string but.. it’s extremely easy to dodge out of it , and will only work on 0 dmg to half the roster . Also very easy to dodge out of , especially from sair to dair

Chase dodge diagonally to your opponent and simultaneously press light attack.
Nair into recovery om low damage can be useful if you strafe down and dairy then wait 10 frames and nair for a nice string with lots of follow up if the recovery throws the enemy to the ground and if they go off the map you can still get a nice jump read
I can do Slight Recovery is it impossible on ps4 because I keep jumping over the target or I hit them but it doesn’t register

I can’t get used to the controls on keyboard so I use a controller. Many people told me that scythe then is the worst possible weapon since u need a lot of Inputs, yet its the one that works out the best for me :D
I use this string
Nlight or Dlight, jump, Nair, Recovery, Dair and Sair or the strong attack down (i forgot the name o this move)

you forgot slight neutral input into nlight into nair backwards input into gravity cancel dlight neutral input into recovery into chase doge dair into the entire string all over again cause its an endless string until they are at red

I find Nair (N) --> (J) Sair --> (N) --> (J) Sair really hard. Are there any tips n tricks to help get it down? I feel like it´s mostly luck when I get it
I find long combos aren’t very reliable and shorter combos are easier if there’s a changing situation particularly with multiple people

I think i made a risky string to use, cuz most of the times its suicidal so you can use it if you are 2-1, plus it will only propperly work if both you and the enemy are close to the ledge, you being between him and the ledge, here it is:
(N) DLight - CD Rec - (N) DAir - (N) NAir - Rec
In maps like Small Brawlhaven this string provides a certain kill without suicide, but im not sure if it is viable (i still only tried it in training room, plus it has Dodge Windows, so reads could end up being needed), so could some experienced player try it out and tell me an opinion? I would apreciate it ^^
(After the DAir the enemy always seem to jump so the NAir connects most of the time).
I'm try7ng the Nair-Jump-Nairx2 combo, but I rarely do the 2nd jump. It's frustrating so I usually just follow up with either a GC+Heavy
I don't understand second combo,
After the Nlight it's too late to jump because while in motion I can't jump and the opponent is almost on the ground so I can't hook the opponent

idk if u still read this but for moves like Nlight recovery. After using Nlight it doesnt seem to allow me to use recovery right after
help im not able of doing "nlight into nair" when I jumpn the character is already out of range
until you get the timing down , try pressing the jump and light attack button at the same time. If you can get it to hit like that start pressing the light attack ever so slightly later.

No you can, just change the controller controls so when you press up you jump and look up as well
Alright, so started playing yesterday. No idea what the hell I'm doing. I have a few questions that would be much appreciated if someone could answer them.
1. Who should I main
2. How do I get better?
3. What should I focus on to get better right off the bat
your main would be the one with the stats and weapons you like to play with
Your main should be anyone your comfortable with.
To get better you should just play more at the beginning then just go to brawl league :|
And lastly you should just focus to not rage or you'll delete the darn game.
p.s. once you get better you have weird instincts and that is how you predict the person.
Don't spam sigs. Just try to play mainly with light attacks, figure out combos....and only use sigs to finish.

Joey Blackmouth not necessarily, you should use sigs when you know it will hit. That includes kill moves, and string Enders

(includes switch, ps4, xbox, and any type of player that uses controller to play)
Most of the strings and combos wont work or impossible to do in controller so i RECOMMEND practicing another weapon because you cant do shit with scythe in a controller

What's the difference between a true combo and a string?
The difference is whether you can dodge it after one of the hits connects. A true combo cannot be dodged; a string can be dodged.
A true combo doesn't have any dodge windows (Can't get dodged out of) and a string can get dodged out. But in a string you can read (predict where the enemy is gonna go) and continue the string :)

I loved this video but how i've been playing sythe for a long time I don't use those strings so much. I can use the zero to death combos. I only know what to do after each movement... I LOVED YOUR VIDEO, i'm sure that you helped many people...
I’m my opinion the combo is based on the character skills like volkov you can knock them back and then flip them then use his air skill this combo based on what I seen is 70% chance of it working so like other scythe characters have same combat skills but the combo you use based on what skills he or she has (this goes by all characters) leave a comment what your favorite combo is or favorite character (mine is yumiko and volkov) also depending on the damage the enemy has taken the better or worse the combo (some work 100% no matter what there damage meter is)
For some reason, I cannot perform the Nlight-jump-Nair. I cant jump right after Nlight, it allows me to jump way to late in order to catch the opponent in mid air. Even when I press "j", release, press "space". The game doesnt register the jump at all. Anybody has an idea why? Is it my keyboard or something?

It’s because you are not supposed to jump. You are supposed to chase dodge

In my opinion and as I play scythe these are nothing compared to plat scythe players out there I've seen better combos and more complicated to do and 10% players in the community knows them but still the best .
