Tywin is such a powerful character. Charles Dance is absolutely a Legend.
Daario Naaris was recast. Simply because the previous actor didn't sign for a new season.
The weird thing is that they picked an actor who doesn't bear any resemblance with the old one.
you'll notice that for a couple episodes, everyone takling to Daario uses his full name, so that the viewer remembers who he is.
instead of returning the actor did the villian in Deadpool i beleive
The actor himself has said he was let go by the show runners and he wanted to return. He's had a fine career anyway at least.
RIP Ice. I always get emotional watching it get melted down, and the wolf pelt tossed in the fire.
Season 4 ties with season 1 for best with television ever (and “ever” for me is 70+ years)! Season 4 rocks!
Totally agree. I love Season 4
Completely agree
"I can't watch it, but I need to." 😂😂😂😂😂
This is where GoT gets in high gear.. if you thought it was rocking before 😂 and it won’t stop until the very end… buckle up!
"Someone walked and changed the music!!" That just struck me as funny!
😂😂😂😂
The significance of that Sword is that its the Stark family sword. Passed through generations. Ned was using it in season 1. Huge size of a sword, not the easiest kind to handle. He was beheaded with it. Its all history now. Valyrian steel. All reforged into 2 new shorter swords. As if Tywin would leave it go to waste.
Keep them coming!
30ish times seeing this, I just noticed Bronn shaking his head 'yes' in the Brothel, then you said it😅 . See, I am still seeing and picking up on things I never did before.
This is why I love watching GOT reactions. I've watched the series multiple times and yet a newbie always points something out that I never noticed before. 👏🏽
Season 4 has the best drama and acting, in my opinion.
I don't talk much about Tywin Lannister's past in the series.
He was the son of a very silly lord and all the vassals took advantage of him, Tywin was born knowing that no one would laugh at him when he started to take charge, he took on the leadership role at the age of 18. And he was an excellent battle general, putting down 3 internal rebellions.
His sister describes him like that in the books'' Tywin was never small even when he was big'
3, 4, 1 & season 6 are my favorites. Fyi the Red Wedding I believe GRRM based it partially on reality in Scottish history. Since you're a Northerner I thought you'd appreciate that. Cheers
I'd say reactions were already starting up a few years before the Red Wedding aired, Lost was well known for big twists and cliffhangers and its finale was very big and there were lots of reactions to the show from when it was airing, but reaction videos would've boosted a lot in popularity by the Red Wedding because it was such a big TV event in an even more digital age than when Lost was airing.
Let's gooooo! This season is so fire. Pedro is a legend.
Eric from Blind Wave, in his reaction to this episode, wondered if "Two Swords" refers to Ned's sword "Ice" and Ayra's "Needle" instead of what was shown in the cold opening.
The title can often be taken many ways
Oberyn F***ing Martel! OHHHYEAAHHHHH!!!!
29:03 that was my third favorite Arya moment. No spoilers. I think the other two (when you see them) will be pretty obvious. There are several to choose from even now!
I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned before, but just in case it hasn't, the dragon's names are Drogon (the largest, black and red), his name comes from Drogo. The middle dragon (green and bronze) is named Rhaegal, after her older brother Rhaegar Targaryen. And the smallest dragon (cream and gold) is named after her brother Viserys.
We open with two swords and we close with two swords.
Another great reaction to a great episode of the greatest show!!! Lol. I just love your energy, Kev! Can't wait to go through the rest of this season again! It is one of my favorites. And it's so exciting to watch new people discover Oberyn!!! He was instantly one of my favorite characters upon introduction & I think that is a common reaction. Lol. But it absolutely tickles me all these years later!!! Now you will know why so many of us were excited to see him be cast as Joel. :) Incredible talent who brings amazing characters to life. 🌈
OBERYN MY FAVORITE ❤❤❤
I'm really happy to follow a channel who puts out consistent GoT. I'm glad you're wrapped up in it. Keep going! Ned Starks sword being being melted down to make 2 Valaryan steel swords always pisses me off.
"I'm afraid, because someone will die" its exactly what happens every time you fall in love with a carachter in GOT . Love your reactions Kev!
Oberyn is my favorite new character. Total badass!
