Nice to see another Canadian boat cross golf stream to Bimini , I towed my boat all the way to FLL from Toronto, cross to Bimini July 2019 ! Unforgettable experience and memories !
I just love your story and videos.....I have a 47 Cockpit sundeck motor yacht like yours. You are living my dream, and I really appreciate what you are doing....Thank you and be safe
We like your channel. We have several kids so we can't go sailing plus my wife gets seasick. But we can watch you...yeah!! You guys look pretty successful with youtube also. If you have any tips for our channel we would love some input. Keep posting
Wow, awesome video. Only thing that sucks is that I didn’t come across this video and you guys a long time ago. Me, Gina my “better half” & many great friends of ours have made the crossed from Key Biscayne to Bimini the last 3 years in a row! Oh almost forget to mention by jetski 😉. We absolutely love Bimini, I don’t have to tell y’all how wonderful the people are on the Island. And after spending a week at a time there it wasn’t hard to see why they have so much to be grateful for. Can’t wait to check out some more of your videos. We both hope to travel more in the future. Keep up the great work Billy D
Yeah it sure is a blast, not much difference then y’all. Lots of planning , preparing and strategically packing. We had done this trip three times without a chase boat. Now we are planning to make the crossing to The Great Abaco’s area, this trip we will have a few friends with boats. Can’t wait 😊
Great video guys. I was wondering if you can are your path from fort Lauderdale to Bimini. I’ve been trying to figure it out for 2 weeks and I’ve had no luck. Or at least where can I look to get those coordinates or path. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Contact us through our website www.searchingforcshels.com. I'll send you our route if you still need it. Its really just a straight shot but aim a few miles south of Bimini to compensate for the gulf stream current.
Great videos. Going to move the boat from the West Coast to East Coast of FL this Winter. Crossing to Bimini was on the list. Very much appreciate the data. Did you head due South outside the stream for a bit (along the Coast) before crossing, or did you just head directly for Bimini from Ft. Lauderdale? Cheers!
Love your videos because its a motor yacht and not a sailboat. Very few GOOD motor yacht vlogs. How many knots did you do crossing ocean to Bimini and how many hours did it take? Keep making vlogs. Thank you.
Thanks Frank! We ran mostly at around 8 knots. Went 18 knots 2 times for about 15-20 minutes each time. If I remember correctly, I don't think it took more than 6 hours from Fort Lauderdale to Bimini.
Nice vids!! Just came across your Most of my cruising is limited to west/east coast of Florida and Keys... out of Sarasota. Did do a crossing to Bahamas several years ago, but on a friend's boat. Would like your cruising info for Carolina ICW, as I am planning a trip up to Chesapeake next Spring. Those areas probably shoaled due to recent storms in that area, and gov’t hasn’t caught up with local conditions. St. Augustine is one of my favorite places to get away to. Go there 2-3 times a year. Hope you two tried the 'Columbia' when you were in SA.
Great Video Cyndi and Sheldon!. Thanks! We are just clearing the smoke out here. Its cooling off in the mornings as well. 50 degree mornings aren't fun. Fall is here and we just got our jet skis back from the shop. Might try and go out this weekend for a one time summer ride. Sheldon, I bet that ticking motor might have a head gasket problem. Have you checked that? lol. sorry. Have a good time you two! Cheers! Bret and Talyn
It takes about 6 to 7 hours for us from Fort Lauderdale. From Miami if would be a little less and would have a little bit of the gulf stream current pushing you along.
Fantastic video as usual guys. Is the engine knocking issue (blown head gasket) from before or was that new footage??? I hope you don't have that problem!
Great video guys as always. Glad she’s all fixed up! Was the Hydroplane Regatta in Gananoque at the beginning of this summer? We were there that day - wish I would have noticed C-Shel! Cheers!
A spun rod/main bearing will sound like knocking two baseball bats together, a rocker arm or bent push rod will be more of a ticking sound. Usually a spun bearing won't make the engine run rough (usually), but means a total take-down and machine work. A bent pushrod or broken rocker arm will make it run rough.
Hope it wasn't what I think it is .. bearing failure... Sheldon, what type of davits are those ? Can you show them to us ? Almost forgot...at 16.58 Wow..your rocking that bikini..meant in the most respectful way...
Nee river is my home water where you are at new river is about closed up from big boats unless u know what your doing when you go under the next bridge mile market 26 that's us
We would do, and have done the NJ ICW from Manasquan Inlet to Atlantic City in the previous year, however, it takes much longer than the ocean. So if its nice on the Ocean, we take it. Something we didn't capture in this video, but we did attempt, was doing the ICW from Atlantic City to Cape May. We got a half hour in and turned around, and went back to Atlantic City. Way too much shoaling, it was like the bottom jumped up in front of you every few minutes.
I really dont mean to be negative. Im honestly trying to be helpful. Both of you HAVE to fix your postures. You both slouch so much, its actually compressing your skeletal systems, which in turn compresses your organs. I never never seen either one of you sit or stand up straight once in all your videos, never, not even close. I work in medicine. I do echocardiograms for a living. I travel the US doing this job. I work directly with the human bodies of my patients and I see the things that make people age prematurely. Posture is key!!!! I have never seen either of you stand up straight, or sit up straight. You are the must hunched over people I have ever seen in my life and it will catch up with you as you age. You make such an effort to eat healthy, but you ignore gravity. What happens, over time, is your bodies natural center of gravity will shift forward. This then puts strain on your hips, legs, feet....Next thing you know, you have hip problems. Then its surgery. Then its a walker. I watch my patients and I wonder why a 90 year old can be so "young" and a 60 year old can be so "old". I look for patterns. Mostly just out of curiosity. Time after time the one variable that I notice is posture. I myself need to lose 30 pounds of belly fat and I find my posture is starting to drag forward, so im constantly straightening my back out now. Being tall doesnt help because EVERYTHING is made for short people. Desks are too low, chairs, toilets, counters. I have to lean down because society is short. So I have to constantly make an effort to sit/stand up straight and stretch my rib cage out/forwards.
Your wife makes things worse .....best she just sit back and let you try navigate without the negative comments that would drive me crazy in tight situations.
It is unfortunate you think that way. If you can't remain calm and have patience when your crew/loved-ones have questions or concerns, the waterways may be a very stressful place for you.
lol nice stink pot power boat. How much did that cost in fuel I wonder. You know why there are not more power boat videos? Cause it takes no skill and is incredibly lazy. Guess this is your way of paying for the fuel lol, good luck with that.
Wow, sorry you feel that way. Its a good question though. Fuel is not that expensive, relatively, it is actually the least expensive thing we pay for living this lifestyle. You can see what we spent on a trip from Canada to the Bahamas in this video, ua-cam.com/video/QpNBt0L9ww0/v-deo.html So tell us what your story is? I mean to have the gaul to call someone lazy without even knowing them is incredibly naive. How much of your things and homes did you sell and unload, some of it to charity, to free yourself up to do your travels? How much of your own maintenance do you do to keep things running? How much work do you do to be able to support such a lifestyle? How much uncertainty did you face? How much sacrifice did you make? How many challenges did you face? How many hours of video editing do you do just to be able to tell your story to help inspire people to get on the water? You think you are something because you can raise a sail and use PredictWind? Seriously, what is your story, and why do you think the way you do? We've been doing this for 3 years now, and I have to say I have not met one sailor with a superiority complex as you do.
The good news is anyone with half a brain will realize what a tool you are for criticizing power boaters. I’ve NEVER seen a sailboat over 25 feet that didn’t have some type of mechanical propulsion. Go blow some of your hot air into your sails and move on...
I will bet this guy has not spent significant time on the water. I've never met a serious cruiser or sailor who spent extended time at sea who wasn't friendly and helpful. I suspect its because all sea goers know that no matter how prepared you are, or how good your equipment, someday you may need help from another cruiser. Keep up the good work and good attitudes guys!
Sheldon is PATIENT! Especially in hanging in with the repairs.
Nice to see another Canadian boat cross golf stream to Bimini , I towed my boat all the way to FLL from Toronto, cross to Bimini July 2019 !
Unforgettable experience and memories !
You guys never cease to reawaken this dream in my mind.

