This is my favorite Padres team yet because even with Darvish, Muskgrove, Bogearts, and Tatis gone they CRUSH it. Everybody stepping up and playing as a team, a beautiful thing to watch.
No surprise Mosgrove and Bogarts been suckin all season long; Darvish and Tatis not been good either. Would be a real problem is if Merrill, Profar, Arraez, Waldron (yes, Waldron) and Suárez were hurt.
@@juanorozco4553 X was just starting to heat up the same way manny has. X’s last 7 games he had a OPS of .868. Then the injury happened. If he comes back and picks up where he left off, the padres will be a problem for any team.
7:45 So during this Jackson Merrill home run, you can see this woman with the pinstriped padres uniform reaching out to try and grab this hr ball, and it turns out that that’s Jackson Merrill’s mom! The fact that he hit a home run to his own mother has got to be one of the coolest moments of the season! His family grew up Red Sox fans too so that makes it even sweeter! Go padres 💛
Jackson Merrill actually hit his 3 run homerun directly to where his mother was sitting in the outfield. You can see her jumping up and down in the white Padres jersey at 7:25.
Barely a minute into the video and already going to thirty second ads, after starting with thirty second ads. This is ridiculous. I'll just check the box score and not bother with the highlights.
Luis Arraez mkes The Padres a must watch team. I love the way he swings the bat. He and Kyle Schwarber have something about their style that is unique.
I was looking forward to X's return to Fenway to cheer him and give him a standing ovation. I was able to do that but I wish he was in uniform and got to see him play again in Fenway but i guess I'll have to wait until 2026, the next time Padres will play in Boston
@@PennyFitzgeraldFan They just need to survive these next few games. They'll have a day off soon and then they can reset all of their pitchers and they can refresh themselves.
Machado gets a bad rap for being quick to give up on "easy outs", but he does hustle on plays where the runner has a better chance. In this case, the roller was so slow that just about any healthy player would've beat it out, so he was hustling, but not running all that fast (as fast as he could, still hobbled by an injury). It was surprising that the play was close enough to be called out in the first place.
I'm a Sox fan, but if I rooted for an NL team, it would be the Padres. Red Sox plays hard, but they have better luck against tougher teams, and the Padres have better luck against weaker teams. I'm not sure how to rate this game. Both teams should be a lot better than they've played
Matsui did an excellent job as the closer, extending his scoreless streak to 10 games. I wonder where that useless Korean player is now? As for Yoshida, he didn't have any standout moments, but since the Red Sox lost, that's good enough.😀
@@Ibenchmorethanyou_2354 He probably wouldn't mind being anywhere but in the polluted air of Boston. He’s getting $18 million a year from the Red Sox (for the next four years) and just playing baseball as he pleases.😎

That's actually pretty amazing hitting a home run to my family is wild😮
That's a wholesome moment coming from a Sox fan. Hope the padres make it far this year bc I think they will 👍
That’s awesome
Jackson Merrill: This HR was for you mom!!
Luis Arraez must be a nightmare for opposing pitchers, what an amazing hitter he is.
The Padres are HOT right now! Let's hope they keep it up!
Wow! What a pleasure to watch highlights that are edited well. Good continuity, no crucial plays omitted, no repeat footage. Good job
I’m a Yankees fan but the Padres are playing some good ball
How when the Padres are only four games over the five hundred mark that's bad
I know they got 9 runs in one inning
You’re only saying this cause we won
So nice of the Redsox to write Merrill’s name all over the Padres dugout…. Class…. 😎

02:35 I live to see Yoshida's base running
as long they keep the momentum, they're gonna be called the Slam Diego Padres
I have been a Padres fan since 1980, I live in San Diego. I will always root for my Home Team, win or lose #diehardfriar
Great win for my Pads! Hope Vasquez is okay after taking that line drive. That 5th was insane
Apple TV announcer’s call of Merrill’s HR was pretty good
Jackson Merrill has over preformed expectations so much this year
As a red Sox fan, great piece of hitting by Cronenworth off of Weissert there, very unselfish approach.

Let’s go San Diego let’s sweep 🧹 Boston 💪🏼
What on earth is Boston's pitching doing? Last 3 games they gave up 5,7, and 9 runs all in 1 inning!
I think that yellow nail polish on Nick Pave made them lose this way!

Por qué Xander bogar no está jugando
He’s injured unfortunately
I was there, disappointing loss but it was still very fun!
What a let down by my Sox
I should've gave up on the sox when the season started. We all know how this ends.