This is the way..I Mean Oberyn! ;) Yes This Season has some Legendary moment's Kev Enjoy the ride 🔥🐲⚔️🤘
I love Daario #2.
The theme music at the end always gives me chills.
I'm not sure it was the Romans who practiced incest, I think you mean the Egyptians. But nonetheless, I was in the Colosseum a couple of weeks ago and when you stand there on the arena floor and try to imagine what happened there, you realise that human life meant a lot less in the past than it does today.
The conservative commentator Peter Hitchens, who has read the books but declined to watch the series, has I believe put the situation in the GOT world down to the absence of a Jesus figure, one who preached love and forgiveness: the GOT gods are either indifferent to human suffering or encouraging of it, much like the gods in our own ancient world.
I'm not religious but I do feel there's something in what he says.
Anyway, I wrote all that and the episode hasn't even started yet. Bring on Oberyn! And a chance to see again the lovely, talented Indira Varma, who I have seen on stage three times now!
I may return.
It’s not that human life was valued in the past, just that people were more accepting of their own mortality. People back then didn’t try to outrun or delay their own death as much as people do today, since we expect to live a long time with comfortable lives and modern medicine. (Side note: gladiators rarely fought to the death).
I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO HIT THIS SEASON!!! My favorite!
I have been binge watching to catch up lol .. great reactions so it's fun to watch. I didn't start watching GOT until a friend gave me a portable harddrive with 3.4 seasons on it, I binge watched it over a couple of weeks and was caught up by episode 6 of season 3. losing Ned so early was awful, he was such a main character at that point that I was unsure how the show was gonna go from there,, how little did I know right? by the time the red wedding happened I was waiting for the weekly episodes and yeah I;m pretty sure I screamed when it happened lol. Season 4 was the first season I had to wait for and it was painful for sure.. I went back and rewatched the first 3 seasons cause I was sure I had missed things and of course I had, binge watching it doesn't give you time to absorb what's happened, but it's so hard to resist watching just another episode haha, I love this show, best show that ever was or will be! so every year I would re-watch the entire thing prior to the new season coming out and everytime I watched I still caught little things and even with a few reactors I've watched I noticed more things. The wait between seasons was around 10months and the last season we waited almost 2 years!! Even if there had been 10 seasons with 10 movie length episodes I still think it would never be enough.. season 4 is def one of my favourite seasons & the season finale is a firm favourite, but each season has some great episodes and scenes so it's never really dull. I will keep my opinion about the last couple seasons to myself and I know some think it was done by season 5 but 6 has some great moments and I never lost interest like I did with other shows, You are no longer a sweet summer child, season 3 makes sure of it but it's not over by a long shot and will watch the rest with you .. I thought maybe I was a weirdo that was obsessed but so many people love the reactions too so I think maybe I'm just a little weirdly obsessed haha from a GOT fan from downunder 👑
A 9 minute intro!! Not that I don't love you, but I want every bit of GoT that I can get because you chop so much out.
You got some great times ahead of you. 💯💪
One of my favorite episodes
Thank you! I needed this!
Best season of the show
Definetely my favourite season!
First time watching ya….love your enthusiasm and remarks… I’ll be back👍🏼
You’re going to love season 4.
"Lots of people name their swords"
"Lots of cunts"
haha thats like my favorite line from the episode! LOL
LOVE YOUR REACTIONS!
Your in for a treat with season 4
You're*
One of my favorite episodes.
very excited to see you react to the next episode
Oberyn!! ❤
He is awesome :)
And she got her pony. 😂
Makes me sad so many reactors don't get the significance of Ice being melted down so unceremoniously and the wolf skin scabbard being burned 😩
All this and a Royal Wedding coming.
Due to Seeing you post reviews on youtube I know you a way past season 4 and into season 6 now so this isn't a spoiler
Good call out on the up-and-coming death of Joffrey can't wait for the reaction
As for Oberyn's martal I had to laugh when he came on screen and you reacted cause of his future lol
as for tywin Lannister, I never liked him since the start
and I am going to add this in as for Walder Frey I don't side with him in what he did .. but I can understand why he did it ... up until Robb Stark the starks were known not to be oath breakers and rob stuffed that all up
Jaime is one of my favorite character arcs and a great themed character. I’m a big Stannis fan though.