Another great video for people that can't afford to do this thanks for sharing so we get to see what it's like to to travel down the icw✌
Thanks, but we do hope to see you out here someday. Everything is achievable. Cheers!
Thank you for making these videos. like Brad said there are not enough powerboat channels
on youtube.
Best boat trip video on you tube! I'm sold....
Ah, thanks Chris! You are too kind. Cheers!
Love you guys. Thanks for taking me along!!!
Can't believe how packed that marina in Bimini was then. There a few weeks back and we were the ONLY boat.
Me and my wife have been patiently waiting for a new video. Thanks guys!
We like your channel. We have several kids so we can't go sailing plus my wife gets seasick. But we can watch you...yeah!! You guys look pretty successful with youtube also. If you have any tips for our channel we would love some input. Keep posting
Glad your back on the move!! Enjoy and keep us all living vicariously with your Vlogs;-)
really nice guys, enjoyed watching your vids. take care and thanks for sharing!
It's awesome that your back....We love watching your adventures as we are planning our own adventures very soon.
Glad the you guys are back! Not many power boat videos. Love yours!
St Augustine is my hometown , in Albany NY right now but moving back soon nice video enjoyed it.
Thanks! We love St Augustine.
I've watched this one twice (over some time) and it is a great video.
Awe thanks Brian.
Wife and I have been patiently waiting. You're video quality and editing is great! Keep up the good work!
Great video! Good job sharing the fun of the trip :)
Enjoying your videos while a snowstorm blows through Ottawa ❤️🇨🇦
👍 Life is not a dress rehearsal 👍 Great video
Very very true! Thanks!
I wish you could give Jesus as much attention as you give that lucky rock. May God Bless You both with a yearning for the word of God.
My brother and sissy-in-law!! Your liv'in the life! Keep liv'in!! OXOX
Great to see you guys again and ready for the next adventure. Keep the great videos coming and be safe!

