This is one style i leave to the pros to tackle - that's a lot of pumpkin prep! lol. And congratulations on winning the gold! I'll have to borrow your recipe for St Patty's Day next year. Great video, it's a beautiful-looking beer.
Haha, I’m glad I only have to brew this once a year. And thank you! The Irish Red has always been one of my favorite styles, I can’t wait to hear how it turns out for you.
Congrats on the gold medal and another great video! Prepping the pumpkins looks like some work but worth it. I’m not a huge pumpkin beer fan but would love to try this one. I was wondering if you would get pumpkin beer down in one shot:)
Thank you! I prefer adding real pumpkins over just pumpkin spices, but pumpkin beers are always iffy for me. Definitely one of the harder ones for me to get down in one shot!
Thanks for sharing this! So interesting that u roast the pumpkin and put it in the boil. I see people mostly mash with it to pull sugar from the starches in it. I brewed one 3 weeks ago and did pumpkin in the mash but I want to try it in the boil next time now! Cheers!
I kept going back and forth on when to add the pumpkins. In the end, I decided I was happy with the fermentable sugar profile from the grains and brown sugar, and I really wanted the caramelization from roasting the brown sugar onto the pumpkins. I would love to hear how yours turned out!
Thank you! I got an initial water analysis done by Ward Laboratories to get a baseline reading and make all adjustments in the free software Bru’n Water
Honestly just because that is what I was introduced to when I first started brewing! All of the water calculators should perform the same ppm calculations, so if you are more comfortable with the BeerSmith or Brewfather interfaces I would recommend using their products
Congrats on the gold! This one looks solid too!
Thank you!
Congrats on your gold medal!
Thank you very much!

Congrats on the GABF medal. What do you use to calculate your water profile? Thanks

@@thebeerjunkies1 why do use Bru’n water over the the water profiles in apps like Beersmith or Brewfather?
