Neither of them are in touch with reality I see. These extended stay hotels are seeing a surge because the homeless population is out of control in the U.S. landlords and apartments have some of the most ridiculous criteria to rent from them so people are forced to cram their families in these rooms
This disgusts me!!!! There is a huge difference between staying for shitz and giggles and staying because you don't make 3 times the rent for an apartment!!!!
This story is out of touch. What’s driving demand is the fact that there is a surge / rising number of Americans who cannot afford housing or even apartments.
Lmao people wanting to be digital nomads? 😭 No, extended stay is for people who can't qualify for apartments anymore due to eviction or poor credit. Of course it's increasing in popularity as the more and more people suffer financially.
Yeah it's pretty sad I saw a bunch of families at the Residence In by Marriott. Some couldn't afford it others were their for other reasons. So glad I'm going to be working in the hotel industry again though I miss it. Even my friend was telling me that he thinks I should work in hotel.
I love extended stay hotels. Most of them have the nicest comforts of home. But please be careful which ones you stay at because some of them may not be the nicer places to be.
@@t.j.7789 Extended Stay is WAY better than a typical apartment, if you can afford it! This "sleeping out of your car" comparison is coming from out of nowhere as far as I am concerned. UNLESS you are mocking its size! But size doesn't even matter if you are a bachelor (like me!).
Be very careful about the extended stay in Birmingham Alabama and centerpoint it's ridiculous and the staff is completely I don't I don't even know what word to use for it my name is Isaac weathers I'm one of the investors in the US and as well as hotel and I am ashamed of it
thats good idea most hotels can turn into full time apt units thats happening all the time , with people poor credit scores they will take them in depending where they at
Extended stay hotels are a welcome alternative to platforms like Airbnb. I have booked Airbnb twice, and both times, it turned out to be a mistake. On the first Airbnb stay, I was sexually harassed by the host, and on the second booking, the accommodation turned out to be a slum, in a questionable neighbourhood. It didn't look anything like the listing photos. With a branded hotel, you expect a level of quality and consistency that doesn't exist when you are renting from a homeowner. Also, by the time you add up the extra charges and the cleaning fees of Airbnb, hotel rates look pretty good.
from what i have seen most extended stay hotels are not in good shape plus the reviews ohhhh weeee i seen movie reviews better than these extended stay hotel reviews and a lot of extended stay hotels are n/a in most areas

This segment sounded more like an advertisement for Marriott, than actual news.
Exactly!!!!!

I just got hired at one. lol! The one I'm at seems nice enough.
Are you talking about some of these hotels being in rugged neighborhoods? That's what to be careful about?
If it's between an extended stay and living in your car or on the street, which would you pick?

Long winded answers which basically say, "This is our response to AirBnB!"
I'm for anything that cuts through nonsensical rules and regulations for where one wants to reside. Extended stay hotels are a solid alternative.
Finally. Replacing air BnB. Took them long enough to catch on instead of complaining.
...Because people are living in them. Wow. More research could have been done for this story. 😐

Talk about out of touch ... They make it seem like a resort... I guarantee if you don't pay you will be on unlimited vacation/homelessness

How about renting a room in an AirBnB?
Not for US residents but UK, Germany etc - never go over 90 days in any country and you’ll live tax free. Not a penny of tax
People doing extend stay hotel day because there are a lot of evictions and they're tired of apartment rules!
I wonder who is staying there 🤔
...well don't tell everybody!😂
Hi.
Where are Echo Suites Extended Stay properties located?
Unless they have great pest control, roaches are more likely in extended stays because of all the cooking going on and the smell of food.
Matt 6 verse 1 though 31
Color me dubious.
What color is dubious
Hahaha good one!@@Pein718
I like this story,
Extended stay is our new slum apartments
Yeah, I'm working in one and the things I see are horrific.
Well, drop the apartment prices down, simple