I wish Jon had brought Ygritte. Idk if she would've gone, but she did love him & him her. At least they are still together in the real world with their two children. She is a real one, she stood by him when he decided to get sober. I saw an amazing podcast of him talking about it.
If you're not planning to read the books (if you are, set aside a year or two!), once you've finished watching the series have a look online for what happens to Catelyn Stark in the books - things are kinda different. 😀
I love Oberyn
Brianne made Jamie likable. Also the loss of his hand made people care for him.
On incest being gross now, but normal a long time ago: homo sapiens as a species have always had a problem with incest where our other hominid relatives did not. According to anthropologists, even the earliest homo sapiens populations avoided incest and would reproduce with other homo sapiens tribes, as well as other hominid species/subspecies. Incest was only really normalized tens of thousands of years later for royals in certain cultures, in an effort to "keep the bloodline pure", based in the idea that only specific bloodlines were fit to rule. We know now that there is not a genetic lineage that is somehow "meant" to rule, and that inbreeding causes a great deal of harm to the bloodline, so it has once again fallen out of favor with the ruling class in those cultures.
Yeah!!!
:)
Your son should watch it too o wait 😅
What happened to the dark knight rises reaction? I was gonna watch that tonight
No histories and lore for season 3???
He melted Ned’s sword kind of pissed me off
A positive child killer... that's a new one 😂
My favorite tho are Seasons 6 and 7... Can't hardly wait to youget there... BUT Season 4 has one of the most satisfying scenes from all the series... #NoSpoilersIntended there might come a moment when you question your statements about Geoffrey being an evil spoiled and sadistic lil brat and how much of a Crazy Bitch Cersei really is... Cheers, mate!!
I agree with your assessment of Tywin. I wouldn't go as far as to say I like him. I don't. He's a complete asshole but he's also one of my favorite characters. Same with Cersei. I absolutely loathe her, but she is an endlessly fascinating character.
Dude, Arya is a psychopat. Don't be blinded by a character being a protagonist, there's no good people left here 😛
Well, the guy she killed did kill her friend and took her sword. He had it coming.
why no history and lore?
I hate the fake movie version of "forging" swords. Swords aren't just melted and poured into a mold, and pommels aren't removed just by smacking them with a hammer. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (one of the best films of all time) is just as guilty.
The previous Daario decided to move on to something else. GoT wasn't that big of a series before S3 aired and his was a minor role, so he must have thought he'd be better off elsewhere.
I’m sure he’s somewhere kicking a wall 😂
Listening to talkers makes me thirsty
Dont listen to anyone who read the books. The show is different and they turn in to the haters in the later seasons. They try to ruin the show for everyone because they act like elitists. Im sick of them.
i would not call us elitist because i and most book readers enjoy the show for the most part. i enjoyed it until around season 6. the writing and story telling as well as characters changed so much. i dont like like season 7 or 8 because jon regressed , tyrion , regressed as well as varys and little finger. the characters stopped having conseqences for actions or non actions. 1 exampel of this is brianne chosing vengence against stanis instead of duty to sansa. than she suddenly saves sansa and all is well. no consequences for her choice to abandon her duty. i dont begrudge anyone who loves all the seasons. rob chose love over duty and he paid for that decision with his life in season 3, now that was good story telling.
You just proved my point. We show watchers like the show for what it is and you come in and say "No, that's not right. Waaaaaaaa." Not to sound rude but we don't care about your opinions and stop trying to influence reactors.
You can’t argue that the writing and dialog get objectively worse once they run out of book material. I still enjoy plenty of things in the latter seasons and was on board with the idea that it’s it’s own thing, but they rushed the ending a fumbled or completely forgot several plot lines
Talking thru the best dialog in the series👎🏻
What do you expect from a reaction video?
The skipping of “lots of people name their swords” was maddening
@@heyarnoldfan12First world problems.
Welcome to the best season of the show! This is your reward for enduring season 3!🫡
If you think the trauma's over tho, you got another thing comming!😅
PS: OMFG, it's huge!😳
That's what she said!😆
