1. Connections-Plumbing
1.1 Cold Water Pipe Connection
Warning: An isolation valve and non-return valve must be installed on the cold water line to the water heater.
1.2 Hot Water Pipe Connection
1.3 Temperature Pressure Relief Valve Connection
Warning: The drain line must be fitted to the temperature pressure relief valve. Copper material drain line is better.
1.4 Drain Valve Connection
2. Connections-Electrical
Warning: The power supply to the water heater must not be switched on until the water heater is filled with water.
All electrical work and permanent wiring must be carried out by a qualified person and in accordance with the Wiring Rules, and all local codes and regulatory authority requirements.
3. Commissioning
Warning: To Fill and Turn On the Water Heater. The power supply to the water heater must not be switched on until the water heater is filled with water and a satisfactory megger reading is obtained.
3.1 Open the cold water isolation valve fully on the cold water line to the water heater.
3.2 Open the hot water isolation valve fully on the hot water line to the water heater.
3.3 Open all of the hot water taps in the house (don’t forget the shower). Air will be forced out of the taps.
3.4 Closed each tap as water flows freely from it.
3.5 Switch on the electrical supply at the water heater isolating switch on the switchboard and at the isolating switch at the water heater.
