I know man, I used to just press buttons strategically but after I used the training mode and learned some actual strings and combos, it's like a totally different game
some other basic combos dlight(not active), chase dash nair, the loop you can continue doing this twice after that it'll most likely miss. if they dodge it basically give you either stage control or time to plan your next attack side light(held) dlight side light(held), chase dash, nlight or reverse nlight dair, weapon throw dair(into wall), ground pound only use near red or orange tips for becoming a scythe boss 1. learning dodge reads go into training put the bot on a selective dodge you wanna learn to hit and find out how many ways you can hit that one dodge ex( delay attacks, chase dash, jump idk just do you 2 when you have some one in hit stun learn what action they usually take like do they always dodge ,jump, wake up, nothing at all lol . you can also apply this in neutral as well 3 dont give up

Before that i used to be a hardcore smash played(still am not as much tho) and i loved edge guarding and gimping and was rlly good at it so ik i have to learn scythe. Fast forward till now my scythe is pretty good i have 4 scythe characters each being lvl 15 and above and mirage lvl 20. Starting to try and main mordex cus i love gaunts as well and his versatility with his down sigs having the option to choose the direction u want to hit is such and advantage on top of the already versatile and active input heavy weapon scythe. Great tips bro I learned by going to traning and just duking out my combos in ranked and u start getting a feel for other ppls dodges and yea before u know it u will get better. I love scythe tops up to all scythe mains out there 🥳

one good way i get better at not just scythe but alll wepons is i watch your videos of you just playing. if there's a wepon i want to get good at ill watch you play as a legend with that wepon and I'll take mental notes of what you did and hop into training or experimental and try it out
i started playing like a week ago (i play fait) and i cant get the opponent high enough or i cant jump fast enough to hit my air neutral without using a signature (when using scythe)
Lucian! One string that a surprising amount of people can't doge out of, but it's a little risky, is this: slight (up), dair, Nair AI (active input), flight, CD dair, CD turnaround Nair AI, recovery.
An easier version of what lucians combo is, is sidelight forced neutral light nair side air nair recovery side air (zero to death ) it works nice and low dodge grams (:
Slight hold,Dlight, jump, Dair, when you touch the ground do a Nair and pull him back, Dlight, Nlight, jump,Nair, recovery, Dair, Sair. 0 to death in certain maps, does a lot of damage. Make sure to get back to the stage. 👍

I like your tutorial alot and for me as a scythe main and still learning to mastering it and I've spend alot of time in practice mode I'd like to add something : -In scythe the revers light attacks in air are so important and anyone can see it be done in your combos plus when i was training i tried reversing the neutral attacks especially and it was so slow after a dash or chase dodge but it wasn't for a normal jump and i used to think that i have to let go of my controls after switching sides to get the neutral air but i was so slow and then i learned that to reverse fast and easy the left analog stick should be held for top right or top left which will result in a much faster reverse neutral and even you can use it in sigs and other moves and wepon and it's so useful to learn this mechanic as it made me faster and playing and better and made ma manage countering read even more -In scythe when you wana do any combo and here specifically a combo that requires air attacks you should learn that holding down on the left analog stick will make you go down faster so you have to master the movement and i had this problem where i used to hold it down so you should time it right plus pressing an attack will cancel its effect or you can simply left go of your analog stick but this will break the flow of the combo OR hold your stick to the top of it Hopefully i could help anyone to learn easily these tips made me way good at scythe and when you learn these mechanics you can do any combo and even create some
And by the way here's a combo sting that i did all of a sudden and may like the reverse nligh combo that lucian does here but what differs that it will get all your jumps back and idk if it was created before i just like using it: Nligh - Nair - chase dodge bottow right to the stage - jump reverse Nair holding it back and then you can follow it up with whatever you like of the combos like chase dodge down light of whatever you want and i feel like this combo is good for catching your opponent's neutral dodge off guard in the air meanwhile you're ready to go with all of your jumps
I dont know why but even after like 2 hours training i cant even manage to do basic combo with scythe with neutral jump neutral air it doesnt do anything near like it did on vide even tho i hit both

Wrong. Scythe has the most POTENTIAL in the game. Its the hardest weapon to get good things out of. If you look at someone like sandstorm, thats scythe brought out to its finest. There are so many weapons that you can get to diamond with. Picking up scythe wont get you there on its own.
Well I'm a scythe main and I don't think it's the best weapon. It's good, but pretty easy to counter, especially if you aren't a god at it. People like sandstorm, they use the weapon to it's whole potential, but it doesn't mean you'll be able to do it. You shouldn't learn a weapon because "it's the best", you should learn a weapon because you feel like it or enjoy it. If you don't like reading dodges, jumps and offstage play, scythe won't suit you. It's is hard to master, but worth it if you know how to play it.

How can you get a bit that does not fight back in a private match? They always fight back when I try it. I know that there’s an easy, normal and hard version of the bots but... how do you get those boys purely to practise on?

Still haven’t figured out how to do consistently the “short” chase dodge, most of the time my artemis just goes miles away from the enemy
Maybe it's because your speed is too high, also when you chase dodge you can actually move 2 times ahead, just try to press forward once

You 1st wait they the are in a crawling position and while they are in that position you have to jump then swipe
