      RAM tends to have a lifetime warranty. You can try to see if you can get it replaced for FREE even though the PC may be out of warranty.

    • @StevePringle

      The Dell Memory Limited Lifetime warranty ( only in US, not applicable to APJ)
      The confidence of Dell in its superior testing and certification procedures is not only reflected through its system hardware warranty
      support. Dell Certified memory also contains a Limited Lifetime warranty that guarantees that if our Dell Certified memory should
      ever fail, Dell will replace it . Even after your system hardware warranty expires, Dell still has you covered. APJ Warranty is 1 year/
      integrated with the system hardware warranty.

      If you bought off someone on eBay, you might have a problem as they would be the original owner. You would have to have bought directly from Dell or an authorized (like Staples, Best Buy, etc) and have some type of receipt or registered it within a year of buying it.

      You're welcome. I'm glad that you were able to get your system up and running. Did your system clock fall behind? If the PC is always on like in a work environment, that tends not to happen but at home to save power, it will drain since they are good for 1-3 years depending on the brand.

    • @StevePringle

      Can you remove all, turn on and let it beep, turn off and put only ONE stick and power up. If it works. Shut down and put it on the left of the PC and try a second stick. If that is good put it on the left as well, if bad, put it on the right side. Continue until you go through all the sticks. When done, try the sticks on the right again. If it is still the same, those need to be replaced. If good, mark them so you know that it is possibly failing. If under warranty tell your seller/manufacturer.

      The one that looks bad, try it alone one-by-one in all the slots to make sure it's not the motherboard. That way, you don't buy RAM and see it not working.

      1 x No audio from Speakers or headphone jack (they want me to install drivers and update firmware, WTF?)

      It's a hiccup that will happen up to four times in the life of the PC. If you have to do it twice in 1 month, check it thoroughly. It could be due to a mistake in OC settings or heat related issue by underpowered PSU that can't keep up due to poor airflow.

      Yeah. If the battery is dead, you don't want it to leak and mess up the motherboard so remove it now and replace it when you can. The PC can operate safely without it.
      If the time was off by a few hours, it's weak and you will eventually need to replace it. Leaving the PC on should recharge it but not by much as it is a CR2032 and not LR2032/ML2032.

      Power loss or spike can cause it. Good idea to use a reliable power strip. I recommend disabling the power button in Control Panel.

      I know lots of people who try to eject their DVD drive and hit the power button and shutdown at the worst time.

    Mine didn't do anything after removing,RAM, Might the problem be Cmos battery

    • @StevePringle
      @StevePringle  День тому

      The battery (if dead or weak) would give you a "time of day not set" message. You would need to restore your settings to the storage boots properly.

      High possibility of a bad motherboard so don't put back all the RAM at once to confirm if 1 of the RAM sticks is bad.

    Your method does not fix all issues. The flashing orange light gives indicator of what the problem is depending on the flash sequence. There is a dell document explaining the meanings.

      It's meant to troubleshoot, and a high percentage of the time, the RAM needs to be reseated or replaced.

    But could it also be a CMOS problem? coz I tried all what u did here but still my system is bringing up the yellow light.

    • @StevePringle
      @StevePringle  4 роки тому

      If you were flashing, the possibility is high but I doubt you were doing that. Listen and look at the fans to make sure you are not overheating. They need to be unobstructed and spinning normally so check the CPU fan, the PSU fan and HDD fan.

    +Steve Pringle Markus and I tried your suggestion, and unfortunately nothing changed. The light is a solid yellow light on my machine. Markus came over to look at my Dell, and when he opened it up, he did smell something slightly smokey, though he wasn't sure if he was right, since he had a mask on. He ended up having to take the computer home with him, since he has all his tools at home, and so I'm hoping he'll figure out what's goin' on when he tries to diagnose it at home. If nothing can be fixed, he's going to bring the hard drive back and let me borrow his hard drive dock so I can try to back stuff up on another drive. I'd like to send you an email with pictures of a computer that I'd like to build.

    • @StevePringle
      @StevePringle  3 роки тому +1

      A "smokey" odor could be the PSU. So the power button is a steady yellow and not a flashing yellow? If so, the RAM pull won't help and would need to be checked further.

    • @MsAussie83
      @MsAussie83 3 роки тому

      @@StevePringle That's why Markus took it home with him, since he has all the tools at home to get further into the machine. Do you have a way for me to send you an Email so I could send you some pictures of the kind of tower I'm after? Also, I'd like to send some specifications of components I'm looking for, and I'm wondering where I could find these or similar ones that would still support Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

    Sir, i had blinking and beep problem. So i removed the ram and reinserted it but i locked it manually with my hand. Now it is blinking without sound and no display coming. Should i reinsert and push it until it is locked automatically

    • @StevePringle
      @StevePringle  3 роки тому

      Good morning. Was it beeping before you removed the memory sticks? Try 1 stick at a time (with the HDD unplugged) and after you figure which stick is the cause, reconnect the HDD and boot normally. Memory should always click into place.
