@@JamesWiltshire Great video! Owen you're a beast. Unreal speed. Keep up the good work both of you! Will be looking out for you Own in the future long drive events.

Long drive specialist Kyle Berkshire cranks off a world-record drive of 579.65 yards at Rochelle Ranch Golf Course in Rawlins, Wyoming, on Oct. 2, 2023 (241.7 mph ball speed)
Thanks. So I want to try long drive. Would you say go for a bendy shaft or extra stiff? I was going from Martin borgys clubs. Paradym with an IHI shaft or xt30? Thanks again. ❤
@@mrsimo7144 starting out the whippy shafts are very hard to hit and take a lot of getting used to but can be faster I’d probably recommend a 220-240cpm shaft starting out
Wow this was an amazing video thanks I really enjoyed watching, that guys swing speed is so impressive, I felt for you on that hole where he drove like 420 yards, I play off 11.3 handicap and I often play with a mates son who plays off scratch and he often drives the ball 375 and I am like 70 yards back with my best shots lol.
Impressive apart from getting haircut tips from Flower. Seriously though, that is mad quick for someone who is not that big. Fast twitch muscles on overdrive.
Easy when you bomb 400 and have a flick on the green 🤣insane. On the speed session he had hit a 6 iron the same distance as what i average with my driver😮. Great video James 👍🏻
James, question, do you think it's possible for a tour pro to get that fast and have time to work on all other aspects of the game or does long drive training take too much time?
@@TripodianTT 20 years? People drove it 400 yards in long drive 20 years ago too. The misses from these speeds are just to big for it to become standard. Not a chance.
We've all done that putting thing. It's hard to convince yourself to go straight at the hole. Read it straightish, but get over the ball and decide (for no good reason) it's got to be a couple of balls right to left. Nope, right first time, it was straight. We've all been there.

@@blue24563 Depends on your definition of ""compete" but I'd argue only a select few of the longer hitters would be actually be able to compete. If they actually put the time aside and adjusted then they would be competitive.
@@si777 they wouldn’t be able to beat the very best long drivers like Kyle Berkshire, but most tour pros could get ball speeds of comfortably over 200 if they really let loose. A friend of mine once played with Padraig Harrington in a charity game. He was driving over 400yds all day.
Unlike the rest here I personally cringe when I watch this. As someone with two blown discs from a lifetime of golf my everyday life is full of pain. Numbness and radicular leg pain in both legs/feet isn't much fun. Furthermore, if I'd been unfortunate enough to do the same to the vertebrae above L4 that I've done to L4/L5 and L5/S1 I'd be incontinent and impotent too, and possibly my motor functions compromised too. Spine injury is a profound thing. It lasts forever; major surgeries are not the answer. Ego trips and bragging rights are not worth it .....
Look at Jimmy the tour pro here. He was clearly swinging hard for UA-cam. He was probably a couple over par on the 9 holes. If he dialled it back a bit he is a scratch golfer at worst guaranteed.
Most golfers will never play with an LDer and see a clubhead speed at the minimum of 140mph. 145mph club head speed is ridiculous, 150mph is insane, and 155mph is just painful to watch. My max was 134mph, and when I hit against a 145mph I was really ready to give up.