Thanks Billy. Crossing on a jetski?! Now that must be fun! Yes, we love the Bahamian people for sure.
Thanks for the tips! We'll be heading that way as soon as the water warms up and I can't wait!
Make sure you say hi if you see us. Cheers!
hey Iive in Atlantic City Welcome hope you had a great time , AWESOME VIDEO THANKS
Hi! Yes we did have a great time. Hope to get back some time on the way north or back south again. Thanks!
Fantastic videos. Good luck!
Your boat with 2 new, lightweight, high efficiency-high output engines would be wonderful. That hull is very solid and the accomodations excellent.
yeah, can you send them over to us? :-)
@@SearchingforCShels 😋😋😋

I didn't catch make of boat, length? Great adventure!
One word, EPIC! great job, nicely done, thank you both!
Thanks so much Peter!
"We waited for high tide" that is wisdom right there. St. Augustine! That's where we live! We love it.
St. Augustine is one of our favs.
Cant wait to see what is coming next with your adventure's!
Great videos. Going to move the boat from the West Coast to East Coast of FL this Winter. Crossing to Bimini was on the list. Very much appreciate the data. Looks like a new boat.
Amazing video. Glad to see you guys are doing well !
Superb, suburb, superb photography,
Love your videos because its a motor yacht and not a sailboat. Very few GOOD motor yacht vlogs. How many knots did you do crossing ocean to Bimini and how many hours did it take? Keep making vlogs. Thank you.

Thanks Michael! Welcome aboard! We did go to Columbia. It was very good. Lots of great places to eat hand hang out in SA.
Great video. Looking forward to seeing more of you adventures
What a fun video. Great job!
How long of a cruising permit did they give you?
They usually start off with 90 days. But you can renew at the end of that period.
Great Video Cyndi and Sheldon!. Thanks! We are just clearing the smoke out here. Its cooling off in the mornings as well. 50 degree mornings aren't fun. Thanks Bret & Talyn! I'll make sure to check the head gasket Bret.... thanks... Cheers!
How long did it take you to cross the Gulf Stream in this video (actual time?)
It takes about 6 to 7 hours for us from Fort Lauderdale. From Miami if would be a little less and would have a little bit of the gulf stream current pushing you along.
Wow! Ok, thanks!
Our family is moving onto a 53 ft motor yacht next month! We plan to go to the Bahamas for the first time next January.
So exciting!
Really great edit!
Canada to the Bahamas in one episode, that was quick.
We are trying to catch up closer to realtime.
Well Done Captain
Thanks!
Enjoyed your video
Thank you!
Loved the video!
Curious as to what is the maximum air draft you can have to take the route you did?
Love your videos!
Like the new bow railing. I have a 37 Bertram that I want to replace the aluminum railing with stainless steel. Do you mind a ballpark on costs?
Actually that isn't a new bow rail. We had to take it off to paint the cap rail. Sorry we can't give you a ballpark cost. Cheers!
Awesome video!
Your boat is beautiful like to see a walk through
Thanks for the suggestion Frank, we have it on the episode list.
Cool video 🤓
Like your graphics
You made a nice video
Great video.
Fantastic video as usual guys. Is the engine knocking issue (blown head gasket) from before or was that new footage??? I hope you don't have that problem!
How much fuel did you use crossing
Just the crossing from Fort Lauderdale to Bimini we probably used 22-24 gallons of fuel.
Awesome
Great video guys as always. Glad she’s all fixed up! Was the Hydroplane Regatta in Gananoque at the beginning of this summer? We were there that day - wish I would have noticed C-Shel! Cheers!
What size is your yacht
She is a 44 footer. 50 feet length over all.
Enjoyed the video, hopefully the engine knock isn't anything major.
Wish I’d have known you two were in motion could have met up somewhere Chesapeke city to rock hall anyways have a great trip I’ll be falling closely 😎
Maybe another time!
What kind of boat is Princess Royal?
She is a Carver 53 Voayager.
Where can I find that Whitesnake Mix at 1:45?
soundcloud.com/aka-dj-quads/here-i-go-again
Hope it wasn't what I think it is .. bearing failure...
Sheldon, what type of davits are those ? Can you show them to us ?
Almost forgot...at 16.58 Wow..your rocking that bikini..meant in the most respectful way...
The Davit is called a Dinghy Caddy. We will do a piece on it in the future.
The show was great, but the sound was terrible, was to low or to high!😊
Yes we know. Sorry about that. Out newer stuff is more balanced.
Be safe y'all
Nee river is my home water where you are at new river is about closed up from big boats unless u know what your doing when you go under the next bridge mile market 26 that's us
Yayyyyyy
The ocean is great, but did you consider NJ ICW instead? This is 2017, right?
We would do, and have done the NJ ICW from

Your about to have a bad left
Do you guys have jobs?
Of course. Just don't have to work so much when we don't own a lot of things like houses and cars. 😉
